Polynomial Optimization Moments And Applications written by Michal Kočvara and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-12-27 with Mathematics categories.
Polynomial optimization is a fascinating field of study that has revolutionized the way we approach nonlinear problems described by polynomial constraints. The applications of this field range from production planning processes to transportation, energy consumption, and resource control. This introductory book explores the latest research developments in polynomial optimization, presenting the results of cutting-edge interdisciplinary work conducted by the European network POEMA. For the past four years, experts from various fields, including algebraists, geometers, computer scientists, and industrial actors, have collaborated in this network to create new methods that go beyond traditional paradigms of mathematical optimization. By exploiting new advances in algebra and convex geometry, these innovative approaches have resulted in significant scientific and technological advancements. This book aims to make these exciting developments accessible to a wider audienceby gathering high-quality chapters on these hot topics. Aimed at both aspiring and established researchers, as well as industry professionals, this book will be an invaluable resource for anyone interested in polynomial optimization and its potential for real-world applications.

Discrete Variational Problems With Interfaces written by Roberto Alicandro and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-12-21 with Mathematics categories.
Many materials can be modeled either as discrete systems or as continua, depending on the scale. At intermediate scales it is necessary to understand the transition from discrete to continuous models and variational methods have proved successful in this task, especially for systems, both stochastic and deterministic, that depend on lattice energies. This is the first systematic and unified presentation of research in the area over the last 20 years. The authors begin with a very general and flexible compactness and representation result, complemented by a thorough exploration of problems for ferromagnetic energies with applications ranging from optimal design to quasicrystals and percolation. This leads to a treatment of frustrated systems, and infinite-dimensional systems with diffuse interfaces. Each topic is presented with examples, proofs and applications. Written by leading experts, it is suitable as a graduate course text as well as being an invaluable reference for researchers.

Theory Of Reproducing Kernels And Applications written by Saburou Saitoh and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-10-14 with Mathematics categories.
This book provides a large extension of the general theory of reproducing kernels published by N. Aronszajn in 1950, with many concrete applications. In Chapter 1, many concrete reproducing kernels are first introduced with detailed information. Chapter 2 presents a general and global theory of reproducing kernels with basic applications in a self-contained way. Many fundamental operations among reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces are dealt with. Chapter 2 is the heart of this book.Chapter 3 is devoted to the Tikhonov regularization using the theory of reproducing kernels with applications to numerical and practical solutions of bounded linear operator equations. In Chapter 4, the numerical real inversion formulas of the Laplace transform are presented by applying the Tikhonov regularization, where the reproducing kernels play a key role in the results.Chapter 5 deals with ordinary differential equations; Chapter 6 includes many concrete results for various fundamental partial differential equations. In Chapter 7, typical integral equations are presented with discretization methods. These chapters are applications of the general theories of Chapter 3 with the purpose of practical and numerical constructions of the solutions. In Chapter 8, hot topics on reproducing kernels are presented; namely, norm inequalities, convolution inequalities, inversion of an arbitrary matrix, representations of inverse mappings, identifications of nonlinear systems, sampling theory, statistical learning theory and membership problems. Relationships among eigen-functions, initial value problems for linear partial differential equations, and reproducing kernels are also presented. Further, new fundamental results on generalized reproducing kernels, generalized delta functions, generalized reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces, andas well, a general integral transform theory are introduced. In three Appendices, the deep theory of Akira Yamada discussing the equality problems in nonlinear norm inequalities, Yamada's unified and generalized inequalities for Opial's inequalities and the concrete and explicit integral representation of the implicit functions are presented.

Coherent Quantum Physics written by Arnold Neumaier and has been published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-10-21 with Science categories.
This book introduces mathematicians, physicists, and philosophers to a new, coherent approach to theory and interpretation of quantum physics, in which classical and quantum thinking live peacefully side by side and jointly fertilize the intuition. The formal, mathematical core of quantum physics is cleanly separated from the interpretation issues. The book demonstrates that the universe can be rationally and objectively understood from the smallest to the largest levels of modeling. The thermal interpretation featured in this book succeeds without any change in the theory. It involves one radical step, the reinterpretation of an assumption that was virtually never questioned before - the traditional eigenvalue link between theory and observation is replaced by a q-expectation link: Objective properties are given by q-expectations of products of quantum fields and what is computable from these. Averaging over macroscopic spacetime regions produces macroscopic quantities with negligible uncertainty, and leads to classical physics. - Reflects the actual practice of quantum physics. - Models the quantum-classical interface through coherent spaces. - Interprets both quantum mechanics and quantum field theory. - Eliminates probability and measurement from the foundations. - Proposes a novel solution of the measurement problem.

Geometric Properties For Incomplete Data written by Reinhard Klette and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-03-14 with Computers categories.
Computer vision and image analysis require interdisciplinary collaboration between mathematics and engineering. This book addresses the area of high-accuracy measurements of length, curvature, motion parameters and other geometrical quantities from acquired image data. It is a common problem that these measurements are incomplete or noisy, such that considerable efforts are necessary to regularise the data, to fill in missing information, and to judge the accuracy and reliability of these results. This monograph brings together contributions from researchers in computer vision, engineering and mathematics who are working in this area. The book can be read both by specialists and graduate students in computer science, electrical engineering or mathematics who take an interest in data evaluations by approximation or interpolation, in particular data obtained in an image analysis context.
