Technology-enhanced learning is a timely topic, the importance of which is recognized by educational researchers, practitioners, software designers, and policy makers. This volume presents and discusses current trends and issues in technology-enhanced learning from a European research and development perspective. This multifaceted and multidisciplinary topic is considered from four different viewpoints, each of which constitutes a separate section in the book. This book is based on the 9th International Conference in Methodologies and Intelligent Systems for Technology Enhanced Learning, which was hosted by the University of Salamanca and held in Ávila (Spain) from 26th to 28th June 2019. Expanding on the topics of the evidence-based TEL workshops series, it provides an open forum for discussing intelligent technologies for learning. In particular, it discusses recommendation mechanisms that enable us to tailor learning to different contexts and people, e.g., by considering their personality; and learning analytics that help augment learning opportunities, e.g., by supporting the adaptation of the learning material.
