Maynard Steele wanted only the best for his son, J.R. Maynard's disastrous childhood and the death of his wife led him to hate God. This hatred had changed him, though he couldn't see it. While J.R. knew his father loved him, he resented the way his dad pushed him to be the best. In addition, his dad would never talk about his mother or grandfather and J.R. was at the age where he desired to know more information than his dad was willing to share. Known as a stellar quarterback, it was J.R.'s turn to wait as the senior quarterback was returning for his final season. This infuriated Maynard as he had never seen his son on the bench. Seth Cutler, however, was an excellent quarterback and as his friendship with J.R. gets stronger, the relationship between J.R. and his dad intensifies. Unlike what Maynard has taught J.R., for Seth, football is not everything in life. J.R., along with his good friends Joe and Manny begin spending more time with Seth and learn a great deal more than they bargain for. Through wins and losses on the field, normal desires of teenagers, and tragedy, lives are changed. Maynard and J.R. have to come to grips with each other and their family situation. J.R., Joe, and Manny fight through their high school years and into college trying to stay on the right path. Seth, with the help of his cousin Andie, help J.R. discover God's plan and purpose for his life and it is a plan and purpose J.R. or his father would have never dreamed of!

Innovation And Entrepreneurship written by Peter Drucker and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-09-15 with Business & Economics categories.

How can management be developed to create the greatest wealth for society as a whole? This is the question Peter Drucker sets out to answer in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. A brilliant, mould-breaking attack on management orthodoxy it is one of Drucker’s most important books, offering an excellent overview of some of his main ideas. He argues that what defines an entrepreneur is their attitude to change: ‘the entrepreneur always searches for change, responds to it and exploits it as an opportunity’. To exploit change, according to Drucker, is to innovate. Stressing the importance of low-tech entrepreneurship, the challenge of balancing technological possibilities with limited resources, and the organisation as a learning organism, he concludes with a vision of an entrepreneurial society where individuals increasingly take responsibility for their own learning and careers. Winning Opportunities written by Raphael H. Cohen and has been published by Dog Ear Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-04 with categories.

This book finally gives innovators an alternative to the painful writing of business plans. Not only an alternative but also a more effective, faster and easier way to convince investors and decision-makers: the Opportunity Case is a more user-friendly way of analyzing and presenting a project, which has been quickly adopted by many multinational corporations, public sector organizations as well as start-ups. It also addresses a central problem in existing businesses: many people have good ideas but very few of these innovations are actually implemented. The content of this book proposes the first practical process that has been demonstrated to boost innovation by up to 56%. "Winning Opportunities" presents the IpOp Model that outlines in a very concrete and down-to-earth way, the core process of innovation that successful entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs use, even unconsciously. The model acts as a simple hands-on guide for innovators who want to increase their chances of success. This structured and user-friendly roadmap helps innovators turn an idea into a tangible opportunity, outline measurable deliverables, learn how to address all the key issues critical to the success of their project, and identify early in the process whether an opportunity is worth pursuing. To illustrate its concepts, a large number of real-life examples are included as inspiration to the reader. Nespresso's strategy is used throughout the book to demonstrate each key step of the IpOp Model. It is the first time in print one can read about the strategy that shaped the fascinating success story of Nespresso, a $3 billion business with double-digit annual growth. Both Nespresso and the IpOp Model were developed in Switzerland, which was recently ranked No. 1 in innovation worldwide. Besides helping start-up initiators, the IpOp Model, as best practice for innovation, improves and complements the existing selection of innovation processes used by large organizations (staged gate, six sigma, etc.). Since learning is easier when emotions are included in the process, each chapter is preceded by a joke illustrating its serious content. The author, Prof. Raphael H Cohen took advantage of his 30+ years experience as serial entrepreneur, active CEO and business angel to write this book to encapsulate some of the key messages he has been teaching in top business schools and corporate environments since 2001. He is a keynote speaker and an expert in both professional agility and "weapons of mass innovation." Besides his responsibility as academic director of MBA programs, he provides executive education, mentoring, consulting and management services for senior executives, bankers, directors and entrepreneurs. He serves on the board of directors of several companies, including a Swiss bank, and is a regular contributor to several business publications. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics in 1982"

Graduate employability is a significant concern for most higher education institutions worldwide. During the last two decades, universities have attempted to implement their employability agendas to support their students to enhance employment outcomes. However, within today’s globalized labour markets, employability has gone far beyond the notion of obtaining stable and permanent employment. This book explores graduates’ experiences in developing and utilizing employability capitals for career development and success in different labour markets. In the chapters, the graduate contributors narrate and discuss how they negotiated their employability on the transitions across jobs, occupational sectors and labour markets. The chapters address key issues, including how employability is understood by graduates of different disciplines, at different career stages and in different contexts; how they develop and utilise such capitals along with strategies to negotiate their employability; and what can be done to move the higher education employability agenda forward. The book presents international insights and perspectives into transitions from education to work and career development across the labour markets, as well as calls for improving the graduate employability agenda. It is an invaluable resource for researchers and academics, university leaders, policymakers and students who are concerned about graduate employability.
