"Ye're under me protection now, lass. 'Tis yers, whether ye accept it or not." The Duke's Guard: The men in black who have sworn an oath to protect the Duke of Wyndmere and his family from enemies that would stop at nothing to discredit and destroy him! Darby Garahan's latest assignment, to uncover the source behind the threat to kill the duke's brother-in-law, is complicated when the angel of the streets asks for his help. He must rescue a young woman who has been lured to London with the promise of employment-only to end up at a boarding house rumored to be a front for a brothel. Aimee Anderson answers an advert for a position at a milliner's shop in London, taking charge of her life after a lord compromised her on the way to Gretna Green a few years earlier, leaving her stranded at an inn. The handsome-as-sin Irishman who rescues Aimee reminds her that the past does not have to define the future if she has the courage to make a change. Rescuing her is just the beginning. He must convince her that she is not damaged goods in order to gain her trust and win her heart and her hand in marriage. Danger stalks in the night, but it will have to challenge The Duke's Enforcer. Nothing short of dying will deter him from his duty to protect the duke and his family! Aidan is forced to rethink the direction of his life and his role within the Martel Group after spending so many years trying to avoid the responsibilities his grandfather tried to foist upon him. But if he wanted to stand as an equal beside Misaki and Kristof, changes needed to be made. Aidan would need to step up and take charge of the Martel Group while casting off the bratty man-child persona he’d hidden behind for years. But nothing in life ever came that easily. And nothing was guaranteed. Believing that his feelings toward the two men aren’t reciprocated, Aidan chooses to walk away from them and starts to shut them out of his life. Dukes is the second book in a dark mafia series filled with angst, violence, romantic drama, betrayal, jealous rages, and a bisexual awakening, as the men of the Omori-Vasilev Syndicate fight to hold onto those they love amidst a gang war. The books are not standalone and must be read in order. Contains both MMM polyamory, and MM romances.

In the first quarter of the thirteenth century, an anonymous Flemish writer set in writing, in Old French, a chronicle of Normandy, England, Flanders and northern France. It ranged from the arrival of the Vikings in Normandy to the early years of the reign of King Henry III of England, ending with an account of the translation of the relics of St Thomas Becket to their magnificent new shrine in Canterbury Cathedral in 1220. Along the way, it adopted and formed part of a tradition of writing of the history of the dukes of Normandy and kings of England, a tradition which had developed in Latin in the eleventh and twelfth centuries, and then continued in Old French. The work is famous for vibrant and informed description of the reign of King John, in particular the period of baronial reaction, Magna Carta, ensuing civil war and the nearly-successful invasion of England by Louis, heir to the kingdom of France. Flanders supplied troops to both sides, and this Flemish author sees these events in close detail, and from the Flemish, not the French or English, point of view. He may himself have been an eyewitness, directly involved, but if not he would have known many who had fought and died in this conflict. Janet Shirley’s translation of this chronicle, the first into English, brings the work of the Anonymous of Béthune to a new audience in this volume, accompanied by an introduction and historical notes by Paul Webster.

The Duke's Guard: The men in black who have sworn an oath to the Duke of Wyndmere to protect the duke and his family from enemies that would stop at nothing to discredit and destroy him! Harriet Mayfield does not like being told what to do! She's been keeping their tenant farm afloat with the help of her 14-year-old son, the image of his dead father, her strength, and her wits. The last thing she needs is a too-handsome-for-his-own-good member of The Duke's Guard to ride to the rescue when a group of men arrive in the middle of the night to trample their crops and set fire to their barn! With a hand to her side, she admits that he did arrive in time to prevent that behemoth from crushing her. What are a few broken ribs when they could have lost their farm? Maybe she could ask O'Malley to let her borrow his cousin's .50 Kentucky long rifle. Michael O'Malley is drawn to the feisty widow from the first. It may have started with her sunset hair and mist-laden eyes, but any Irishman worth his salt appreciates the strength of a woman who is not afraid to keep going even after the loss of her husband. Harry is the first woman he's met since setting foot on English soil who calls to his heart while she's butting heads with him. When an enemy of Viscount Chattsworth threatens to ruin him, it is up to the Duke of Wyndmere's guard stationed at Chattsworth Manor to protect the viscount and everything he holds dear. Danger stalks in the night, but it will have to penetrate The Duke's Shield before he will let them harm those he has sworn to protect with his strength, his heart, and his honor. The Age Of Reformation written by Alec Ryrie and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-01-12 with History categories.

The Age of Reformation charts how religion, politics and social change were always intimately interlinked in the sixteenth century, from the murderous politics of the Tudor court to the building and fragmentation of new religious and social identities in the parishes. In this book, Alec Ryrie provides an authoritative overview of the religious and political reformations of the sixteenth century. This turbulent century saw Protestantism come to England, Scotland and even Ireland, while the Tudor and Stewart monarchs made their authority felt within and beyond their kingdoms more than any of their predecessors. This book demonstrates how this age of reformations produced not only a new religion, but a new politics – absolutist, yet pluralist, populist yet bound by law. This new edition has been fully revised and updated and includes expanded sections on Lollardy and anticlericalism, on Henry VIII’s early religious views, on several of the rebellions which convulsed Tudor England and on unofficial religion, ranging from Elizabethan Catholicism to incipient atheism. Drawing on the most recent research, Alec Ryrie explains why these events took the course they did – and why that course was so often an unexpected and unlikely one. It is essential reading for students of early modern British history and the history of the reformation.
