The primary contributors to asset management literature stem largely from governmental organizations and industry practitioners. Their contribution takes the form of guidelines and reports on best practices, resulting in a variety of asset management frameworks, based on experience or specific personal understanding. Some of these frameworks have been officially formulated into standards such as the PAS 55 in the UK, the International Infrastructure Management Manual (IIMM) in Australia and New Zealand, and more recently the ISO 55000 suite. The purpose of this paper is to present a critical overview of the asset management discipline and the established asset management systems, thus outlining for the first time the contemporary landscape in the field. It is shown that the recent publication of the ISO 55000 suite has fundamentally altered the asset management systems landscape. Specifically, this has profoundly affected the PAS 55 which will not be further reviewed after the publication of ISO 55000, and the IIMM which has already issued a 2015 version and a guideline for adjustment to the new ISO 55000 requirements. Further, it can be estimated that with the introduction of ISO 55000 a new era of professional advancement in the field has emerged, similar to the quality movement in the 1990's.

An all-weather, tactical approach to asset management utilizing Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) In Asset Rotation, portfolio management pioneer Matthew P. Erickson demonstrates a time-tested approach to asset management that has worked throughout the history of capital markets, in good times and bad. Providing investors with strong participation in rising markets, but more importantly with a discipline to reduce participation in prolonged declines. Over time this revolutionary approach has yielded superior returns, with significantly reduced levels of risk; providing the engine for true, long-term sustainable growth. The investment world as we know it has changed, and the paradigm has shifted. What has worked in the past may no longer work in the future. No longer may bonds be regarded as a safe haven asset class, as for the first time in generations, investors in fixed income face losses as interest rates rise from historical all-time lows. For those adhering to a conventional Modern Portfolio Theory based investment approach to asset management, what was once regarded as safe and stable, may very well soon become our greatest impediment. Asset Rotation provides investors with a practical solution for today's real world problems. This tactical approach to asset management provides us with concrete proof that there is indeed a better way. We are standing on the precipice of an Investment Renaissance. What was previously impossible, is now possible. Find out how. Presents an easy-to-understand price momentum-based approach to investing Illustrates the benefits of asset rotation Offers a systematic approach for securing a sound financial future Provides further insights as to how to customize your own asset rotation portfolio Matthew Erickson gives investors a hands-on resource for how to navigate an increasingly difficult investment landscape, by providing them with keen insights into the most rapidly growing segment of the investment markets.

Reliability Analysis And Asset Management Of Engineering Systems written by Gilberto Francisco Martha de Souza and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-09-24 with Business & Economics categories.

Reliability Analysis and Asset Management of Engineering Systems explains methods that can be used to evaluate reliability and availability of complex systems, including simulation-based methods. The increasing digitization of mechanical processes driven by Industry 4.0 increases the interaction between machines and monitoring and control systems, leading to increases in system complexity. For those systems the reliability and availability analyses are increasingly challenging, as the interaction between machines has become more complex, and the analysis of the flexibility of the production systems to respond to machinery failure may require advanced simulation techniques. This book fills a gap on how to deal with such complex systems by linking the concepts of systems reliability and asset management, and then making these solutions more accessible to industry by explaining the availability analysis of complex systems based on simulation methods that emphasise Petri nets. Explains how to use a monitoring database to perform important tasks including an update of complex systems reliability Shows how to diagnose probable machinery-based causes of system performance degradation by using a monitoring database and reliability estimates in an integrated way Describes practical techniques for the application of AI and machine learning methods to fault detection and diagnosis problems

Aimed at utilities in developing countries, SAMS, Simplified Asset Management Systems detailed an effective framework for anyone seeking to develop a low-cost asset management system for their physical assets. Based on worked examples it focused on the procedures necessary for the capital maintenance of infrastructure assets. This second publication seeks to extend that work into new areas and goes on to show how the basic principles can be applied to functions other than infrastructure. In contrast to other more formal publications on asset management, it concentrates on the practical aspects using worked examples to guide you through the process of producing a successful asset management system.

Asset management can be defined as the selection and maintenance over time of listed and unlisted financial instruments, with the aim of obtaining the best possible return for a certain level of risk.Nowadays, the asset management industry is under pressure for various reasons, including reductions in margins, constant regulatory, macro-economic and political changes, and new business models such as robo-advice.This book aims to provide an overview of asset management by focusing on some of the main issues in the sector. It gathers contributions on the system, strategies, opportunities and challenges.Chapter One highlights the importance of adopting an enterprise approach to the implementation of the asset management system, especially for large organizations. Chapter Two focuses on active and passive portfolio investment strategies. Active strategies aim to beat the market, while passive strategies support the efficient market theory by implying that a rational investor should buy the market as it is. Empirical evidence, in fact, supports both strategies. Chapter Three discusses a quantitative model applied to equity indexes corrected in order to consider currency risk. Chapter Four compares the portfolio characteristics and performance measures of social impact mutual funds, which implement different sustainable and responsible investment strategies. Chapter Five deals with impact investing, which is a niche within the Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) parameters. Chapter Six examines the asset allocation strategies of Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWFs), which are state-owned investment funds or entities that have emerged as important investors in global equity. Finally, Chapter Seven provides background information on art investment and the combination of art and finance, with the focus on the demand for investment in art, art advisory models and art funds.
