When a dying man spends his last years writing a book, people often take notice. When the book claims to reveal the secrets of the Book of Revelation, even more interest is generated. The Apocalypse-Letter by Letter, by Steven Paul, has been described as "a masterpiece." In it, the author pens a series of letters to his brother-in-law to show how the Bible contains all the information a reader would need to decode the symbols, forms and sequence of events in the Apocalypse. Paul's literary genius is as fascinating as the subject is compelling. His unique knowledge of history, the Church, military strategy, literary forms, and wit and humor combine to take the reader on a tour of the Bible's most enigmatic book. After being diagnosed with cancer, the author sent a series of typewritten letters to his brother-in-law. Many of the letters included example passages handwritten in ancient Greek, to show how translators had often distorted the original meaning of the scripture. As Paul lay dying in a hospital bed, he gave instructions to his brother-in-law about how to assemble the information he had written into a book. Alas, he had only transmitted half of it when he passed away. Then handwritten notes were found near his manual typewriter and the brother-in-law spent the next many months entering the entire project into a computer along with the previously received letters.

The Apocalyptic Letter To The Galatians written by James M. Scott and has been published by Lexington Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-05-18 with Religion categories.

One “apocalyptic” reading of Paul’s letter to the Galatians has been attempted before and is now widely accepted, but that reading is not based on a thorough engagement with Jewish apocalyptic traditions of the Second Temple period. In this book, James M. Scott argues that there is an essential continuity between Galatians and Paul’s Jewish past, and that Paul uses the apocalyptic Epistle of Enoch (1 Enoch 92–105) as a literary model for his own letter. Scott first contextualizes the Epistle of Enoch using the entire Enochic corpus and explores the extensive similarities (and some significant differences) between the Enochic tradition and early Stoicism. Then he turns to deal specifically with Paul’s letter to the Galatians, showing that, despite their obvious differences, the two apocalyptic letters have some remarkable features in common as well. This approach to the interpretation of Galatians fundamentally stands to change the way biblical scholars understand Paul’s letter and the gospel that he preached. Paul is “within Judaism,” if the net for what is included in “Judaism” is wide enough to encompass the Enochic tradition.

Excerpt from The Letters to the Seven Churches of Asia and Their Place in the Plan of the Apocalypse This book is a very imperfect essay towards the understanding of that synthesis, which now lies before us as a possibility of the immediate future. How imperfect it is has become clearer to the writer, as in the writing of it he came to comprehend better the nature of the Apocalypse. A haunting and darkly funny post-apocalyptic graphic novel that follows an unusual postal worker on his very bizarre mail route. In the blasted ruins of what was once a picture-perfect suburb, nothing stirs—except the postman. Clad in a hazmat suit and mounted on a bicycle, he is still delivering the mail, nuclear apocalypse or no nuclear apocalypse. One family has taken refuge in an underground fallout shelter, and to them he brings—or, rather, shouts through the air vent—a series of odd, anonymous letters. They describe the family’s prosperous past life, and then begin to get stranger.... This pioneering graphic novel was created in 1981 by famed French cartoonist Gébé, a longtime contributor to Charlie Hebdo, and has never before been available in English. Letter to Survivors is a blackhearted delight, at once a witty metafictional game of stories within stories and a scathing, urgent send-up of consumerist excess and nuclear peril: funnier, and scarier, than ever.

Anyone familiar with the Rastafari movement and its connection with the Bible is struck by the prevalence of messianic I-locution found in both. As the phenomenon is important in the canonical Testaments, more so within the New Testament, this study seeks to investigate its significance in certain epistolary pieces (Romans 7:14-25 ; 15:14-33), the bio-Narratives and the Apocalypse in their historical and cultural milieu. The next stage of the investigation then compares the findings of the aforementioned New Testament books with corresponding statements of the Rasta community, in order to determine their relevance for the ongoing Anglophone theological enterprise. In sum, this study seeks to bring into critical dialogue the permutative messianic 'I' of the New Testament with the self-understanding of Rastafari.
