In the 20 years that Ive known MarionI can only say that Ive seen a boy grow into a man. Regardless of the distance that life has put between us, we always remained in each others lives at the craziest times. Its like being a part of someones life, sharing their pain and success as if you are in the same room with them while they experience whatever they are going through at that current moment. I know what it is to feel as if youve lost the person that you loveAlthough that person still remains alive in my life. I know what it feels like to be a single parent ultimately only wanting the best for your children. January 23rd, The Day I Made A Decision is a message for everyone to hear, especially the men in todays world. They need to know how great they are regardless of their past or flaws. Decision Made written by Peter Bryn Davies and has been published by Austin Macauley Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-01-05 with Political Science categories.

Peter has always believed in his mother’s words: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” He would agree that this should be the way of the world. However, reality exists, and the world doesn’t work that way. Good and bad people exist, and they always will. If the bad were dealt with properly, we’d all be happy. But Peter is sure it’s not going to happen. Our jails are filling up fast, so there is a tendency these days for the justice system to go easy on many criminals. The general public is unhappy and wants things to improve, but what and who on earth could improve the present situation? Can anything actually be done? Certainly, the police can’t do anything. Their hands are tied. Is there any way to improve things for the good people in this country? It would have to be someone with radical, maybe even illegal, ideas, willing accomplices, lots of spare money, and some inside knowledge. Get all that, and then maybe you could do something.

Risk And Presidential Decision Making written by Luca Trenta and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-05-20 with Political Science categories.

This book aims at gauging whether the nature of US foreign policy decision-making has changed after the Cold War as radically as a large body of literature seems to suggest, and develops a new framework to interpret presidential decision-making in foreign policy. It locates the study of risk in US foreign policy in a wider intellectual landscape that draws on contemporary debates in historiography, international relations and Presidential studies. Based on developments in the health and environment literature, the book identifies the President as the ultimate risk-manager, demonstrating how a President is called to perform a delicate balancing act between risks on the domestic/political side and risks on the strategic/international side. Every decision represents a ‘risk vs. risk trade-off,’ in which the management of one ‘target risk’ leads to the development ‘countervailing risks.’ The book applies this framework to the study three major crises in US foreign policy: the Cuban Missile Crisis, the seizure of the US Embassy in Tehran in 1979, and the massacre at Srebrenica in 1995. Each case-study results from substantial archival research and over twenty interviews with policymakers and academics, including former President Jimmy Carter and former Senator Bob Dole. This book is ideal for postgraduate researchers and academics in US foreign policy, foreign policy decision-making and the US Presidency as well as Departments and Institutes dealing with the study of risk in the social sciences. The case studies will also be of great use to undergraduate students.

Making good decisions quickly is what marks out truly great leaders from the rest of us. Decision-making is one of the most sought-after skills today, but most of us have never been taught, but one most of us have never been taught. Aged 19, I went off-piste snowboarding, way before I had the skills or experience to do so, and very quickly found myself hurtling towards the edge of a cliff face on sheet ice. Within minutes, I was literally hanging onto a boulder for dear life, with my legs dangling over the precipice. Every single decision I made over the next few hours was life or death. There were no easy choices. Each right decision could be undone by a wrong one, and I was very aware of how close I was to death the whole time: the cold, the wind, the fading light, the fact no one knew where I was, the fact I had no food or water on me. That day, my brain worked overtime to keep me alive. What I learned has actually been a enabled me to approach decisions in all areas of my life with ease In addition to sharing my story with you, I will also explore 6 of the best decision-making models, as well as teach you how to maintain the mindset of a master decision-maker. After reading this book, you'll find making good decisions quick and easy and will no longer waste time stressing over them or avoid stepping up to make them.

In today's competitive, always-on global marketplace, businesses need to be able to make better decisions more quickly. And they need to be able to change those decisions immediately in order to adapt to this increasingly dynamic business environment. Whether it is a regulatory change in your industry, a new product introduction by a competitor that your organization needs to react to, or a new market opportunity that you want to quickly capture by changing your product pricing. Decisions like these lie at the heart of your organization's key business processes. In this IBM® RedpaperTM publication, we explore the benefits of identifying and documenting decisions within the context of your business processes. We describe a straightforward approach for doing this by using a business process and decision discovery tool called IBM Blueworks LiveTM, and we apply these techniques to a fictitious example from the auto insurance industry to help you better understand the concepts. This paper was written with a non-technical audience in mind. It is intended to help business users, subject matter experts, business analysts, and business managers get started discovering and documenting the decisions that are key to their company's business operations.

What are you really missing out on? You're home on a Friday night, scrolling through Instagram, ready to go to bed. You see pictures on your timeline of a party you were invited to, but didn't go to. You were confident when you said no, but now you can't stop thinking about it, and you start feeling worse. You have FOMO, or, Fear of Missing Out. Coined in a Harvard Business School article, FOMO has become a global term to describe the decimating anxiety when thinking other people are having better, more fulfilling, experiences than you are. It's a natural, biological response, but that doesn't make it feel any better. Amplified by the rise of social media, #FOMO has become a cultural crisis—so what's the cure? Patrick McGinnis, creator of the term FOMO, has been thinking about it for seventeen years—and he has a solution: decision-making. Learning to weigh the costs and benefits of your choices, prioritizing your decisions, and listening to your gut are central to silencing FOMO and its lesser-known cousin, FOBO: Fear of a Better Option. After all, don't you want to feel comfortable and confident in your decisions? Written with self-evaluations throughout the book, Fear of Missing Out: Practical Decision Making in a World of Overwhelming Choice helps you ascertain and eliminate the parts of your life that are causing more anxiety than happiness. So give this a read, and then go to that party, start that new book, create a new goal—or don't. Make that decision, and be confident in it: it's the first of many of its kind.
