The Divinity Of Jesus Christ Revisited In The Third Millennium written by Leopold Sarr and has been published by AuthorHouse this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12 with Religion categories.

Biblical Christianity is challenged today by other religions such as Hinduism, Islam, Mormonism, Buddhism, Jehovah s Witness, Scientology, to name a few, including atheists and agnostics, who claim that Jesus was simply a man, a great teacher or guru, or a prophet of God who worked his way to godhood. Are such claims supported by the evidence? Can we trust the Bible to tell us the truth about Jesus? Is Jesus Christ truly God? Can we find evidence of his deity in the Old Testament? Does the New Testament affirm unequivocally that He is God? Are there reliable non-Christian sources that back such claims of deity? This book aims at addressing these fundamental questions while providing solid internal and external evidence of the divinity of Jesus Christ. In this age of plural spirituality, thirst for truth, and in need of an evidence-based dialogue among various religions, the book makes a compelling case for a closer scrutiny of prophecies contained in the Bible.

Is Jesus Divine written by Kyung Joon Kim and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-10 with categories.

Is Jesus Divine thoroughly examines all the evidences of Jesus’ deity regarding his Messianic views, personality, and behavior while analyzing with cultural and psychological perspectives as well. The investigation produced compelling, objective evidences for Jesus’ claims of divinity. Christian thinkers have relegated Christian truths to a subjective domain of personal experiences only devoid of objective foundation. By abandoning rational approaches, the development of contemporary churches’ apologetics has been mainly dependent on subjective approaches such as mythical feelings or encounters with the power of the Holy Spirit. Consequently, the arguments for Christian faith have lacked credibility and were largely ignored by outsiders. The Bible, on the other hand, provides more than enough plausible evidences and does not ignore human rationality but rather appeals to it. Author Kyung Joon Kim shares that one does not need to abandon either faith or reason but needs both to better comprehend the claims of Jesus. Even though the Bible states firmly Jesus is both God and human, the dispute over the divine and human nature of Jesus has been an age-old issue throughout the church history. To settle this issue one must carefully investigate the claims of Jesus and his disciples with a proper understanding of the Messianic view in the Old Testament. After years of investigation, the author gathered numerous evidences of Jesus’ deity. The author claims the credibility of Jesus’ claims for his deity can be largely determined by examining the records in the Bible with a rational approach. Even though most Christians agree that the Messiah is the central figure in the Old Testament, they do not really understand how extensively the Messianic theme runs through the entire Old Testament. In Part 1, the view of the Messiah in the Old Testament is presented by examining Messianic types and prophecies. It is critical to assess how thoroughly Jesus understood the Old Testament view of the Messiah. However, Jesus’ view of the Messiah was completely different from all other Jews including his own disciples. The Jews always believed a political Messiah to reclaim the glory of the Davidic kingdom. Israelites have never accepted even the thought of the sacrifice of the Messiah’s life for the forgiveness of their sin. They still reject Jesus as the Messiah because of his death on the cross. Jesus, on the other hand, taught the Messiah must suffer, die, resurrect, ascend back to heaven, and come back again. He, with supernatural insight, used many types and prophecies in the Old Testament to explain his Messianic mission. The validity of Jesus’ unique view of the Messiah is extensively examined against the Old Testament view of the Messiah. The validity of Jesus' claim of fulfillment of Messianic types and prophecies is also examined based on the records in the New Testament. It is astonishing to discover how extensively Jesus fulfilled Messianic prophecies and types with marvelous precision. In Part 2, Jesus’ personality, behavior, and ministry skill are examined with various perspectives. With a special insight on the issues of the human heart, Jesus successfully transformed his disciples’ hearts to make them new people inside out. He accomplished the world evangelization by imparting his vision of the Messianic kingdom and transforming his unschooled, slow-learning disciples to dedicated leaders of the early church. He criticized Pharisee’s hypocrisy which was a natural outcome of their performance-based righteousness. He was completely free from world views and traditional practices of his contemporary society. A brief summary of evidences of Jesus’ resurrection and comparison between Jesus and other religious founders is also presented. The primary target audiences are Bible and seminary students and biblical scholars searching for decisive evidences of the divinity of Jesus. This book also targets a secondary market of young Christians who desire a more solid foundation of faith with a firm grasp of who Jesus is in light of his claim as the Messiah and his fulfillment of Messianic prophecies and types in the Old Testament.

Evidence For The Historical Jesus written by Gary R. Habermas and has been published by Christian Publishing House this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-11-28 with Religion categories.

The search for the historical Jesus is a hot topic in both popular and academic circles today and has drawn a lot of attention from national magazines, such as Time, Newsweek, and U.S. News & World Report. Further, the media has given an undue amount of attention to the Jesus Seminar's outlandish statements, a self-selected liberal group representing a tiny percentage of New Testament scholarship. Dr. Gary Habermas will address the questions surrounding the debate over the historical Jesus and show a significant number of historical facts about Jesus in secular and non-New Testament sources that prove that the Jesus of history is the same Jesus of the Christian faith. The author of EVIDENCE FOR THE HISTORICAL JESUS is Dr. Gary Habermas, author of the book, The Historical Jesus and about twenty other volumes. He received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University. Dr. Habermas is chairman of the Department of Philosophy at Liberty University. He has written more than 100 articles, mostly on the life of Jesus, which have appeared in scholarly journals and elsewhere. Herein you will learn why Jesus is one of the most historically verified lives of ancient times.

This book continues Sinclairs series of volumes attempting to demonstrate that a critical scholar can affirm that the books of the New Testament are true and highly relevant. The Gospel of John presents a special challenge to this series because the gospel claims to give us a trustworthy account of who Jesus was, and yet, critical scholars know that John is not as historically accurate as the other gospels. Johns picture of Jesus -- both of what he said and did -- differs profoundly from that in Matthew, Mark, and Luke. These other gospels are earlier than John and fit much more closely with conditions in Palestine when Jesus lived. Nevertheless, the Gospel of John explicitly asserts both that its principal author knew Jesus personally and that what he wrote is true. Johns Gospel self-consciously attempts to present history from Gods perspective, and this claim is plausible if one accepts the gospels basic understanding of what God did to save the world through Jesus. Thus, the gospel of John is ultimately based on historical facts, but it interprets those facts through a theology. The gospel is not concerned with what people during Jesus lifetime thought he was doing, but with what the church later concluded God had done through Jesus. If we accept this larger interpretative framework, the gospels presentation of what "actually happened" becomes plausible, even compelling.

John Piper has had a profound impact on countless men and women over his nearly thirty years of ministry. From his online ministry with Desiring God to his preaching ministry at Bethlehem Baptist to his writing ministry in over thirty books, his faithful service has encouraged and challenged many with God's Word. Piper's influence does not stem from his own abilities and accomplishments, but finds its source in his consistent and humble leading of others to Scripture, where the breathtaking glory of God is displayed in all its wonder. We rejoice and are changed as we encounter glorious truths about God in Piper's ministry. It is in this spirit that friends and colleagues of Piper, including Wayne Grudem, D. A. Carson, Randy Alcorn, and others, honor him by presenting essays covering topics central to his ministry: prayer, the sovereignty of God, justification, Jonathan Edwards, Christian Hedonism, and more. Pastors, scholars, and lay leaders will benefit from this tribute to a man who has labored so faithfully for the fame of God's name.

"A pre-modern baseball umpire would have said something like this: 'There's balls, and there's strikes, and I call 'em as they are.' The modernist would have said, 'There's balls, and there's strikes, and I call 'em as I see 'em.' And the postmodernist umpire would say, 'They ain't nothing until I call 'em.'" With that humorous quote, Ravi Zacharias illustrates the challenge postmodernism poses to Christians passionate about evangelism. How do you communicate truth to a world that isn't sure what truth is--or even if truth is? How do you commend spiritual absolutes to people who insist there are none? If you've puzzled, even struggled, over such questions, the book you hold in your hands is required reading, Telling the Truth provides informed insights on the heart of the Gospel, the soul of postmodern culture, and their complex interface. This book is a compilation of thoughts and strategies from twenty-nine prominent practitioners of contemporary evangelism. Originating at a three-day conference held at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Telling the Truth draws on knowledge gained in the trenches by Ravi Zacharias, Kelly Monroe, D.A. Carson, Ajith Fernando, and other notables. It will open your eyes to how the contest for souls is fought, guerilla-style, at a multitude of fronts: relationships, the university, ethnicity, reason and emotion, the pulpit, communications . . . in short, the broad spectrum of human experience and values. You'll be challenged to discern between the unchanging Gospel and the flexible means by which we communicate it. Telling the Truth can help you lay the groundwork necessary to point biblically uninformed, postmodern men and women toward an encounter with non-negotiable truth -- an absolute revealed in the Bible that points to the reality of sin and the need for a Savior.
