They had plans for Desmond. At thirteen, he's never known anything except the program and the doctors on the team. Now, after waking up alone, thousands of miles away from the laboratory he called home, his only goal is to survive, at any cost. Meanwhile, Trevor Cyrus has his own problems as he tries to put some distance between himself and his psychotic criminal bosses, but saying no to their latest assignment isn't an option. Eve is a talented thief, but her latest potential score may not be the sort of thing she’d want to profit from. And Jeremy Cyrus, a government-contracted corporate mercenary, has his eye on career advancement, and finding the leadership behind Anomaly, the country's biggest domestic terror group, is the key. With Anomaly making moves against one of Chicago’s biggest crime syndicates and Homeland Security closing in, the race is on to get Desmond to safety—or to stop him.

When information in the data warehouse is processed, it follows a definite pattern. An unexpected deviation in the data pattern from the usual behavior is called an anomaly. The anomaly in the data is also referred to as noise, outlier, spammer, deviations, novelties and exceptions. Identification of the rare items, events, observations, patterns which raise suspension by differing significantly from the majority of data is called anomaly detection. With progress in the technologies and the widespread use of data for the purpose for business the increase in the spams faced by the individuals and the companies are increasing day by day. This noisy data has boomed as a major problem in various areas such as Internet of Things, web service, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Deep learning, Image Processing, Cloud Computing, Audio processing, Video Processing, VoIP, Data Science, Wireless Sensor etc. Identifying the anomaly data and filtering them before processing is a major challenge for the data analyst. This anomaly is unavoidable in all areas of research. This book covers the techniques and algorithms for detecting the deviated data. This book will mainly target researchers and higher graduate learners in computer science and data science.

Excerpt from On-the-Fly Detection of Access Anomalies In shared-memory parallel programs, a common and vexing 'class of parallel bugs arise from access anomalies. By shared-memory parallel programs, we mean programs in which concurrent execution streams directly read and write shared-memory. An access anomaly occurs when two concurrent execution streams both write (or one reads and the other writes) About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. With the rapid rise in the ubiquity and sophistication of Internet technology and the accompanying growth in the number of network attacks, network intrusion detection has become increasingly important. Anomaly-based network intrusion detection refers to finding exceptional or nonconforming patterns in network traffic data compared to normal behavior. Finding these anomalies has extensive applications in areas such as cyber security, credit card and insurance fraud detection, and military surveillance for enemy activities. Network Anomaly Detection: A Machine Learning Perspective presents machine learning techniques in depth to help you more effectively detect and counter network intrusion. In this book, you’ll learn about: Network anomalies and vulnerabilities at various layers The pros and cons of various machine learning techniques and algorithms A taxonomy of attacks based on their characteristics and behavior Feature selection algorithms How to assess the accuracy, performance, completeness, timeliness, stability, interoperability, reliability, and other dynamic aspects of a network anomaly detection system Practical tools for launching attacks, capturing packet or flow traffic, extracting features, detecting attacks, and evaluating detection performance Important unresolved issues and research challenges that need to be overcome to provide better protection for networks Examining numerous attacks in detail, the authors look at the tools that intruders use and show how to use this knowledge to protect networks. The book also provides material for hands-on development, so that you can code on a testbed to implement detection methods toward the development of your own intrusion detection system. A New York Times bestseller and a "Best Thriller of the Year" Winner of the Goncourt Prize and now an international phenomenon, this dizzying, whip-smart novel blends crime, fantasy, sci-fi, and thriller as it plumbs the mysteries surrounding a Paris-New York flight. Who would we be if we had made different choices? Told that secret, left that relationship, written that book? We all wonder—the passengers of Air France 006 will find out. In their own way, they were all living double lives when they boarded the plane: Blake, a respectable family man who works as a contract killer. Slimboy, a Nigerian pop star who uses his womanizing image to hide that he’s gay. Joanna, a Black American lawyer pressured to play the good old boys’ game to succeed with her Big Pharma client. Victor Miesel, a critically acclaimed yet largely obscure writer suddenly on the precipice of global fame. About to start their descent to JFK, they hit a shockingly violent patch of turbulence, emerging on the other side to a reality both perfectly familiar and utterly strange. As it charts the fallout of this logic-defying event, The Anomaly takes us on a journey from Lagos and Mumbai to the White House and a top-secret hangar. In Hervé Le Tellier’s most ambitious work yet, high literature follows the lead of a bingeable Netflix series, drawing on the best of genre fiction from “chick lit” to mystery, while also playfully critiquing their hallmarks. An ingenious, timely variation on the doppelgänger theme, it taps into the parts of ourselves that elude us most.

Numerical Methods For Inverse Scattering Problems written by Jingzhi Li and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-09-07 with Science categories.

This book highlights the latest developments on the numerical methods for inverse scattering problems associated with acoustic, electromagnetic, and elastic waves. Inverse scattering problems are concerned with identifying unknown or inaccessible objects by wave probing data, which makes possible many industrial and engineering applications including radar and sonar, medical imaging, nondestructive testing, remote sensing, and geophysical exploration. The mathematical study of inverse scattering problems is an active field of research. This book presents a comprehensive and unified mathematical treatment of various inverse scattering problems mainly from a numerical reconstruction perspective. It highlights the collaborative research outputs by the two groups of the authors yet surveys and reviews many existing results by global researchers in the literature. The book consists of three parts respectively corresponding to the studies on acoustic, electromagnetic, and elastic scattering problems. In each part, the authors start with in-depth theoretical and computational treatments of the forward scattering problems and then discuss various numerical reconstruction schemes for the associated inverse scattering problems in different scenarios of practical interest. In addition, the authors provide an overview of the existing results in the literature by other researchers. This book can serve as a handy reference for researchers or practitioners who are working on or implementing inverse scattering methods. It can also serve as a graduate textbook for research students who are interested in working on numerical algorithms for inverse scattering problems.

Anomaly Detection In Random Heterogeneous Media written by Martin Simon and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-07-23 with Mathematics categories.

This monograph is concerned with the analysis and numerical solution of a stochastic inverse anomaly detection problem in electrical impedance tomography (EIT). Martin Simon studies the problem of detecting a parameterized anomaly in an isotropic, stationary and ergodic conductivity random field whose realizations are rapidly oscillating. For this purpose, he derives Feynman-Kac formulae to rigorously justify stochastic homogenization in the case of the underlying stochastic boundary value problem. The author combines techniques from the theory of partial differential equations and functional analysis with probabilistic ideas, paving the way to new mathematical theorems which may be fruitfully used in the treatment of the problem at hand. Moreover, the author proposes an efficient numerical method in the framework of Bayesian inversion for the practical solution of the stochastic inverse anomaly detection problem.
