Telemedicine For Children S Health written by Fabio Capello and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-07-30 with Medical categories.

This book describes in detail the potential role of ICT and electronic systems, together with the application of Web 2.0 technologies, in telepediatrics and child health. Rather than simply proposing engineering solutions that may soon become outdated, it is designed to address those real needs that telemedicine and developers are asked to meet. The orientation of the book is very much toward primary care and both low and high-income settings as well as extreme or complex scenarios are considered. The first two sections of the book describe different fields of application, such as the community, the hospital and children with chronic illnesses or special needs, and examine technical issues. The use of telemedicine in delivery of care in extreme rural settings and developing countries is then discussed, with attention also to major emergencies and humanitarian crises. The closing chapters consider the role of modern technologies in the education of caregivers who work with children. Child health is a crucial issue in both industrialized and developing countries. Telemedicine for Children’s Health will be an excellent guide to the potential value of telemedicine devices in reducing the burden for children and parents and in offering quick and concrete solutions in low-resource scenarios.

As we continue to debate the issues of health care in our nation, I began to explore some of the very funny moments I observed and not-so-funny consequences of the drama that is unfolding and is being played out on our national televisions, our political capital, our streets, our homes, and by our politicians and our citizens. Names and identities are often given for a reason. Without a name or identity, we are all beings roaming this earth. Let's imagine for a moment a world where no names or identities are attached to anything. Imagine waking up and all your family members, friends, pets, things, etc., have no names, no identity. Imagine how chaotic your day would start off. You walk into a hospital full of patients with no identities, no names, a nursery full of newborns with no names, no identities, a home-care setting full of home-care patients with no names, no identities. I am sure that you are getting the drift by now. Yes, chaos would ensue, to say the least. Now you get the gist as to why we are so attached to the idea of names and identities. Yes, we name and identify people and things for a reason. Identities are given to people and things for a very good reason. Depending on your culture, there are also meanings attached to naming and identifying people and things. Some cultures observe a child and choose a name that suits that child's personality. When Kate, the Duchess of England, and Prince William named their newborn child George the III, it was suggested that the name was chosen due to several reasons as reported below.

This report, based on the findings of the 2013 survey of CoIA countries by the WHO Global Observatory for eHealth, shows how, on a daily basis, eHealth innovations are improving access to care and assisting women to take control of their own health. Advances such as these are providing pregnant women, mothers and young children with better health care services and advice. Case studies illustrate how, through the use of ICTs, health-care professionals and the women and children they care for are better able to share important health information as well as communicate among themselves more easily and effectively. This work has been so successful that what began as local projects have now been adopted nationally.

For many children and teens, primary care clinicians are the first to notice and help with mental health issues. This guide helps primary care pediatricians, family doctors, nurse practitioners, and other professionals identify, treat, and prevent mental health problems as well as promote good mental health in their patients. The authors come from different medical specialties but emphasize common factors and elements in approaching mental health care in the primary practice setting. Clinicians will gain insight into effective methods for helping patients and families share mental health concerns, learn about mental health issues, and develop positive attitudes about seeking treatment from specialty providers. They will also learn how to more effectively deal with issues that are below the level of a diagnosable disorder and use early, first-line therapeutic strategies for common mental health disorders. Also included are techniques for supporting patients and families in maintaining positive emotional and behavioral changes that resulted from specialty treatment with other providers.

Telemedicine, which involves electronic communications and software, provides the same clinical services to patients without the requirement of an in-person visit. Essentially, this is considered remote healthcare. Though telemedicine is not a new practice, it has become an increasingly popular form of healthcare delivery due to current events, including the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only are visits being moved onto virtual platforms, but additional materials and correspondence can remain in the digital sphere. Virtual lab results, digital imaging, medical diagnosis, and video consultations are just a few examples that encompass how telemedicine can be used for increased accessibility in healthcare delivery. With telemedicine being used in both the diagnosis and treatment of patients, technology in healthcare can be implemented at almost any phase of the patient experience. As healthcare delivery follows the digital shift, it is important to understand the technologies, benefits and challenges, and overall impacts of the remote healthcare experience. The Research Anthology on Telemedicine Efficacy, Adoption, and Impact on Healthcare Delivery presents the latest research on best practices for adopting telehealth into medical practices and its efficacy and solutions for the improvement of telemedicine, as well as addresses emerging challenges and opportunities, including issues such as securing patient data and providing healthcare accessibility to rural populations. Covering important themes that include doctor-patient relationships, tele-wound monitoring, and telemedicine regulations, this book is essential for healthcare professionals, doctors, medical students, academic and medical libraries, medical technologists, practitioners, stakeholders, researchers, academicians, and students interested in the emerging technological developments and solutions within the field of telemedicine.
