As globalization continues to widen its reaches to the four corners of our planet terrorism has emerged as a major risk factor for organizations doing business in today s international marketplace. The economic cost of the cataclysmic September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon was approximately $70 billion. The impact of terrorism has reverberated around the world as attacks continue to take place in far-flung areas. An emerging risk now confronts corporate and organization leaders. Do they have the core competencies to deal with this risk that claims lives and destroys organizational resources? Alternatively, have they become vulnerable by their inability to implement modalities for detecting, minimizing, and recovering from this danger? The perception of a lack of private sector preparedness in managing terrorist risk forms the catalyst for this book. Readers are provided with a model made up of nine essential identified measures from which corporate and other organizational leaders can establish a viable terrorist risk management program. Challenges Faced By Iraq War Reservists And Their Families written by Ken J. Walden and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-09-05 with Religion categories.
The Iraq War caused emotional, physical, psychiatric, relational, and spiritual challenges to an untold number of military reservists and their families. This book takes you through the war's critical stages of pre-deployment, deployment, and post-deployment. Reservists' families, usually living far from military bases with professional staffing, are often among the most affected wounded of the Iraq War. Injured reservists often return home to discover that civilian medical resources are insufficient and civic organizations unequipped to help manage the range of combat-related wounds and psychiatric trauma, especially post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury. The lack of needed services causes alienation between reservists and their families in relation to the civilian communities in which they live. Using a practical theological method, this book analyzes the various impacts of the Iraq War and recommends a soul care approach for chaplains and pastors to use in support of reservists and their families suffering from their experiences of the Iraq War, and to guide any persons interested in participating in such support.
