This thought-provoking book demystifies dowsing and presents this ancient science as a powerful tool for self-knowledge. Includes a brief history of dowsing, and step-by-step instructions for learning to use L-rods, Y-rods, and pendulums, as well as non-device dowsing. Shows how dowsing is used for locating water, gold and other minerals, buried artifacts, ancient ritual sites, and in police work to help find missing persons.

Building on the principles and practices presented in The Divining Mind (Richard Wright's first book on dowsing, coauthored by T. Edward Ross II), authors Richard and Pat Wright define dowsing as the "process of uncovering information through the medium of the self." The Wrights believe, as do many dowsers, that the ability to dowse is innate, but they also feel that its proper development is contingent upon the parallel unfoldment of the spiritual qualities in our nature. Through this process, the dowser becomes increasingly cognizant of the interconnectedness of all aspects of life and begins to play his or her part as an agent of healing and positive change. Includes detailed information on: • Responsibility in dowsing • Practical dowsing • Earth energies • Planetary stewardship • Healing and prayer • The supersensory worlds An indispensable guide for the advanced dowser as well as a beginner's sourcebook.

Auto-movement, i.e. the non-consciously controlled movements of the body, comprise a large part of the techniques used in magic: the pendulum, the divining rod, automatic writing, glossolalia (speaking in languages one has not learned), and several forms of telekinesis. Auto-movement also occurs in inconspicuous places such as drawing the "right" tarot card - which, after all, is not consciously controlled. There are also some forms of auto-movement, where the movement has not been decided by the one who moves, as in sleepwalking, hypnosis, stigmata, possession, etc. ... and in advertising, which also leads people to do something that they have not decided themselves. There are also some collective forms of auto-movement such as the crop circles. Auto-movement is primarily a "monitor" for the subconscious mind. Since telepathy is an ability of the subconscious mind, auto-movement can also be used for telepathic perception. Correspondingly, auto-movement is also helpful in the use of telekinesis, which is an ability of the subconscious to act. All in all, a closer look at the various forms of automatic, non-consciously controlled movements, as in scrying, results in a much better understanding of the psyche and a more effective approach to magic, as well as some new techniques, such as "sending out one's own body", in which one's own body can perform tasks that would not be possible in normal consciousness.

It's widely regarded as being a psychic method of looking for water, but it's so much more than that – you can dowse for everything from lost objects to the self-knowledge hidden in your subconscious – and this book will show you exactly how. All of us have intuition but in this modern world we have become disconnected from this ancient power. Uri Geller is famous around the world for his intuitive, paranormal powers, which range from bending spoons to astounding feats of dowsing, such as his location of huge offshore oil field on behalf of Mexico's national oil company (for which he was rewarded with Mexican citizenship). In this amazing book, he guides you step by step through the hidden world of dowsing that he knows so well. Simple exercises in the form of Uri mini-class activities, and fun games such as crystal hide-and-seek, teach the basic skills you need to dowse, whether you use divining rods, a pendulum, a forked twig or just your hands. The book then explains how to use these skills to find everything from lost objects to water, fossils, archaeological remains and even hidden treasure! Most importantly, Uri reveals how dowsing can help you unlock submerged thoughts and knowledge and evaluate vital choices in business, love and family life. Also including real-life case studies of amazing dowsing events, stories of celebrity dowsers through history and background explanation of the science of dowsing, this is a super accessible and fun guide to the most useful of the paranormal skills.

Haunted Ground written by Darryl V. Caterine and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-08-10 with Religion categories.

This fascinating and insightful tour through present-day meetings of Spiritualists, UFOlogists, and dowsers illuminates our obsession with the paranormal and challenges the misunderstanding of the paranormal as a marginal or inconsequential feature of America's religious landscape. According to a 2005 Gallup poll, 75 percent of Americans believe in some form of paranormal activity. The United States has had a collective fascination with the paranormal since the mid-1800s, and it remains an integral part of our culture. Haunted Ground: Journeys through a Paranormal America examines three of the most vibrant paranormal gatherings in the United States—Lily Dale, a Spiritualist summer camp; the Roswell UFO Festival; and the American Society of Dowsers' annual convention of "water witches"—to explore and explain the reasons for our obsession with the paranormal. Both academically informed and thoroughly entertaining, this book takes readers on a "road trip" through our nation, guided by professor of American religion Darryl V. Caterine, PhD. The author interprets seemingly unrelated case studies of phantasmagoria collectively as an integral part of the modern discourse about "nature" as ultimate reality. Along the way, Dr. Caterine reveals how Americans' interest in the paranormal is rooted in their anxieties about cultural, political, and economic instability—and in a historic sense of alienation and homelessness.
