THANK EVOLUTION FOR GOD Nature and God’s Creations and Designs Biological evolution of living organisms, including man, as described by Darwin’s Theory of natural selection is settled science for most scientists, philosophers and evolutionary biologist allowing them to declare that in the science classroom to Thank Evolution for God. But man’s evolution taught in public schools remains a contentious issue for many Christians today who declare Thank God for Evolution. The question, who to thank for the evolution of man, his morals and gods, God or Nature? is addressed in light of Nature’s theories describing advances in evolutionary biology, neuroscience and neurophilosophy which are compared to God’s Words as interpreted by Christians; Fundamentalist, Liberal and Progressive. The case for Nature is based on the works of leading evolutionary biologists, neuroscientists, physicists and philosophers. God’s case is extracted from the books of five leading Christian authors who have addressed Darwin’s Theory in light of the demands of their religion. The answer to the question of who to thank has evolved from ten years of lectures given by the author and the responses of hundreds of students of many religious persuasions to lectures on the ‘Conflicts of Religion with Science and Democracy’ at the University of California San Diego.

God And The Founders written by Vincent Phillip Muñoz and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-07-13 with Political Science categories.

Did the Founding Fathers intend to build a 'wall of separation' between church and state? Are public Ten Commandments displays or the phrase 'under God' in the Pledge of Allegiance consistent with the Founders' understandings of religious freedom? In God and the Founders, Dr Vincent Phillip Muñoz answers these questions by providing comprehensive interpretations of James Madison, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson. By analyzing Madison's, Washington's, and Jefferson's public documents, private writings, and political actions, Muñoz explains the Founders' competing church-state political philosophies. Muñoz explores how Madison, Washington, and Jefferson agreed and disagreed by showing how their different principles of religious freedom would decide the Supreme Court's most important First Amendment religion cases. God and the Founders answers the question, 'What would the Founders do?' for the most pressing church-state issues of our time, including prayer in public schools, government support of religion, and legal burdens on individuals' religious consciences.

The Existence And Attributes Of God Volume 7 Of 50 Greatest Christian Classics 2 Volumes In 1 written by Stephen Charnock and has been published by Sovereign Grace Publishers, this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008-09 with categories.

The Existence and Attributes of God comprises the first two volumes of the works of Stephen Charnock (1628-1680), an English puritan divine who was highly skilled in philosophy, patristics, Reformed theology, and Biblical languages. These volumes are his abiding monument. They are worthy of being compared with the finest in theology. "When the existence and attributes of God are called into question, to whom else can we better go than to Stephen Charnock'' . . . ''those [things revealed belong to us and to our children forever]. The material that Charnock discusses is firmly founded in the Word of God'' . . . ''Both the Old Testament and the New emphasize these two things: First, we should study the whole revelation, not just some easy or favorite parts of it; secondly, the study of God's attributes is not dry as dust theology, but is practical; that is, it leads to righteousness" (Dr. Gordon H. Clark, from a preface to this great work in a Sovereign Grace edition, 1958). One of the greatest tragedies in these spiritually starved times is the sad fact that most Christians know so very little about their God. It is often said that this is simply because these volumes are exhaustive on the subject. Yet it is clearly filled with sublime expositions of the truth regarding God's existence and attributes. "Charnock displays God's attributes not as impersonal abstractions for the mind to juggle with, but as qualities observable in the concrete actions of the living God of which the Bible speaks. The technical terms and sometimes, arguments of scholastic theology are employed, but always with a Biblical orientation. Charnock has no desire to speculate, but only to declare the works and ways, the nature and character, of the God of the Bible. The substance of his doctrine is characteristically Puritan and representatively Reformed." (Dr. James I. Packer, in The Encyclopedia of Christianity, Volume II, p. 410) The possessor of these rare volumes will be blessed by getting acquainted with the incomparable God, and thereby will reach a higher plane of spiritual enjoyment never attained before. To know Him better is to love Him more.

The Verdict Of Battle written by James Q. Whitman and has been published by Harvard University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-10-22 with History categories.

Slaughter in battle was once seen as a legitimate way to settle disputes. When pitched battles ceased to exist, the law of victory gave way to the rule of unbridled force. Whitman explains why ritualized violence was more effective in ending carnage, and why humanitarian laws that view war as evil have led to longer, more barbaric conflicts.
