Parallel Processing From Applications To Systems written by Dan I. Moldovan and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-06-28 with Computers categories.
This text provides one of the broadest presentations of parallel processing available, including the structure of parallelprocessors and parallel algorithms. The emphasis is on mapping algorithms to highly parallel computers, with extensive coverage of array and multiprocessor architectures. Early chapters provide insightful coverage on the analysis of parallel algorithms and program transformations, effectively integrating a variety of material previously scattered throughout the literature. Theory and practice are well balanced across diverse topics in this concise presentation. For exceptional clarity and comprehension, the author presents complex material in geometric graphs as well as algebraic notation. Each chapter includes well-chosen examples, tables summarizing related key concepts and definitions, and a broad range of worked exercises. - Overview of common hardware and theoretical models, including algorithm characteristics and impediments to fast performance - Analysis of data dependencies and inherent parallelism through program examples, building from simple to complex - Graphic and explanatory coverage of program transformations - Easy-to-follow presentation of parallel processor structures and interconnection networks, including parallelizing and restructuring compilers - Parallel synchronization methods and types of parallel operating systems - Detailed descriptions of hypercube systems - Specialized chapters on dataflow and on AI architectures

Scheduling Parallel Applications On Heterogeneous Distributed Systems written by Guoqi Xie and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-08-06 with Technology & Engineering categories.
This book focuses on scheduling algorithms for parallel applications on heterogeneous distributed systems, and addresses key scheduling requirements – high performance, low energy consumption, real time, and high reliability – from the perspectives of both theory and engineering practice. Further, it examines two typical application cases in automotive cyber-physical systems and cloud systems in detail, and discusses scheduling challenges in connection with resource costs, reliability and low energy. The book offers a comprehensive and systematic treatment of high-performance, low energy consumption, and high reliability issues on heterogeneous distributed systems, making it a particularly valuable resource for researchers, engineers and graduate students in the fields of computer science and engineering, information science and engineering, and automotive engineering, etc. The wealth of motivational examples with figures and tables make it easy to understand.

Modeling And Optimization Of Parallel And Distributed Embedded Systems written by Arslan Munir and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-02-08 with Computers categories.
This book introduces the state-of-the-art in research in parallel and distributed embedded systems, which have been enabled by developments in silicon technology, micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS), wireless communications, computer networking, and digital electronics. These systems have diverse applications in domains including military and defense, medical, automotive, and unmanned autonomous vehicles. The emphasis of the book is on the modeling and optimization of emerging parallel and distributed embedded systems in relation to the three key design metrics of performance, power and dependability. Key features: Includes an embedded wireless sensor networks case study to help illustrate the modeling and optimization of distributed embedded systems. Provides an analysis of multi-core/many-core based embedded systems to explain the modeling and optimization of parallel embedded systems. Features an application metrics estimation model; Markov modeling for fault tolerance and analysis; and queueing theoretic modeling for performance evaluation. Discusses optimization approaches for distributed wireless sensor networks; high-performance and energy-efficient techniques at the architecture, middleware and software levels for parallel multicore-based embedded systems; and dynamic optimization methodologies. Highlights research challenges and future research directions. The book is primarily aimed at researchers in embedded systems; however, it will also serve as an invaluable reference to senior undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in embedded systems research.

Recent Advances In Parallel Virtual Machine And Message Passing Interface written by Yiannis Cotronis and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003-06-30 with Computers categories.
Parallel Virtual Machine (PVM) and Message Passing Interface (MPI) are the most frequently used tools for programming according to the message passing paradigm, which is considered one of the best ways to develop parallel appli- tions. This volume comprises 50 revised contributions presented at the Eighth - ropean PVM/MPI Users’ Group Meeting, which was held on Santorini (Thera), Greece,23–26September2001.TheconferencewasorganizedbytheDepartment of Informatics and Telecommunications, University of Athens, Greece. This conference has been previously held in Balatofured, ̈ Hungary (2000), Barcelona, Spain (1999), Liverpool, UK (1998), and Krakow, Poland (1997). The ?rst three conferences were devoted to PVM and were held at the TU Munich, Germany (1996), the ENS Lyon, France (1995), and the University of Rome (1994). This conference has become a forum for users and developers of PVM, MPI, and other message passing environments. Interaction between these groups has proved to be very useful for developing new ideas in parallel computing and for applying some of those already existent to new practical ?elds. The main topics of the meeting were evaluation and performance of PVM and MPI, extensions and improvements to PVM and MPI, algorithms using the message passing paradigm, andapplicationsinscienceandengineeringbasedonmessagepassing. The conference included one tutorial on MPI and 9 invited talks on advances in MPI, cluster computing, network computing, Grid computing, and parallel programming and programming systems. These proceedings contain papers on the 46 oral presentations together with 4 poster presentations.
