En los ultimos anos, muchos paises han adoptado nuevas leyes o han sustancialmente modificado su legislacion vigente en materia de ordenacion y proteccion de los animales silvestres. El proposito del presente estudio es evaluar la situacion actual de las leyes relativas a la fauna en el mundo, con particular atencion a las innovaciones juridicas del ultimo decenio. Mientras el estudio se centra en el analisis de las legislaciones nacionales, tambien examina brevemente los principales rasgos de los tratados internacionales relacionados con la fauna, destacando los vinculos entre los instrumentos locales, nacionales y globales. Si bien las leyes recientes suelen conservar muchos de los elementos basicos de las leyes anteriores, a la vez contienen importantes innovaciones y reflejan nuevas estrategias en cuanto a la conservacion y a la ordenacion de la vida silvestre. En particular, estan orientadas hacia una mayor proteccion de la biodiversidad, abarcan los factores que representan amenazas para la fauna dentro y fuera de las areas protegidas, hacen mayor hincapie en la planificacion de la ordenacion, dan mas importancia a las dimensiones socioculturales de la ordenacion de la fauna, refuerzan la participacion de las personas involucradas y de las partes interesadas en las tomas de decisiones, y permiten que las comunidades locales puedan aprovechar los beneficios economicos que se derivan de los recursos silvestres."

El derecho de las montanas todavia esta en panales. Pocos paises han aprobado leyes especificas para las montanas, y la proteccion y el desarrollo de las zonas montanosas mas bien se atienden a traves de leyes sectoriales ya vigentes. Sin embargo, algunos paises como Argelia, Osetia del Norte-Alania (Federacion de Rusia), Francia, Georgia, Italia, Suiza y Ucrania, han promulgado instrumentos legislativos que se ocupan especificamente de las montanas, y otros paises estan elaborando legislaciones de este tipo. La convergencia de estas iniciativas parece indicar una tendencia a la elaboracion gradual de mas leyes relacionadas con las montanas en los proximos anos. La presente publicacion observa la trayectoria de la legislacion en materia de zonas montanosas. La primera parte presenta un panorama general de los principales elementos de los textos juridicos especificos sobre las montanas, de las esferas internacional y nacional. La segunda parte contiene diez estudios de caso breves, de paises en los que se ha aprobado o propuesto una legislacion para las montanas."

The 2020 edition of The State of World Fisheries and Aquaculture has a particular focus on sustainability. This reflects a number of specific considerations. First, 2020 marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries (the Code). Second, several Sustainable Development Goal indicators mature in 2020. Third, FAO hosted the International Symposium on Fisheries Sustainability in late 2019, and fourth, 2020 sees the finalization of specific FAO guidelines on sustainable aquaculture growth, and on social sustainability along value chains. While Part 1 retains the format of previous editions, the structure of the rest of the publication has been revised. Part 2 opens with a special section marking the twenty fifth anniversary of the Code. It also focuses on issues coming to the fore, in particular, those related to Sustainable Development Goal 14 and its indicators for which FAO is the “custodian” agency. In addition, Part 2 covers various aspects of fisheries and aquaculture sustainability. The topics discussed range widely, from data and information systems to ocean pollution, product legality, user rights and climate change adaptation. Part 3 now forms the final part of the publication, covering projections and emerging issues such as new technologies and aquaculture biosecurity. It concludes by outlining steps towards a new vision for capture fisheries. The State of World Fisheries and Aquaculture aims to provide objective, reliable and up-to-date information to a wide audience – policymakers, managers, scientists, stakeholders and indeed everyone interested in the fisheries and aquaculture sector.

Los instrumentos internacionales de derechos humanos, medioambiente y desarrollo sostenible proclaman el principio de no discriminacion por razon de sexo o de genero.
