Inhaltsangabe:Einleitung: Durch die taylorsche Arbeitsteilung wurde über Generationen hinweg die Automatisierung in der Produktion vorangetrieben und auf eine Qualifizierung des Personals verzichtet. Die Grenzen dieses Vorgehens sind durch die wirtschaftlichen Erfolge und Rationalisierungen verdeckt gewesen. Entscheidend ist, daß durch die Massenproduktion die Kommunikation zwischen den Menschen zerstört wurde, so dass man in der Produktion inzwischen verstärkt über neue Formen der Arbeitsorganisation nachdenkt und diese bereits einsetzt. Eine entsprechende Entwicklung zeichnet sich im Bürobereich ab. Anfangs ebenfalls arbeitsteilig, sollten dann durch die Bürokommunikation die Prozesse am Arbeitsplatz optimiert werden. Da bei diesem Personal Computing Module eingesetzt werden, die einzelne Funktionen abdecken, lassen sich Steigerungen der Produktivität meist nur auf den einzelnen Arbeitsplatz bezogen feststellen. Der erwartete Produktivitätszuwachs durch den Einsatz der Bürokommunikation kann aber erst durch neue Konzepte, die interpersonelle Kommunikation, erreicht werden. Diese Orientierung an neuen Konzepten drückt sich u.a. auch darin aus, daß die "Natur als Vorbild für das Überleben im rauhen Umfeld" dient. Dies klingt sehr provokant, bedeutet aber letztendlich nichts anderes, als daß sich ein Unternehmen als lebendiger Organismus verstehen soll, bei dem jedes Organ im Vertrauen darauf arbeitet, daß auch die anderen ihren Job tun. In einer solchen Vertrauensorganisation mit echter Arbeitsteilung muß sich jeder Mitarbeiter als Dienstleister für die Kollegen begreifen. Probleme werden gemeinsam gelöst. Einen obersten Befehlshaber gibt es nicht, denn die Geheimnisse des dynamischen Gleichgewichts sind Netzwerke, Rückkopplung und Selbstorganisation. Dennoch begleiten Führungskräfte die Selbstorganisation von Gruppen und gewinnen dadurch noch an Bedeutung, weil sie durch ein gesundes Maß an Selbstkritik ein Group Think, welches jede Weiterentwicklung unmöglich machen würde, verhindern müssen. Aber die Manager der Zukunft müssen jetzt ihre Denkweise ändern. Manager denken oft noch rein deduktiv; ihre Stärke ist die Problemdefinition, die Bewertung verschiedener Lösungsansätze und die Suche nach geeigneten Lösungsansätzen. Um die Informationstechnologie effizient einzusetzen, muß aber auch induktiv gedacht werden, d.h.
