Sister Peters In Amsterdam Sister Adelaide Peters was proud and excited to represent her hospital in a new exchange scheme. It meant she’d be spending a year in Holland. Adelaide was determined to do her best, and she more than succeeded. She adored Holland, liked her colleagues and even mastered some of the language. She also unexpectedly – and disastrously – fell in love with her new boss. But Professor Coenraad van Essen was clearly out of her league. A Match For Sister Maggie Sister Maggy MacFergus was tall, and she had discovered that most men found this off-putting...but not Dr Paul Doelsma. So when the doctor offered Maggy a nursing job in Holland, she took it. There was something special about him, and it wasn’t just his height! Yet she was sensible enough to realise that he would never return her feelings – after all, Paul had said he’d already chosen himself a wonderful wife. But who was the lucky girl? Damsel In Green Georgina Rodman had been given a special nursing assignment – she was to look after the Van den Berg Eyffert children, who were recovering from an accident. Having worked in a casualty ward, Georgina felt she could cope with just about anything life threw at her. But that was before she met the children’s guardian, Julius. Afterwards she realised that even common sense and a practical nature couldn’t stop her from falling in love...with a man who didn’t even know she existed!

It delivers the most current recommendations outlined by the American Heart Association and the Heart Failure Society of America guidelines for the management and treatment of heart failure. This book includes a comprehensive overview of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. Special chapters are dedicated to physical exam, interpretation and application of diagnostic testing, and the management of chronic illness in the setting of acute and chronic heart failure. Additionally, the book provides clinicians with guidance on common medications to avoid, patient education, successful transitions of care, and conversations regarding goals of care. Each chapter includes an overview and learning objectives. The “Practice Pearls” and case studies found throughout the text highlight key takeaway points.

Guide For Advanced Nursing Care Of The Adult With Congenital Heart Disease written by Serena Francesca Flocco and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-12-01 with Medical categories.

The aim of this book is to provide one central resource for nurses within the adult spectrum of life-long congenital heart disease care who are seeking expert guidance for their practice, regardless of clinical setting. Over the past 50 years, advances in surgical techniques and medical therapies have drastically improved the number of congenital heart disease patients surviving into adulthood, with the result being that there are now more adults then children living with congenital heart disease. In the past three decades, recognition of this new cardiology subspecialty has given way to formalized programs, standards of care, and multidisciplinary expertise. Indeed Nursing care of adult patients with congenital heart disease (ACHD) is a relatively new medical subspecialty with limited knowledge and guidance available and also an important component of the multidisciplinary care team. Nursing care of the ACHD encompasses a holistic approach to the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual wellbeing of these unique individuals across their lifespan. Understanding the intricacies for the various heterogeneous defect types, the transition from pediatric to adult care, the unique educational and self-care needs, life-events such as pregnancy/reproduction, advanced heart failure, and end-of-life care helps prepare the nurse caring for the ACHD patient. Nurses as a first point of care for the ACHD patients play a pivotal role in the education and empowerment of the ACHD patient population and provide an invaluable role in the multidisciplinary team and with this guide nurses can feel confident in the quality of the care they provide. This book aims to introduce nursing focused care to wider audiences, nurses, medical technicians, and physicians who are involved in the management and treatment of ACHD patients. Improving care and the quality of life for adult congenital heart disease patients with a multidisciplinary team-based approach, including nursing care, should be a central goal for all ACHD programs.
