I thought I was doing everything right? Attending church on Sundays, volunteering to feed the hungry every Tuesday and working in the children's ministry twice a month. I even volunteered for the hospital ministry once a month. So why did I still feel a void in my life? I didn't understand. What was missing?God has always played a major role in my life, I've always believed in creationism. There has never been any doubt in my mind that there was a supreme being that created the world. Even as a young child, I remember looking at the sunrise presenting itself every morning in its timely manner with all of its majesties. I knew then that perfection could not be accidental. Although I've always known that there was a God, I can honestly say that I didn't know him. But then again, I never really took the time to get to know him on a personal level. I was one of those Christians that were neither hot nor cold. I was in the middle, I was lukewarm. Isaiah 29:13 said it best, "These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned" Isaiah 29:13. I was guilty as charged

Does believing in Christ mean refusing to ask hard questions in the midst of doubt? Doubt is familiar territory for Lee Strobel, the former atheist and award-winning author of books for skeptics and Christians alike. But he believes that faith and reason go hand in hand, and that Christianity is, in rational terms, a defensible religion. In this six-session video Bible study (DVD/digital video sold separately), Strobel explores the most common emotional obstacles to faith in Christ, including: The natural inclination to wrestle with faith and doubt. The troubling presence of evil and suffering in the world. The exclusivity of the Christian gospel. Behind each of these considerations is the question: Can I doubt and still be a Christian? Through compelling personal stories and expert testimony--combined with discussion and personal reflection cues facilitated by contributor Garry Poole--Christians and spiritual seekers will learn how to overcome these obstacles, deepen their spiritual convictions, and find new confidence that Christianity is a reasonable faith. Sessions include: The Challenge of Faith Dealing with Doubt Evil and Suffering, Part 1 Evil and Suffering, Part 2 Why Is Jesus the Only Way to God? The Power of Faith Designed for use with The Case for Faith Revised Video Study 9780310698814 (sold separately).

The Problem of God explores answers to the most difficult questions raised against Christianity. A skeptic who became a Christian and then a pastor, author Mark Clark grew up in an atheistic home. After his father's death, he began a skeptical search for truth through the fields of science, philosophy, and history, eventually finding answers in the last place he expected: Christianity. In a winsome, persuasive, and humble voice, The Problem of God responds to the top ten interrogations people bring against God, and Christianity, including: Does God even exist in the first place? What do we do with Christianity's violent history? Is Jesus just another myth? Can the Bible be trusted? Why should we believe in Hell anymore today? Each chapter answers the specific challenge using a mix of theology, philosophy, and science. Filled with compelling stories and anecdotes, The Problem of God presents an organized and easy-to-understand range of apologetics, focused on both convincing the skeptic and informing the Christian. The book concluding with Christianity's most audacious assertion: how should we respond to Jesus' claim that he is God and the only way to salvation.

Saving Truth written by Abdu Murray and has been published by Zondervan this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-05-08 with Religion categories.

Increasingly, Western culture embraces confusion as a virtue and decries certainty as a sin. Those who are confused about sexuality and identity are viewed as heroes. Those who are confused about morality are progressive pioneers. Those who are confused about spirituality are praised as tolerant. Conversely, those who express certainty about any of these issues are seen as bigoted, oppressive, arrogant, or intolerant. This cultural phenomenon led the compilers of the Oxford English Dictionary to name "post-truth" their word of the year in 2016. How can Christians offer truth and clarity to a world that shuns both? By accurately describing the Culture of Confusion and how it has affected our society, author Abdu Murray seeks to awaken Westerners to the plight we find ourselves in. He also challenges Christians to consider how they have played a part in fostering the Culture of Confusion through bad arguments, unwise labeling, and emotional attacks. Ultimately, Saving Truth provides arguments from a Christian perspective for the foundations of truth and how those foundations apply to sexuality, identity, morality, and spirituality. For those enmeshed in the culture of confusion, the book offers a way to untangle oneself and find hope in the clarity that Christ offers.
