Book ThreeThis book is a companion and third book to the series of the life of Cleopatra Selene, by author, Sharon Desruisseaux. The series: "From the Sands of Egypt to Eternity" is an inside perspective of the legacy left behind of the legendary Cleopatra VII as told by her children. This book contains the sections excluded mostly from the first two novels of the series and is added as a guiding light to enhance the first two books. This contains sections written by her daughter, Cleopatra Selene and letters preserved during that time by her children. Those she left behind who want to shed light over all tarnished in her name have meticulously collected the information therein. Included in this book are illustrations by the author as well as graphics of what the characters truly looked like from statues of their images depicted when alive. Enjoy the first two novels of the series as well in book one: "Legacy of the Moon" and book two: "Under the Shadow of the Moon" to complete this epic tale of an amazing time in history, thousands of years ago. In this book, the author reveals the hidden letters cherished to add the requisite depth to a life darkened by misconception and rancid conjecture of those who despised a woman in power. This is the truth behind the darkness shrouded over the Ptolemy family by their conquerors, the Romans. The daughter of Cleopatra VII, Cleopatra Selene, kept close to her heart the truth and waited for the auspicious time to reveal the fact behind it all that has been obscured for too long. She is the published author of this series, "Le Point de non Retour", "Evil Sells", "A Tenacious Grasp on Reality", and others.

Never before translated into English, this official history of the reign of King T’aejo—founder of Korea’s long, illustrious Chosŏn dynasty (1392–1910 CE)—is a unique resource for reconstructing life in late-fourteenth-century Korea. Its narrative of a ruler’s rise to power includes a wealth of detail not just about politics and war but also about religion, astronomy, and the arts. The military general Yi Sŏnggye, posthumously named T’aejo, assumed the throne in 1392. During his seven-year reign, T’aejo instituted reforms and established traditions that would carry down through the centuries. These included service to Korea’s overlord, China, and other practices reflecting China’s influence over the peninsula: creation of a bureaucracy based on civil service examinations, a shift from Buddhism to Confucianism, and official records of the deeds of kings, which in the Confucian tradition were an important means of educating succeeding generations. A remarkable compilation process for the sillok, or “veritable records,” was instituted to ensure the authority of the annals. Historiographers were present for every royal audience and wrote down each word that was uttered. They were strictly forbidden to divulge the contents of their daily drafts, however—even the king himself could not view the records with impunity. Choi Byonghyon’s translation of the first of Korea’s dynastic histories, The Annals of King T’aejo, includes an introduction and annotations.

Envisioning The Past Through Memories written by Davide Nadali and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-08-11 with History categories.

Memory is a constructed system of references, in equilibrium, of feeling and rationality. Comparing ancient and contemporary mechanisms for the preservation of memories and the building of a common cultural, political and social memory, this volume aims to reveal the nature of memory, and explores the attitudes of ancient societies towards the creation of a memory to be handed down in words, pictures, and mental constructs. Since the multiple natures of memory involve every human activity, physical and intellectual, this volume promotes analyses and considerations about memory by focusing on various different cultural activities and productions of ancient Near Eastern societies, from artistic and visual documents to epigraphic evidence, and by considering archaeological data. The chapters of this volume analyse the value and function of memory within the ancient Near Eastern and Egyptian societies, combining archaeological, textual and iconographical evidence following a progression from the analysis of the creation and preservation of both single and multiple memories, to the material culture (things and objects) that shed light on the impact of memory on individuals and community.
