Description: The Epistle of Jesus to the Church is a commentary on the book of Revelation that assumes Jesus was the author and John the reporter of the words and events described. Here one will not find an explanation of an anti-Roman message written by John in hidden codes and apocalyptic motifs to fool Roman authorities. John the apostle and prophet was the faithful scribe, who did not create the message but faithfully and accurately described all that he saw and heard. This commentary follows the principle that the Scriptures explain themselves, because the Revelation is a word from Jesus to his church--a word that is grounded in the Scriptures. The Epistle of Jesus to the Church has been written with teachers, students, and pastors in mind. The interpretation of the book of Revelation is thorough; difficult passages are addressed, and plausible answers are provided to the questions posed by in-depth study of the biblical book. This is a commentary for personal study or classroom instruction, one that may be confidently used to preach and teach the Revelation of Jesus to the church. About the Contributor(s): James D. Quiggle was saved May 19, 1974, at a small Baptist church in Indian Springs, Nevada. A career in the U.S. Air Force gave him broad experience teaching the Scriptures in many churches and in several denominations in the United States and Germany. Quiggle currently resides and worships in Reno, Nevada where he is a professor at the Meadows Bible Institute. He holds a ThB and an MA in religion from Bethany Divinity College and Seminary. He has written thirteen commentaries on Old and New Testament books, commentaries privately printed for use in his local church. The Epistle of Jesus to the Church is his first published book.

What is a Love Letter? Merriam Webster’s online dictionary defines love as an unselfish, loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another: as (1): the fatherly concern of God for humankind (2): brotherly concern for others b: a person’s adoration of God. Love Letters; Paul’s Epistles and Ministry to the Early Church is the epitome of this type of love. For Paul’s letters to the early church illuminated his love for God manifested in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as well as his true affection for the Jews and Gentiles who were establishing the early Bodies of Christ—the church. This book chronicles the Apostle Paul’s missionary journeys through the Roman Empire teaching and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to both Jewish Christians and Gentiles. The epistles, letters, written to the early churches served several purposes. They contained heartfelt greetings, praise, thanksgiving, words of encouragement, and when necessary, chastisements. But more importantly, the Love Letters conveyed the unconditional love of Jesus Christ for the believer. The epistles to the early churches also helped to form doctrine, church order, conduct and traditions plus accepted leadership qualities along with responsibilities. The tone of the letters was infused with Paul’s genuine benevolent concern for and loyalty to the early Christians establishing churches in a hostile environment. Love Letters; Paul’s Epistles and Ministry to the Early Church while serving as an examination of the early church and its formation, it also can be a template for the church today as it meets the challenges of the contemporary world.

The Apostle Peter was crucified around A.D. 67-68 - some two or three years before the A.D. 70 holocaust in Jerusalem. That disaster was only a type of the coming Great Tribulation, about to explode on the world scene today. Peter knew that he was going to be crucified shortly after his epistles were written. Paul had been killed about a year or two before Peter's death. Other apostles had also been killed. There was a storm of persecution. As Peter wrote his book they were entering into the darkest of times. Still, it was only a type of the worst time of suffering ever on Earth, which is descending upon us today. In spite of all this bad news, Peter had a message filled with hope. He wanted God's people to be in an attitude of hope so they could continue to grow spiritually. The last verse of Peter's epistles (2 Peter 3:18) emphasized that crucial issue. We have no future if we aren't growing spiritually. In this booklet: • "A Living Hope" • A Vision of God's Majesty • Peter's Warning This ebook is offered completely free of charge by the Philadelphia Church of God. However, please not that Google Play will need a verified Google Wallet account which requires your credit card information. In a small number of countries, a temporary authorization of $1 will be charged to your account but will be refunded. This refund can take up to 1 month to process.
