Created over a hundred years ago by Wall Street Journal founder Charles H. Dow, the Dow Theory is the grandfather and foundation of all technical stock market analyses. The Theory operates on the premise that the market itself is the best predictor of future performance. By using Dow averages to explain the current condition of the market, forecast future trends, and determine investment strategy, the Dow Theory continues to be a sound technique for successful stock investing. Cashing in on the Dow takes a contemporary look at the Dow Theory and shows investors how they can effectively --and profitably--apply the theory to today's rapidly changing market. With discussion s on origin, evolution, and core influence on other market indicators, this invaluable reference offers insights into how to understand the signals generated by stock market indicators, leading to better stock selection timing, and higher returns.

Followed with discipline and correct understanding, these strategies can help you trade the stock market profitably. In 1901 there were days when dealings on the Stock Exchange exceeded 3,000,000 shares and the machinery of speculation threatened to break down under the intensity of the strain to which it was subjected. Whether the records of that year will ever be broken no man can foretell...-from "Chapter II: Stock Speculation"In 1884, Charles Dow, the Wall Street Journal's famous first editor, published the first stock market average... and in the years after, he formulated, through his editorials, a wide-ranging economic philosophy that has come to be known as "Dow's Theory." In fact, S.A. Nelson coined the term when he collected Dow's editorials together in this 1902 volume. Topics discussed include: .methods of reading the market.cutting losses short.the danger in overtrading.the recurrence of crises.the tipster.and much more.Dow's observations and Nelson's commentary sound strikingly modern even a century later, and remain vital components of an intelligent understanding of fundamental concepts of the stock market.S. A. NELSON was a reporter for The Wall Street Journal during the early 20th-century.

Technical Analysis Of Stock Trends written by Robert D. Edwards and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-08 with Business & Economics categories.
2011 Reprint of 1958 Fourth Edition. Full facsimile of the original edition, not reproduced with Optical Recognition Software. In 1948 Robert D. Edwards and John Magee published "Technical Analysis of Stock Trends" which is widely considered to be one of the seminal works of the discipline. It is exclusively concerned with trend analysis and chart patterns and remains in use to the present. As is obvious, early technical analysis was almost exclusively the analysis of charts, because the processing power of computers was not available for statistical analysis. "Technical analysis" is a financial term used to denote a security analysis discipline for forecasting the direction of prices through the study of past market data, primarily price and volume. Behavioral economics and quantitative analysis incorporate technical analysis, which being an aspect of active management stands in contradiction to much of modern portfolio theory.
