Consciousness and nostalgia in the Swipe Right age This collection attempts to find poetry, or what Gwendolyn MacEwen once called Òa single symmetry,Ó amid the chaos of 21st-century life. A powerful catalogue of loss and human connection, it considers not only how our identities are formed by places and experiences rooted in childhood, but also by digital newsfeeds, YouTube, and the Ògospel of Spotify.Ó These poems intimately confront topics as diverse as quantum physics, video arcades, mental illness, climate change, road rage, alcoholism, endangered species, and even a gigantic NoahÕs Ark replica. Chris Banks is a poet known for packing his lines with thought and feeling. Building on the generous work of John Koethe, Larry Levis, and Ada Limn, BanksÕs wildly expansive, often lyric, deeply accessible poems are brilliant meditations on what it means to be human in a brave new world of cloud computing and smart phones.

Georgette S Apple Bivortex Theory Of Everything A Grand Unified Theory Of The Universe written by George William Kelly and has been published by Xlibris Corporation this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2001-08-13 with Juvenile Fiction categories.
George William Kelly wrote this collection of eight childrens stories over the lifetime of his daughter, Georgette. He named the heroines after her. By the time he published the collection, Georgette had reached the age of "sweet sixteen." Consequently, some of the stories aim at picture book readers and some at teenage readers. They reflect Georgettes growing older and older. The stories range from how Santa Christina (Mrs. Santa Claus) saved Christmas by helping Santa Claus deliver the Christmas toys, to how Georgette discovered there are 32 tooth pixies instead of one tooth fairy, to how Georgettes family developed the idea of a "grand unified theory of the universe" from apples in their kitchen fruit bowl. As a gift for Georgettes sixteenth birthday, Kelly combined his eight favorite stories into a print-on-demand paperback book (and an e-book) published by the Xlibris Corp. Like many childrens books, this one offers food for thought to adults as well as to children. It has no illustrations, but the author believes children will draw their own pictures. He hopes that some of the stories may be republished later as individual picture books. Georgettes Apple Bivortex Theory of Everything. "This story presents a model that shows how everything in the universe evolves," Kelly says. "Modern scientists have searched and searched for this model but have failed to see it. Great scientists like Rene Descartes, Isaac Newton, Michael Faraday, James Clark Maxwell, Max Planck, Albert Einstein, and Niels Bohr circled close around this model, but even those giants failed to see it." Georgettes bivortex theory evolved over sixteen years. Georgette, her Mommy, and her Daddy were seeking one, single answer to a young girls unending questions about everything. Their amateur, commonsense approach led them further and further into the realms of astronomy, cosmology, mathematics, physics, and the history of science. Although they could not speak the various scientific "dialects," they could comprehend general scientific speculation about the universe. They could also ponder the detailed pictures of the universe provided by space-age astronomy. Just as a small child saw the real truth in the old fairy tale about the emperors new clothes, so Georgettes scientifically unsophisticated family saw in the apple-like shapes of certain space photographs a new model for a theory of everything: a grand unified theory of the universe. As far as the family knows, this model never occurred to the scientists who have striven to harmonize red shifts, the Big Bang, the expanding universe, black holes, wormholes, gravity, electromagetism, curved space, strings, branes, quantum, matter, antimatter, dark matter, wimps, strong nuclear force, weak nuclear force, Bose-Einstein condensates, great walls, chaos theory, etc. Georgettes bivortex model takes the shape of an apple in the center of a large cloud of particles. It begins when two or more particles eddy around each other and form a tube. This rotating tube of particles sucks more and more cloud particles down the vortex at each end of the tube. The opposing helical streams of particles collide at the tubes center. The particles split, ricochet, and radiate outward to form an equatorial bulge and equatorial disk. Nearly all these particles are drawn back eventually toward the rotating tube. They rise in arched pathways northward and southward from the equatorial bulge and disk. Some return quickly to the walls of the tube. Others return leisurely via either the north pole vortex or the south pole vortex. The particles recycle along the lines of the bivortex field, just as iron filings follow the lines of a magnets electromagnetic field. At the extreme circumference of the disk, some particles leave the system altogether and radiate into space. Meanwhile, some particles pass the tubes center-point and follow the tubes axis in

Quanta Logic And Spacetime 2nd Edition written by Stephen A Selesnick and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003-12-04 with Mathematics categories.
In this expanded edition of Quanta, Logic and Spacetime, the logical base is greatly broadened and quantum-computational aspects of the approach are brought to the fore. The first two parts of this edition may indeed be regarded as providing a self-contained and logic-based foundation for — and an introduction to — the enterprise known as quantum computing. The rest of the work takes on the task (as in the first edition) of computing from first principles certain dynamical expressions which turn out to compare favorably with the Lagrangian densities of the (massless) Standard Model, including gravity. The logic of this process is now subject to greater formal rigor than was possible in the first edition, and the central thesis — that quantum physics at a fundamental level may itself be realized as a species of quantum computation — is strongly underscored.

We live in this universe. Hence, it is essential to understand the origin, evolution and ultimate fate of the universe. This can be, effectively, done by constructing mathematical models of the universe, using Einstein's theory of gravitation and other modified theories of gravitation. The models, thus, obtained can be compared with the present day observations, to decide about the shape, physics, and origin of the universe. With this motivation we have taken up the investigations in this book entitled "STUDIES ON GRAVITATIONAL FIELD EQUATIONS AND IMPORTANT RESULTS OF RELATIVISTIC COSMOLOGY". This book comprises of six chapters and deals with some spatially homogeneous isotropic and anisotropic cosmological models of the universe in some modified theories of gravitation.

What is a scientific theory? How is it different from a law or a principle? And what practical use is it? Science students, especially those new to studying the sciences, ask these questions everyday about these essential parts of a science education. To support these students, the Encyclopedia of Scientific Principles, Laws, and Principles is designed to be an easy-to-understand, accessible, and accurate description of the most famous scientific concepts, principles, laws, and theories that are known in the areas of astronomy, biology, chemistry, geology, mathematics, medicine, meteorology, and physics. The encyclopedia contributes to the scientific literacy of students and the general public by providing them with a comprehensive, but not overwhelming source of those scientific concepts, principles, laws and theories that impact every facet of their daily lives. The Encyclopedia of Scientific Principles, Laws, and Theories includes several hundred entries. For ease of use, entries are arranged alphabetically by the names of the men or women who are best-known for their discovery or development or after whom the particular scientific law or theory is named. Entries include a short biography of the main discoverers, as well as any information that was of particular relevance in the evolution of the scientific topic. The encyclopedia includes sidebars and examples of the usefulness of the theories, principles, and laws in everyday life, demonstrating that understanding these concepts have practical use. Each entry also includes resources for further research, and the encyclopedia includes a general bibliography of particularly useful primary and secondary source materials.

This volume of important papers by one the world's leading astrophysicists provides a sweeping survey of the incisive and exciting applications of nuclear and particle physics to a wide range of problems in astrophysics and cosmology. The prime focus of the book is on Big Bang cosmology and the role of primordial nucleosynthesis in establishing the modern consensus on the Big Bang. This leads into the connection of cosmology to particle physics and the constraints put on various elementary particles by astrophysical arguments. Big Bang Nucleosynthesis has also led to the argument for nonbaryonic dark matter and is thus related to the major problem in physical cosmology today, namely, structure formation. The nuclear-particle interface with astrophysics also extends to the other topics of major interest such as the age of the universe, cosmic rays, supernovae, and solar neutrinos, each of which will be discussed in some detail. Each section contains historical papers, current papers, and frequently a popular article on the subject which provides an overview of the topic. This volume is testimony to the success of the integration of nuclear and particle physics with astrophysics and cosmology, and to the ingenuity of the work in this area which has earned the author numerous prestigious awards. The book, which is accessible to beginning graduate students, should be of particular interest to researchers and students in astronomy, astrophysics, cosmology and gravitation, and also in high energy and nuclear physics.
