Even witches and werewolves need to retire sometime—but they can still get involved in the occasional murder mystery… Grieving widower Harold McCaffrey moves into the Mountain Splendor Retirement Home and finds himself living in the Back Wing with a group of strange residents—aging witches, vampires, werewolves and shape-shifters… He bonds with his fellow denizens, especially Bella, who has promise of becoming more than just a friend. Things are looking up for Harold—until he and Bella must use all their normal and extra-normal skills to solve two murders in this very unique retirement community. From an author twice nominated for the Lefty Award for Humorous Mystery whose work has been called “delightful” (Maggie Sefton, New York Times-bestselling author” and “very, very funny” (Kirkus Reviews), this is a uniquely quirky paranormal mystery.

Theoretical Distribution Of Load Over A Swept Back Wing written by Doris Cohen and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1942 with Aerodynamic load categories.

The load over an elliptical wing with 30 degrees sweepback has been calculated by a method, based on vortex theory, which takes account of the chordwise distribution of lifting area. The theory indicates a 14-percent loss in total lift due to the introduction of sweepback, with the greatest loss taking place at the center of the span. An increase in concentration of load at the tips is also indicated. The results are compared with the results previously obtained by somewhat simpler calculations based on the assumption of a single lifting vortex.

Influence Of Large Amounts Of Wing Sweep On Stability And Control Problems Of Aircraft written by Hartley Akin Soule and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1946 with Airplanes categories.

The use of large amounts of sweep has been suggested in this country and in Germany as a means of avoiding some of the drag increase and stability and control difficulties encountered in high-speed flight with conventional straight-wing airplanes. Experience with sweep in tailless airplanes and studies made since this suggested has been made have indicated that the use of a large amount of sweep will, in itself, introduce stability and control problems of sufficient magnitude and complexity to require considerable research, particularly for flight at high angles of attack. The paper discusses these problems and, although no proved solutions are given, in some cases promising lines for further investigation are presented.

The X-29 was an unusual aircraft with a truly unique silhouette. It combined many features that challenged the technologies of its day and represented special problems for the developers and the team of testers responsible for documenting its features and design goals. This book is a look at the "big picture" of what this team accomplished in a relatively fast-paced test program involving the truly unique X-29.

Aerodynamic Characteristics Of A Leading Edge Slat On A 35 Degree Swept Back Wing For Mach Numbers From 0 30 To 0 88 written by John A. Kelly and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1951 with Aerodynamic load categories.

The data presented in this report were obtained by North American Aviation, Inc., from an investigation conducted in the Southern California Cooperative Wind Tunnel. Tests were made over a range of Mach numbers from 0.300 to 0.883 to determine the aerodynamic characteristics of a semispan model of a 35 degree swept-back wing equipped with a leading-edge slat and to gain additional knowledge of the aerodynamic loads and automatic operation of the slat. Lift, drag, and pitching-moment characteristics of a model wing in the presence of a fuselage were measured as well as pressures acting on the slat in the retracted and the full-open positions. The pressure data were analyzed to ascertain the opening characteristics of the slat for two possible circular-arc slat tracks which could be used for automatic operation of the slat.
