Il testo è frutto di più di un ventennio di ricerche e relativi articoli sulle "strutture di teatro" a Roma, privilegiando i complessi per la cultura derivati dal recupero di vecchi edifici industriali - come nel caso dell'Alpheus o del Teatro India al Lungotevere dei Papareschi in riva al Tevere. Una seconda "linea guida" è stata quella di illustrare i complessi che per le molteplici attività possono definirsi "Centri delle Arti", in quanto dotati di sale per la prosa, il cinema, le mostre d'arte ed eventualmente il concerto! Ne sono esempi eclatanti il Palazzo delle Esposizioni in via Nazionale; il Palazzo dei Congressi e l'Auditorium del Massimo all'EUR; nonché il nuovo Auditorium di Roma - Parco della Musica a ridosso di Villa Glori. In questa seconda edizione l'arco dei teatri presi in esame è stato ampliato, includendo strutture esemplari - come il Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, l'Accademia Nazionale di Danza all'Aventino, il Silvano Toti Globe Theatre ben inserito nel complesso di Villa Borghese. Si è dato spazio al Museo dell'Ara Pacis e relativa Sala Multimediale - in quanto ritenuta la più rilevante struttura d'arte sorta nella Capitale dalla fine della seconda Guerra Mondiale ad oggi. Parimenti si è ritenuto opportuno illustrare il Teatro Palladium, sia per le interessanti soluzioni architettoniche risalenti agli anni '30, sia per essere stato recuperato ed inglobato nella Terza Università di Roma. Va anche fatta menzione del Teatro dell'Angelo - in restauro al tempo della prima edizione dei "Teatri di Roma", ed oggi punto di riferimento culturale dell'area Prati. Fernando Bevilacqua è nato a Roma il 9 agosto 1924. Ha conseguito la Laurea di dottore in Scienze Politiche all'Università di Roma nel 1963 e l'abilitazione all'insegnamento di "Psicologia Sociale e Pubbliche Relazioni" nel 1976. Successivamente ha frequentato il biennio della "Scuola di Perfezionamento in Filosofia", con indirizzo di Estetica. Ha insegnato "Storia e Letteratura" per un quinquennio in Licei Artistici parificati e privati. Ha svolto mansioni di Addetto alle Esercitazioni presso la Cattedra di "Storia dei Partiti e Movimenti Politici" della Facoltà di Scienze Politiche dell'Università di Roma negli anni Settanta. Inoltre - in qualità di Docente Aggiunto - ha insegnato "Storia dei Partiti" all'Accademia del Corpo delle Guardie di Pubblica Sicurezza dal 1971 al 1979. È stato responsabile della Commissione Spettacolo del Partito Liberale Italiano dal 1974 al 1982. Dal 1974 al 1998 ha scritto per le pagine dello spettacolo de "Il Tempo" recensioni teatrali e articoli illustranti le caratteristiche architettoniche di numerosi teatri di Roma. Dall'estero ha dato notizia dei "Centri delle Arti" di Londra, Parigi, Varsavia, Mosca, New York. Dall'aprile 1987 al 1998 è stato titolare della critica teatrale de "La Voce Repubblicana", e dal 1990 collabora al mensile "Sipario", con l'incarico di seguire le stagioni teatrali dell'Eliseo e del Piccolo Eliseo. Inoltre è critico teatrale del quotidiano "L'Opinione", del citato "Sipario" e del sito internet Visum. È intervenuto su "Il Giornale" con articoli riguardanti specificamente l'estetica della Capitale. È autore del volume "Cinque rivoluzioni fra due guerre", edito da Giovanni Semerano nel 1967; nonché di Saggi sulla storia e Documenti del Partito Liberale Italiano inseriti in opere collettanee denominate "La ricostituzione dei partiti democratici", "L'arcipelago democratico", "I partiti italiani tra declino e riforma", stampati dall'Editore Bulzoni di Roma rispettivamente nel 1978, nel 1981 e nel 1987.
