This book, a sequel to a well-received book titled “Bridging Peace and Sustainability Amidst Global Transformations,” delves deeper into the entwined roots of peace and sustainability and emphasizes their interdependence. How are peace and sustainability interconnected, and what key factors define the relationship between them? These questions were examined at the NERPS 2024 conference in Hiroshima and are central to our narrative. In this book, we explore the synergy of peace and sustainability through theoretical frameworks and real-world examples. We recognize that while the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development has acknowledged the link between peace and sustainability, a significant gap remains. Too often, efforts to promote peace and sustainability run parallel, never intertwining, losing the chance to bolster each other. We argue for merging the peace and sustainability agendas to confront contemporary challenges, calling for action to enhance and take advantage of their mutual reinforcement. Through diverse perspectives, this collection illuminates the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of this nexus, serving as a guide for policymakers, a reference for researchers, and a catalyst for dialogue among sectors committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Ending a two-decade-long armed insurgency, the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Peace Accord was signed in December 1997 by the government of Bangladesh and the PCJSS, the political representative of the Hill people. However, because of ambiguities within the accord and the failure to implement many of its crucial elements, the situation in the CHT today is far from peaceful. Amena Mohsin considers the context, processes, and politics of peacebuilding in the CHT. Shedding light on the political and diplomatic tradeoffs involved in negotiating and implementing the peace accord, Mohsin suggests interventions at the local, national, and international levels aimed at moving toward resolution of the conflict.

Crafting Peace In Kashmir written by Verghese Koithara and has been published by SAGE this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004-08-30 with Political Science categories.
Presenting a completely new perspective on the Kashmir conflict, this book argues that resolving the situation can be brought about through a `peace strategy' rather than a `war strategy'. Through an analysis of the conflicts in Northern Ireland, Sri Lanka and Palestine, the author draws parallels between the India-Pakistan conflict. He also presents reasons why a durable peace - based on the Line of Control becoming the settled border and the two parts of Jammu and Kashmir being given parallel and substantial autonomy - can be achieved in today's conditions. The book concludes that peace between India and Pakistan is possible based on political realism and that strategic solutions that safeguard the interests of both countries are available.

The Many Sides of Peace comes out of thirty years of living in a Catholic lay community, attempting to understand and practice the compelling ideas of gospel-centered nonviolent love. The book attempts to speak to the signs of these times for those who seek peace and liberation from both war and the looming ecological Armageddon. It is a faith based on the revelation of Jesus and the conviction that a love that is nonviolent will save this environmentally threatened planet and its warlike people from an "at risk" status to a more peaceful and sustainable one. This is a message of hope, a "how to live" spiritual manual for human/earth survival that can help create a bold and beautiful world.
