How good companies build a culture of integrity In the present environment of corporate governance brought on by high-profile executive scandals, this book makes a strong case for encouraging business leaders to manage beyond compliance. Achieving the bare minimum of compliance isn't enough. By making corporate responsibility and integrity a strategic priority-rather than something companies are forced to comply with-companies can realize tangible financial returns and benefits. This book provides practical advice, effective tools, and time-tested best practices for approaching corporate integrity strategically and managing an integrity program on a day-to-day basis. There is a growing realization that compliance with the rules is only a minimum standard of performance, and an increasing demand from stakeholders at every level — shareholders, employees, customers along the entire supply chain, consumers, advocacy groups, and the local community at large — for more transparency and accountability from corporations. But most businesses have little experience and few tools to deal with the urgent demand to increase corporate responsibility. Corporate Integrity provides practical tools and proven processes to manage complex integrity dilemmas and support implementation: Explains how to create a culture of integrity in your organization and how to motivate the appropriate corporate behaviors. Coverage includes: How to assess and measure integrity; how to align corporate integrity commitments and actions; how to design and implement dependable and strategic corporate accountability systems and processes; how to develop corporate integrity standards and report on them, and much more. Includes a wealth of practical business tools and best practices that readers can apply to improve the level of corporate integrity in their own company. Features three detailed case studies and numerous other examples that illustrate corporate integrity dilemmas and solutions in action. Today’s organizations are embedded in global and local network relationships that demand more. They have to consider the importance to customers, investors and employees of being respected in wider society and behaving ethically, so it is increasingly important for companies to reflect systematically on how to balance profits with other criteria when making decisions and acting. In short, they need to learn how to become The Balanced Company. Requiring sustainability in production processes and ethical employment of the work force in suppliers' production facilities, at home and abroad, has resulted in new challenges. Strategists need to make balanced choices about long-term goals and the allocation of resources. They must analyse, understand and adjust strategies to market, political, value and technology-related changes. Communication specialists need to take the value systems and assumptions of stakeholders into consideration. Change specialists need to balance continuity and change. Meanwhile, managers make balanced decisions about control or trust; human resources design jobs to make them attractive as well as motivating, and marketers must consider what is important to consumers and stakeholders. Last but not least, leaders have to acknowledge that there are times when organizations have to be taken out of balance during change. The Balanced Company provides answers to corporately responsible and ethically driven balanced decision making. Read it to help your company and stakeholders identify what can be achieved and what to avoid, and about the processes by which values are taken into account and applied in practice.

Offers a broad view of leadership and shareholder value based on multiple business disciplines In Why the Bottom Line Isn't! authors Dave Ulrich and Norm Smallwood argue that sustainable shareholder value comes increasingly from assets not accounted for on an organization's balance sheet. These assets include a company's reputation, its ability to attract talent, and its ability to react quickly to new opportunities in the marketplace. Why the Bottom Line Isn't! harnesses research from a number of disciplines including human resources, finance, and leadership to establish a hierarchy of such intangibles. The authors extrapolate from these intangibles to establish leadership tools that will help create sustainable shareholder value. The book offers a broad, expansive perspective on leadership while eschewing convoluted theory for concrete practice. Dave Ulrich, Ph.D., ([email protected]) has been listed by BusinessWeek as the top "guru" in management education. He has co-authored 10 books and over 100 articles, serves on the Board of Directors of Herman Miller, and has consulted with over half of the Fortune 200 companies. Norm Smallwood ([email protected]) is co-founder of Results-Based Leadership (www.rbl.net), which provides education and consulting services based on this book as well as the ideas in Results-Based Leadership: How Leaders Build the Business and Improve the Bottom Line, which he co-authored with Ulrich. Equal Citizenship And Public Reason written by Christie Hartley and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-11-02 with Philosophy categories.

This book is a defense of political liberalism as a feminist liberalism. The first half of the book develops and defends a novel interpretation of political liberalism. It is argued that political liberals should accept a restrictive account of public reason and that political liberals' account of public justification is superior to the leading alternative, the convergence account of public justification. The view is defended from the charge that such a restrictive account of public reason will unduly threaten or undermine the integrity of some religiously oriented citizens and an account of when political liberals can recognize exemptions, including religious exemptions, from generally applicable laws is offered. In the second half of the book, it is argued that political liberalism's core commitments restrict all reasonable conceptions of justice to those that secure genuine, substantive equality for women and other marginalized groups. Here it is demonstrated how public reason arguments can be used to support law and policy needed to address historical sites of women's subordination in order to advance equality; prostitution, the gendered division of labor and marriage, in particular, are considered.

‘Stop talking about bringing your values to work and learn how to actually DO it!’ – Kim Scott, bestselling author of Radical Candor Intentional Integrity, by Silicon Valley expert Rob Chestnut, provides an excellent road map for any organization looking to create a clear set of values to live by. The year 2020 triggered consumers to re-evaluate their relationship with brands in general, leading to customers prioritizing those seen to be ‘doing good’ or ‘being helpful’ in the context of the pandemic. There is a strong sentiment that businesses have a big part to play in helping society recover and a purpose-driven organization will likely have the edge. In the midst of a year of crisis, there is an opportunity for companies to re-evaluate how their businesses operate. The power to act with integrity is the key to developing this culture. Drawing on his background as former General Counsel for Airbnb, Rob Chesnut explains the rationale and legal context for the ethics and practices, and presents scenarios to illuminate the nuances of thinking deeply and objectively about workplace culture. Intentional Integrity is the handbook to revolutionizing your workplace by providing the right environment for people to do good work. ‘Smart, practical advice for anyone looking to do good and do well’ – Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn and author of Blitzscaling

God Sex Drugs Other Things written by Howard Frankl and has been published by NewSouth Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-05-18 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

Howard Frankl's God, Sex, Drugs and Other Things begins with three essays on subjects found in the title: one essay on drugs, one on sex and one on God. The "Other Things" turn out to be Money and Murder, and there is an essay on each of these topics. The book comes to a close with a short epilogue on the reality that holds the whole work together, call it compassion, call it universal salvation, or just call it Love. Writer Ernesto Cardenal calls this "a bold book ... In it are things writers don’t dare say. Only God. And he has said them in the Bible. But since we read the Bible so often, those things don’t shock us. They shock us when someone says the same things in a new way. This is an orthodox book, but to some it will not seem so, because it presents the dogmas with a freshness and originality we’re not used to."
