Winner of The Gospel Coalition 2019 Book Award for Popular Theology In The Cross Before Me, award-winning author Rankin Wilbourne and co-author Brian Gregor offer a provocative perspective on why the cross is God’s wisdom about the way to a good and beautiful life. Drawing on biblical truths, historical writings, and modern examples they ask, “What does the cross have to tell us about the art of living a fully human life? What if the things we’re most afraid of are the pathway to freedom? What if the way of humility and suffering gives us peace in a way our successes never could?” The Cross Before Me is for anyone who wonders what the shape of Jesus’ life has to teach us about finding the life Jesus promises. This unique book helps readers reimagine the good life as they learn to delight in releasing power and embracing the cross as the only path to human flourishing.

Dr. Wilson has covered many examples of Christs love to mankind as recorded in the Holy Bible. She has covered every aspect necessary to change our walk with Jesus Christ from the crucifixion, resurrection, and to sending the Holy Spirit (our Comforter) to be our daily companion. She shares many personal life experiences where she depended on Christs love during tragic and difficult situations. When I started reading On the Way to the Cross, I didnt want to put it down. This book will surely enlighten and enrich your walk with Christ. Glenda Johnson, CPM Dr. Wilsons book inspired me to think about what the cross meant to me. The first word that came to mind is hope! Hope for mankind! She portrays this hope through her own experiences, through other authors thoughts, and the precious infallible Word of God. This nuggets of gold book will build your faith and stir you to reflect upon the cross and Gods love for you. I found this book to be down to earth, solid, life-changing, faith-building, and easy to read. The message of the cross is powerful it will stir your spirit. Winner of the 2017 Christian Book Award for New Author Named one of the top books of 2016 by John Piper's Desiring God ministry To experience why the gospel is good news and answer life’s most foundational questions about identity, destiny, and purpose, we must understand what it means to be united to Christ. If you are a Christian, the Bible says that Christ has united his life to yours, that you are now in Christ and Christ is in you. This almost unfathomable truth is the central theme of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Yet few Christians today experience or enjoy this reality. Union with Christ reveals the transformational power of this ancient doctrine while addressing the basic questions of the human heart: Who Am I? Why Am I Here? Where Am I Headed? How Will I Get There? Nothing is more practical for living the Christian life than union with Christ. The recovery of this reality provides the anchor and engine for your life with God—for your destiny is not only to see Christ, but to actually become like him.

The History Of Redemption written by Richard Samuel Collins and has been published by Independently Published this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-01-23 with Religion categories.

If I were to ask you about the history of redemption, you would most likely begin by thinking back to the cross and what was accomplished there by Christ From there, you would then move forward. However, in God's mind or from His perspective it began before the foundation of the world. Ephesians 1:4 says, "...even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him in love..." Before Genesis 1, God had the plan of redemption already formulated. This means that God planned this in eternity past. Before "in the beginning," God existed and planned our redemption. So when God was all that there was, the history of redemption began. That may be hard for us to fathom because we cannot think in terms of eternity. Unlike God, we are constrained by time. The fact remains that God planned our redemption through His Son Jesus Christ before the world was even created. It was not a second option; it was the original plan from the start. We may not understand it all, but we can gain glimpses of it throughout the revealed Word of God, which is itself a "story of redemption that spans from creation to re-creation" (i.e., Genesis 1-2 to Revelation 21-22). Some of you may already be jumping ahead of me and asking, "Why would God create the world if He knew that one day He would have to redeem it? Could He not foresee what would go wrong and prevent that from happening so that creation would remain 'good' and not need to be redeemed?" Those questions are very important. In our study of the history of redemption, these questions will only be dealt with briefly, and they will have to wait until later. There is no need to get ahead of ourselves just yet. But to satisfy the question for the time being, I will give you the main reason, which will be the only reason addressed in this particular study, that God chose to create a world that He knew would fall into sin and need to be redeemed from it. It is for His glory, and I hope as we progress in our study that you will see how that statement is definitely true. The study of the history of redemption has interested me for a long time now. I have preached on the subject as an overview and taught on it in detail. But I wanted more. I wanted to go even more in depth on this subject, and that is what I intend to do here. Before we begin, I want to explain what we will be doing. We are not going to cover every aspect of redemption in Scripture, because that would cover the whole Bible. For instance, the Book of Hosea is full of rich illustrations of redemption, but we will not cover it in this study. So this is not an all-inclusive look at redemption; it is a study of the highlights. It would take a volume much larger than this, probably multiple volumes, to truly give the history of redemption the study it deserves. We will start with the creation account. Since God's plan came to fruition before the foundation of the world, then it makes sense that we start at the creation event in our study of the history of redemption. We will end with Christ, who is the completion of God's plan for redemption. I hope you enjoy this study, and I pray that God uses it to draw you closer to Him.

Always Before Me is a story about how a man who lost his dream learns to snatch victory from terrible tragedy and learns how to find what he has been looking for his entire life. It is a story about what to do if your failures are always before you. It is a story about three men– a saint, a sinner and a man, like many men, struggling to find his way among life’s many disappointments. The saint is an innocent priest sentenced to prison who shows by his words, actions and patient bearing of suffering what it takes to be a saint in the modern world. The sinner is a man who was accused of sexual misconduct in a high school where he had been a teacher, and who, because of the accusations, can now only find a job as a prison psychologist. The main character is another man unjustly accused of sexual misconduct and, although not prosecuted, is forced to give up his dream of teaching and is assigned to be a prison chaplain. Each man endures many trials and much suffering that brings out the flaws and strengths in each of their characters. Each man finally succeeds in his journey but only after facing many surprises and much conflict and ultimately an elaborate intrigue involving a gang leader in the prison which leads to a shocking event that will affect these men and change their destiny forever.
