This is the final book in the Common Threads Triology. Common Threads begins with two family stories, one as slaves from Africa and one fleeing the potato famine in Scotland and how the underground railroad brings them together to form one multi-racial clan. In Common Threads II we follow Liz & Joe Allen to Philadelphia, Mississippi for their dream jobs. Unbeknownst to them, the Klan was active in the area and raising their family brought many challenges. The final book, More Common Threads, brings you to 1970 and follows the Allen family’s saga as the boys mature and deal with sibling rivalry, homosexuality, and racism in Mississippi during this turbulent decade. The success of the family potato farm and golf course in Chatham, Ontario grew from strong family values and the Common Threads of a simple Scottish Tartan and an African Kente robe.

This Book of Updates is meant to be read only after first reading the Ark trilogy. The updates include new chapters, some corrections, additions to chapters in the trilogy, new finds that support our writings, book cover changes, and more on 2012. What one thing do the authors of the non-fiction trilogy, The Ark of Millions of Years, have in common with Joseph Smith, Columbus, Nostradamus, Freemasonry, the Knights of Columbus, the Rosicrucians, the Knight Templars, the mystery schools of Egypt and Babylon, King Solomon, King David, Moses, Abraham, Isaiah, and other Old Testament prophets back to Noah? The facts are clear; we all derived our esoteric knowledge from the same source. Read this book and discover the source. The knowledge was merely passed down through the ages till the present time in fulfillment of an ancient Jewish prophecy. The prophecy states that the knowledge of the one mystery would be restored right before the imminent return of the Savior. These books fulfill that prophecy. Kabbalists are still looking for the prophecy to be fulfilled. To those people we say...WAKE UP, it has been fulfilled. From whence did the knowledge of the Maya End Time date of December 21, 2012 come? Why did the ancient Maya end their long count calendar on that date? Is it the end of the world or a new beginning as some think? Could the ancient Maya be right? The answers are found within the covers of this book. Prepare for several surprises that may change your thinking about the upcoming date.

German Poetic Realists drew on the Romantic motif of the Double in a manner consistent with the central dictum of Poetic Realism as articulated by its chief theorists, Julian Schmidt and Otto Ludwig. Schmidt and Ludwig argued that contemporary authors should, above all, strive for psychological and aesthetic totality in their narrative representations, turning away from the Romantic fantastic but also avoiding the fragmentary approach to the portrayal of everyday life that Ludwig found in early Naturalism. The 'poetic' presentation of reality adheres to quotidian life but strives to show it in all its many dimensions. While Romantic Doppelgänger are often preternatural figures, the Poetic Realists configure egos and their narrative Others ('alter egos,' who are also sometimes physical Doubles) to portray characters in their psychological comprehensiveness. After offering an overview of the Romantic Double motif and its connections to the theory of Poetic Realism, John Pizer analyzes the work of Annette von Droste-Hülshoff, Otto Ludwig, Conrad Ferdinand Meyer, Gottfried Keller, Theodor Storm, and Wilhelm Raabe.

The study of ideology and narratology in film reveals intricate layers of meaning and cultural significance embedded within cinematic narratives. This exploration delves into how ideologies are conveyed, reinforced, or challenged across multiple installments of a film franchise. By analyzing the narrative structures, character developments, and thematic continuities, scholars can uncover the underlying messages and societal implications that shape audience perceptions. Analyzing Ideology and Narratology in Film Series, Sequels, and Trilogies explores the complex narrative and ideological dimensions within multi-installment cinematic works. It investigates how sequential storytelling in film not only entertains but also reflects and shapes cultural, social, and political ideologies. By examining narrative structures in film series and franchises, this book reveals the subtle ways in which ideologies are constructed, perpetuated, or subverted. Covering topics such as narrative complexity, psychoanalytical analysis, and ideology, this book is a valuable resource for academicians, researchers, post-graduate students, educators, sociologists, and more.

Baby Boomers And Popular Culture written by Brian Cogan and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-11-25 with Social Science categories.

The Boomers are the generation that changed everything, from economics to politics to popular culture. This book examines the myriad ways and long-reaching consequences of the now fully "grown up" Baby Boomer generation on America. Once upon a time, the members of the Baby Boomer generation were young, idealistic, and hungry to change the world. And they did create sweeping, irreversible changes throughout American society—but probably not in the ways their younger selves imagined they would. Now that the Boomers are in their late-adult or retirement years, their tremendous legacy can clearly be perceived. In retrospect, the paths the members of this generation took to come to power—and how they came to terms with that power—are also apparent. This single-volume work supplies a broad yet detailed critical guide to the Boomer Generation, containing essays on key people, moments, and phenomena not only during the Boomers' 1960s heyday but also their extensive influences on American culture decades afterward. The contributors address key topics such as the rise of feminism; Civil Rights; the Vietnam War and the anti-war movement; the Beatles, the Grateful Dead, and rock 'n roll; gay rights; idealism, narcissism, and materialism; the influence of television on America, and vice versa; and the transition of Boomers from being "Yippies" to "Yuppies." This work is an ideal text for students in undergraduate or graduate courses in television studies, media studies, cultural studies, and American studies; and is highly appropriate as a supplemental text in literature, history, and philosophy surveys.
