This book deals with the process that leads to innovations. It provides an overall method for innovating in companies. As the method originated in Delft, it is called The Delft Innovation Method, and it consists of five interconnected elements: 1) a general model of the corporate innovation process; 2) a facilitative leadership style; 3) a diversely composed innovation team; 4) the use of creative techniques; and 5) the connection of the company to the external world. The Delft Innovation Method is written in a basic style with clarifying examples and illustrations. It starts a learning process on corporate product- and service-innovation. The metaphor of going on an 'innovation country tour of discovery' is used for structuring the book. It offers a general description of the future innovation country, a detailed roadmap of that country, and details are given about how to organize for this trip and how to find fellow travelers.

Integrated Creative Problem Solving written by Jan Buijs and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013 with Engineering design categories.

Integrated Creative Problem Solving is the second book in the Delft Studies on Innovating series. This series is intended to give innovation/design researchers, who are connected to the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering of the Delft University of Technology, a platform to share their knowledge with a wider audience. Creativity is one of the building blocks of the first book in this series (The Delft Innovation Method: A Design Thinker's Guide to Innovation - ISBN 978 94 9094 747 7). Therefore, it seems logical to have the second book of the series go into details about creativity, creative problem solving, and organizing creative sessions. The central theme of the book is integration. Its approach seeks to integrate people and process, process and techniques, techniques with content, ideas with implementation, and, when all are combined, there should be commitment and fun. Integrated Creative Problem Solving demonstrates how creative sessions are organized and how they should function smoothly. The session's organizer - a specialist called the 'Creative Facilitator' (metaphorically known as a 'juggler') - uses creativity techniques within a group to dive into the process of serious problem solving. The 'Creative Facilitator'/'juggler' plays with cones or balls (lookalikes for ideas) together with the group. During this play, the balls can change into cones or cubes, the weight and the materials will change, as well as the stickiness of the surfaces of the cones, the cubes, and the balls. And, during all these unexpected changes, the show must go on. Integration for this juggler means balancing all the different aspects of the process of creative problem solving. The pace of development in knowledge and know-how in the Organisation Sciences, Logistics and Information Technology is rapid. However, the gap between those who practice these sciences and the practicing manager is becoming larger rather than smaller. The Delft Systems Approach describes a fundamental approach for analysing industrial systems, which emphasizes a concept that can be used by all disciplines involved. It sets out to close the gap between theory and practice.

Philosophy may not seem to be an obvious source to discover methods for successful product innovation management. However, this book shows that systematic reflection on the nature of product innovation management, supported by insights from the philosophy of technology, can illuminate the innovation process in technology and engineering. Presenting methodological guidelines and philosophical reflections, this book guides readers through each phase of product innovation. At each step, ideas from the philosophy of technology are translated into practical guidelines for managing these processes. The book works through the philosophical perspectives on innovation, methods in innovation design and research, and the value and ethical implications of innovation. Bridging the gap between philosophical context and practical methodologies, this book will be highly valuable for postgraduate students and academics researching and teaching innovation and philosophy of technology.

"Product and process design - driving sustainable innovation" is the 2nd edition of a comprehensive textbook for product and process design courses at BSc, MSc, EngD, and PhD level. It covers both heuristics based design methods as well as systems engineering approaches. It contains specific methods to co-design products and processes, so that both designs are better than when these designs are made separately. This integrated combination makes the book unique. For making designs that contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations specific methods are provided for the People, Planet, and Prosperity dimensions. This second edition of the book includes examples and exercises for each design method, which makes it very suitable for teaching purposes. The book is furthermore of interest to industrial process and product developers for many industry branches as it provides methods for design, modelling, and experimental validation for each innovation stage. It is also very useful for R&D managers as it provides guidelines for essential activities in each innovation stage (discovery, concept, feasibility, development, detailed engineering), leading to successful implementations of new processes and new products.

Responsible Innovation In Large Technological Systems written by J. Roland Ortt and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-03-04 with Business & Economics categories.

Large technological systems, such as seaports, nuclear power stations, wind farms and natural gas extraction, provide vital functions for society. And yet these large technological systems have an impact on different stakeholder groups in both positive and negative ways. This book defines responsible innovation and describes how both the innovation process and the resulting innovation outcome can be designed, created and implemented in a way that respects the various stakeholder groups involved and affected by the system. Taking a case-based approach, a number of large technological systems are profiled, including hydraulic engineering, nuclear energy, smart metering, and wind power. The values of each of the stakeholder groups, and the costs and benefits of the systems presented, are analysed. The book concludes by combining these insights to provide a framework for how responsible innovation of large technological systems can be implemented in practice. The book will be of particular interest to undergraduate and postgraduate students and researchers in technology and innovation management, and corporate governance, CSR and business ethics.
