A BOOK BY GREG HENRY WATERS THE DEATH OF A MUSICIAN “A Composer of Art Music and the Dark Age of Music” by Greg Henry Waters Mark Twain, said, "to do something that no one else did is the real joy of life." This is what I am trying to do. We have to create a real culture not let the McDonald culture take over. I like gentleness in music. We need gentleness in the world not force. God is gentle. If music be the voice of God it should be gentle. This book is dedicated to al the people whom have participated in my life! Special Thanks to Steve Devitt and Kirsten Borg for thinking the book is important! Also to my two most important teachers, Bianca Rogge and Alfred Schmielewski! (Yogi Narayana)

This is about the decline of instrumental music about year 1960 when all the orchestras were taken out of the TV industries and radio. The development of the drum, guitar, bass guitar singer and or singer. Now we have mechanical music created by people who have no real education in music. And creative instrumental music is dead or in a few major music schools. They are called rock stars but the level of their performance ability is really not on the instrumental level.I have no answer for this problem except to bring up the subject and to get people to think about their qualities issues which for me they just have disappear and is of no concern in our society. So I call these last 57 years of lost standards.

The Dark Ages And The Age Of Gold written by Russell A. Fraser and has been published by Princeton University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-03-08 with History categories.

In this original and provocative book Russell Fraser has set himself no less a task than the description and interpretation of one of the signal "facts" of Western history—the breaking away of the present from the medieval past. He locates this break in England in the sixteenth century, and on the continent two hundred years earlier. Unafraid to synthesize, he weaves a rich fabric of quotations, allusions, and examples from art, music, philosophy, theology, and physical science to explain the cultural transition to the modern world. Although the author ranges from Plato to the present, his focus is concentrated on the major figures of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, especially Shakespeare, "the last and greatest of medieval artists." His intention is always to draw together and compare medieval. Renaissance, and contemporary attitudes so that the reader can see the past becoming the present, how and when this transformation occurred, and for what reasons. Originally published in 1973. The Princeton Legacy Library uses the latest print-on-demand technology to again make available previously out-of-print books from the distinguished backlist of Princeton University Press. These editions preserve the original texts of these important books while presenting them in durable paperback and hardcover editions. The goal of the Princeton Legacy Library is to vastly increase access to the rich scholarly heritage found in the thousands of books published by Princeton University Press since its founding in 1905.

Emerging From The Dark Age Ahead written by Charles Fensham and has been published by Clements Publishing Group this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011 with Religion categories.

In this fascinating presentation of faith, Charles Fensham argues cogently and passionately for a church that embraces hope in spite of the dark and destructive pressures all around it. Although a metaphoric dark time awaits Christianity, Fensham assures his readers that this darkness merely conceals the light for the future. "Emerging from the Dark Age Ahead " offers a prophetic and challenging call for contemporary Christians to ask where we have come from, where we are, and where we are going. "Professor Fensham borrows from Jane Jacobs the metaphor of 'the Dark Age ahead, ' bringing social and cultural analysis to bear upon a fresh theology of church and mission for our time and place. Drawing from deep roots in the trinitarian tradition, and borrowing insight from historic monasticism, he calls for a pilgrim, steward church that will speak and act constructively in the coming time of troubles. This is a creative, original work that will stimulate theological students and lay folk as well."-Harold Wells, Professor Emeritus, Emmanuel College, University of Toronto "Insightful, provocative, instructive-words that describe how this book helps the church navigate the deep cultural challenge it now faces of massive technique organized through digitalization. Grounding the church's life in a missional hermeneutic of reading Scripture and the church's identity in the social Trinity, Fensham boldly, yet carefully, charts a course for engaging the dark age ahead."- Craig Van Gelder, Ph.D., Professor of Congregational Mission, Luther Seminary Charles Fensham has a unique perspective on the emergent church. Born in apartheid South Africa and raised within the apartheid-tainted Reformed church, he is an immigrant to Canada with experiences of the church in France, Switzerland, the South Pacific and Africa. He teaches at Knox College at the University of Toronto.

Music both influences and reflects the times in which it was created. In the Middle Ages, the previous Dark Ages, the Crusades, and the feudal system all impacted the types and forms of music in the period. Charlemagne standardized the church mass and promoted the Gregorian chant, to the point of threatening excommunication if any other were performed. Musical notation — the staff line — was developed during the period. The troubadours of France, Meistersingers of Germany, the Cantus Firmus of Italy, and the instruments that played the music are all included in this thorough guide to music of the middle ages. Topics include: the British Isles, Dance Music, Eastern Europe, France, Germanic Lands, Harps, Italy, the Low Countries, Spain, and more.

In this indispensable book, urban visionary Jane Jacobs argues that as agrarianism gives way to a technology-based future, we’re at risk of cultural collapse. Jacobs—renowned author of The Death and Life of Great American Cities and The Economy of Cities—pinpoints five pillars of our culture that are in serious decay: community and family; higher education; the effective practice of science; taxation, and government; and the self-regulation of the learned professions. The corrosion of these pillars, Jacobs argues, is linked to societal ills such as environmental crisis, racism, and the growing gulf between rich and poor. But this is a hopeful book as well as a warning. Drawing on a vast frame of reference—from fifteenth-century Chinese shipbuilding to Ireland’s cultural rebirth—Jacobs suggests how the cycles of decay can be arrested and our way of life renewed. Invigorating and accessible, Dark Age Ahead is not only the crowning achievement of Jane Jacobs’ career, but one of the most important works of our time.

IS A NEW DARK AGE COMING? As a candidate, President Biden boldly promised that America “would transition away from the oil and gas industry,” replacing it with “renewable energy over time.” He further doubled down on that promise by issuing executive orders on his first day in office. But has anyone really asked the question, is that possible? Fossil fuels have lifted humanity from the depths of poverty, the drudgery of manual labor, the edge of starvation and being captive to the whims of nature. The President’s proposals put all of that progress at risk by the idea that renewables can replace fossil fuels and the thousands of products derived from them. Too much of the debate and discussion about energy is rampant with overly simplistic ideas and misinformation. Take a journey through history and discover how fossil fuels touch every aspect of life, making humanity wealthier, healthier, and safer. Will the proposed world of renewable energy be bright or will it usher in a coming dark age?
