In this issue we will continue four lines of ministry. The first line--The History of the Lord's Recovery--contains chapters 1 through 4 of The Exercise and Practice of the God-ordained Way, which are in volume 3 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1989. These chapters cover a thorough view of the God-ordained way (the basic principles), the exercise and practice of the gospel preaching in the God-ordained way, definite steps needed for practicing the New Testament priesthood of the gospel, and points for fulfilling the priesthood of the gospel.The second line--Words for New Believers--contains chapters 3 through 6 of Fellowshipping with the Lord for the Mingling of God with Man, which are in volume 3 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1961–1962. These chapters speak on fellowship and the mingling of God with man, learning to fellowship, the difference between the spirit and the soul, and death and resurrection and the salvation of the soul.The third line--Maturing in Life--contains chapters 51 through 54 of Perfecting Training, which are in volume 1 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1980. These chapters cover how to know the genuine leading by the Spirit, a daily living under the leading by the Spirit, the leading of the Spirit being for living, not for doing, and the genuine and proper living of the sons of God.The fourth line--The High Peak of the Divine Revelation--contains chapters 3 through 6 of The Issue of the Dispensing of the Processed Trinity and the Transmitting of the Transcending Christ, which are in volume 2 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1993. These chapters cover the issue of God the Spirit's dispensing speaking forth the application of God's accomplished purpose, the issue of the transmitting of the transcending Christ, the church, and the Body of Christ.

The practice of the God-ordained way in its four steps should be our experience. The first step is to fulfill the New Testament priesthood of the gospel. To preach the gospel is to get sinners saved to be members of the Body of Christ. The second step is to nourish and feed the new believers in the home meetings. The third step is to perfect the saints through the group meetings.... The fourth and last step of the God-ordained way is prophesying in the church meetings for the building up of the church, consummating in the organic building up of the Body of Christ. We should endeavor to build up the local church. Eventually, this building up will consummate in the building up of the Body of Christ.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1990, volume 3, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from August 15 through November 24, 1990. Brother Lee remained in Anaheim, California, from the first part of May until the end of the third week in August. During that time he visited Long Beach, California. At the end of August Brother Lee visited San Francisco, San Jose, and Berkeley, California. In early September he returned to Anaheim and remained there until the middle of October. During that period he briefly visited San Diego and San Bernardino, California. In the middle of October Brother Lee traveled to the Far East and remained there until the first part of November. During that period he visited Taipei, Taiwan, and then Kota Kinabalu, Sibu, Kuching, and Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. In the middle of November he returned to Anaheim and remained there until the end of the year. The contents of this volume are divided into ten sections, as follows: 1. Six messages given in Anaheim, California, on August 15 through September 26. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Prophecy of the Four "Sevens" in the Bible and are included in this volume under the same title. 2. Ten messages given in San Francisco, San Jose, and Berkeley, California, on August 24 through September 2. They were previously published in a book entitled The Economy and Dispensing of God and are included in this volume under the same title. Chapters 1 through 4 and 6 were spoken in Chinese. 3. Four messages given in San Francisco and Berkeley, California, on August 26 through September 3. They are included in this volume under the title Fellowship with the Church in San Francisco, California, and with the Young People, the College Students, and the Church in Berkeley, California. 4. A message given in Berkeley, California, on September 2. This message was previously published in a booklet entitled God, Education, and Character. It is included in this volume as chapter 2 of Fellowship with the Church in San Francisco, California, and with the Young People, the College Students, and the Church in Berkeley, California. Therefore, it is not reprinted in this section. 5. Two messages given in Berkeley, California, on September 2 and 3. They are included in this volume under the title Fellowship with the Elders concerning Carrying Out the Lord's New Way and Keeping the Oneness and One Accord in the Church. The two messages were combined into one chapter. 6. Four messages given in San Diego and San Bernardino, California, on September 15 through 23. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Divine Dispensing for the Divine Economy and are included in this volume under the same title. 7. A message given in San Bernardino, California, on September 22. This message was previously published in a book entitled The Basic Principles for the Practice of the God-ordained Way and is included in this volume under the same title. 8. Ten messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on October 14 through 22. These messages were previously published in Chinese and English in a book entitled The Vision of the Divine Dispensing and Guidelines for the Practice of the New Way and are included in this volume under the same title. 9. Seventeen messages given in Chinese in Kota Kinabalu, Sibu, Kuching, and Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, on October 24 through November 5. These messages were previously published in Chinese and English in a book entitled A Deeper Study of the Divine Dispensing and are included in this volume under the same title. 10. Seven messages given in Chinese in Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, and Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, on October 24 through November 6. In this issue we will continue four lines of ministry. The first line—The History of the Lord’s Recovery—contains chapters 3 through 5 of Guidelines for the Propagation of the Lord’s Recovery, which are in volume 5 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1984. These three chapters, which complete the chapters from this book, speak of loving to live the normal church life, being fervent for the gospel by preaching in the homes and by spreading through migration, and bearing the responsibility to shepherd and teach in the homes and small groups. The section then continues with chapter 1 of a new book, Fellowship concerning the Urgent Need of the Vital Groups, which is in volume 3 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1991–1992. This chapter contains fellowship concerning the practice of the group meetings in the God-ordained way. The second line—Words for New Believers—continues with chapters 11 through 14 of Basic Principles of the Experience of Life, which are in volume 3 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1963. The chapters in this section speak of dealing with the self, the conscience, and the world. The third line—Maturing in Life—contains the final four chapters of The Subjective Experience of the Indwelling Christ, which are in volume 1 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1983. These chapters speak of living out Christ in our human virtues, the subjective salvation of the Triune God, and how to enjoy the subjective salvation of the Triune God. The fourth line—The High Peak of the Divine Revelation—contains the final two chapters of The Issue of Christ Being Glorified by the Father with the Divine Glory, which are in volume 5 of The Collected Works of Witness [8] Lee, 1994–1997. These chapters speak of the three aspects of the incorporation of the consummated God with the regenerated believers and of the functions of the Father’s house, the true vine, and the new child. The final two chapters in this section then begin a new book, The History of God in His Union with Man, which is in volume 4 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1991–1992. These chapters focus on God’s history in eternity past and God’s history in time.
