Lezley McSpadden never imagined that her son's name would inspire the resounding chants of protesters in Ferguson, Missouri. In Tell the truth & shame the devil, McSpadden picks up the pieces of the tragedy that shook her life and the country to its core, and reveals the unforgettable story of her life, her son, and their truth."--Provided by publisher.

A prominent Jew says the "Holocaust" is a propaganda myth which has turned into an extortion racket; Germany was mostly innocent for the outbreak of WWII; Hitler has been unjustly vilified; a powerful Jewish-dominated plutocracy has been behind the World Wars, just like behind many revolutions, wars, and other types of bloody "regime changes."

He then engages writers who challenge the search for truth: Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Iris Murdoch, Wole Soyinka, Philip Pullman, and Anne Carson. The third section of the book consists of a single lengthy essay that pursues the provocative question of whether today's computer technology helps or hinders us in our pursuit of truth."--Jacket.

Early American Proverbs And Proverbial Phrases written by Bartlett Jere Whiting and has been published by Harvard University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1977 with Language Arts & Disciplines categories.
p.B. J. Whiting savors proverbial expressions and has devoted much of his lifetime to studying and collecting them; no one knows more about British and American proverbs than he. The present volume, based upon writings in British North America from the earliest settlements to approximately 1820, complements his and Archer Taylor's Dictionary of American Proverbs and Proverbial Phrases, 1820-1880. It differs from that work and from other standard collections, however, in that its sources are primarily not "literary" but instead workaday writings - letters, diaries, histories, travel books, political pamphlets, and the like. The authors represent a wide cross-section of the populace, from scholars and statesmen to farmers, shopkeepers, sailors, and hunters. Mr. Whiting has combed all the obvious sources and hundreds of out-of-the-way publications of local journals and historical societies. This body of material, "because it covers territory that has not been extracted and compiled in a scholarly way before, can justly be said to be the most valuable of all those that Whiting has brought together," according to Albert B. Friedman. "What makes the work important is Whiting's authority: a proverb or proverbial phrase is what BJW thinks is a proverb or proverbial phrase. There is no objective operative definition of any value, no divining rod; his tact, 'feel, ' experience, determine what's the real thing and what is spurious."

This book reports on the growing body of knowledge on these key self-c onscious emotions, integrating findings from the authors' original res earch program with other data emerging from clinical, social, personal ity, and developmental psychology. The authors demonstrate that shame and guilt have significant and surprisingly disparate implications for many aspects of human functioning, with particular relevance for inte rpersonal relationships. The book examines such compelling topics as t he varying levels of empathy shown by "shame-prone" and "guilt-prone" individuals; links to anger, hostility, and aggression; and effects of shame and guilt on psychological adaptation and moral behavior. Clini cal applications of the research are discussed in depth, as are method ological and assessment issues; developmental considerations; and impl ications for parenting, education, and social policy.
