Perversity Think Tank attempts to formulate a philosophical conception of sexual perversion. In this it is the black mirror of one of the most famous texts in the history of philosophy. Plato's Symposium sought to answer a simple question: What is love? Perversity Think Tank begins from an equally simple but darker place: What is perversity?Necrophilia, pedophilia, bestiality, feederism, voyeurism, fetishism -- how is it possible to abstract a single category of sexual behavior from so many unusual and often sordid proclivities? What does a flasher or a groper have in common with, say, the willing "victim" who undertook with a cannibal to cook and eat his own penis?Perversity Think Tank dissects a wealth of examples drawn from literature, art, individual experience, and real-world incidents reported on the blog PervScan.com. However, far from being a "book of the blog," Perversity Think Tank utilizes PervScan the way Freud did his case histories. It serves as a research laboratory for the entirely new vision of perversion presented in the book. And whereas a blog is typically improvisational in tone, like a lab note, Perversity Think Tank is a taut, deeply considered analysis. Like Supervert's previous works, it makes full use of an arsenal of techniques -- non-linearity, juxataposition, erasure -- derived from vanguard aesthetics. The result is not only a novel approach to perversion but a new sort of work that is simultaneously philosophy, literature, and fuck knows.

Perversion And The Art Of Persecution written by Sean Noah Walsh and has been published by Lexington Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012 with Philosophy categories.

In this critical work on the political thought of Leo Strauss, Sean Noah Walsh addresses Leo Strauss's claims about esotericism in the philosophic texts of Plato. He challenges Strauss's understanding of esoteric writing as an attempt by Plato to secretly encode the highest truths "exclusively between the lines" in order to avoid persecution. Indeed, through the character of Socrates, the speaker with whom Plato is inextricably associated, Walsh asserts that Plato's exoteric writings were sufficiently incendiary and provocative to demonstrate that a fear of persecution was not his highest priority. The politics that follow from Strauss's thought depend on the interpretation of these Platonic philosophical bases and by analyzing how the problem of fear has been confronted in the works of Plato and Leo Strauss, Walsh offers a direct and thorough account of the politics that emerge from Strauss's esoteric reading of political philosophy. Applying Lacanian psychoanalysis, Walsh investigates the discourse of Straussian esotericism. and examines Plato's writing for examples of exoteric risk, subjecting both Plato and Strauss's writings to Lacan's psychoanalytic technique for interpreting the function of desire in discourse. Given the continuing influence of Strauss's ideas on contemporary politics, particularly within American foreign policy, Walsh's examination of this Straussian esotericism for these effects will prove an interesting read for political theorists, international relations scholars, and philosophers alike.

A Perverse Romance is a satirical tale of artist Hephzibah Brown, who is persuaded by Cedric, the Imp of Perversity, to follow him to the recently independent Ghana, following with the temptation that they will compose a tourist book for him to write and for her to illustrate. She does follow, but knowing his unreliability, she changes it to a book about tourists—one a pragmatist and the other an idealist. And more than this, her tourists will be women. The novel becomes an examination of real life being a form of transience. How I use satire: Satire is the uncomfortable life of being disturbed but draws to our notice the human capacity of doubling our subjective thinking. This is a philosophical impact, which philosopher Thomas Nagel brought to my attention in mind and cosmos (materialism): “Subtracts from the physical world as its major object is everything mental—consciousness—meaning intention or purpose.” It is the absence known but ignored too hard. Subjectivity becomes fictive but remains to challenge through satire.
