Throughout my years of practice, people have often asked me why I decided to specialise in sexual health. The question is not surprising given that sexual health doctors are not held in the same regard as those who work in other medical specialties ... We sexual health physicians don't grow rich, but we have a wealth of stories-wry, funny, and sad-all illustrative of the human condition. Author and retired sexual health doctor David Bradford relates a remarkable set of stories about growing up as a gay child in a strongly Christian family, struggling with his sexuality, serving as an army doctor in Vietnam during the Vietnam War, working as Director of the Melbourne Communicable Diseases Centre at the time of the arrival of HIV/AIDS, and in private practice with hundreds of AIDS patients, many of whom did not survive. Here is a humane, wise, thoughtful voice, always conscious of the wonderful, the absurd, the fragile nature of life. David Bradford's story tells us much about who we are, how we've changed, and where some at least of our scars have come from. David Bradford was a gay Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS Physician in Melbourne and Cairns. He graduated as a doctor in 1965. After ten difficult years, including Vietnam, he discovered his specialty. During the AIDS epidemic, his patients became his life. In retirement, he and his husband live in Melbourne.

Many people have told us that we should write a book, specifically speaking of the miracles, visions, dreams and messages God has given us personally and through our friends and family following our youngest daughter Christy's tragic auto accident and death at the age of 20. Including a visit by our daughter Christy from heaven, not to us but to a woman that walked away from her faith many years earlier. But God chose to give her 3 dreams, incredible dreams with details that she could have never known. The dreams ended in a message for us from Christy, a message that included an answer to a private prayer that I prayed on the night of her dreams. We can now see that God's miracles began early in our lives but before going further we want to be emphatically clear, the dreams, visions, messages, miracles and Godly inspired events provided to us personally, and for us through those that God has brought to us, are assembled in this book for you, to encourage you as you make your way through this life which is nothing less than a march through enemy territory. To help you take heart and to give you strength, as God's word says in (JOS 1:05) "No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you". As you read you too will see that many of these occurrences are incredible. Nothing less than God's hand in action can explain what we have seen with our own eyes and what has occurred.

Olympic Gold Medalist Picabo Street is once again on the rise, ready to face the 2002 Olympics and tell her extraordinary story "Picabo Street...is the kind of athlete for which the Olympics were invented."USA Today "Street...has been performing at Porsche speed...dominating women's downhill... [a] comeback queen."Glamour "Picabo rules... America's irrepressible ski champion."Skiing Olympic Champion Picabo Street is golden once again The moment she burst onto the world stage at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, 23-year-old speed demon Picabo Street ignited a fire of excitement in the media and in the hearts of fans that continues to burn today. Free-spirited and outspoken, Street was a new kind of female athlete and a new kind of role model. Street followed her silver medal win with two straight World Cup downhill titlesa feat unmatched in American skiingand finally, the ultimate Olympic gold medal win in Nagano in 1998. But success had its price. Just one month after her gold medal win, Street careened off course in a race in Switzerland, snapping her left femur in two, shredding the ligament in her right knee, and leaving her future in peril. Now, after two years of excruciating pain, grueling rehabilitation, and stunning personal growth, Street is making a comeback, ready to face the 2002 Winter Olympics and ready to tell her inspiring story. In this powerful, honest autobiography, Street shares her coming-of-age experience, revealing how adversity shaped a rebellious tomboy into a champion athlete and compassionate woman, in harmony with her family and at peace with her fear of failure. Here, for the first time, Street addresses the pressures exerted on her by her ski sponsors that may have been partly to blame for her terrible crash; the scandals surrounding the Salt Lake City Olympic Committee; and how she overcame a lengthy, debilitating depression. In the tradition of Lance Armstrong's It's Not About the Bike and Greg Louganis's Breaking the Surface, Picabo: Nothing to Hide is a poignant, intimate account of a woman forced to rebuild herselfbody, mind, and soul. "I learned what all girls need to learn: that you can kick ass, and you should never be ashamed of it."Picabo Street
