It is truly amazing how the operations of the human heart are so closely related to spiritual function and power in our lives. There are three main arteries that supply the heart itself with life-giving oxygen and nutrients. If either of these arteries is clogged or blocked in any way, it will not allow the heart to function to its fullest capacity. It may even cause death. In the spirit realm, we have the Love of God that is displayed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirt. We need the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit working corporately to operate to our fullest capacity in the kingdom of God. A lack of a right understanding (clogged) or just complete ignorance (blocked) of the function of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirt will not allow you to operate to your fullest capacity in the kingdom of God. Not realizing how powerful God's love is and not understanding the roles of each person will limit all things that are possible to those who believe. Without God, we are spiritually dead! Learn the rhythm of life and live life to the fullest. Matthew 1:28-30 (emphasis mine) said, "Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me--watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

Throughout his life, author Yvon Milien has faced delays, denials, frustrations, isolation, failure, betrayals, affronts from friends, and the premature loss of loved ones many times. His experiences were a mix of the sad and the tragic, and he needed to develop values to survive and support himself. In The Rhythm of My Life, he narrates his story. Inspirational in substance, this memoir offers a perspective of how to deal with the challenges, how to tune into the rhythm of fires the wind of destiny blows into life. Milien tells how providence, the government of God, made him aware that the only way to overcome the negative was to develop his inner strength. Milien documents his sour, spicy life to share with others the methodology he used to deal with his dilemmas. Providence persuaded him to see that sharing his story was a vehicle to inspire others and help them make their lives an adventure rather than a sentence.

Habits of the Heart is a moral adventure based on a real family's saga. A story within a story, it opens in the chaotic days of 1967 when Jim, a sophomore in college confused by the times, finds a respite from the storm at an Easter family gathering, and so much more. As he listens to his ninety-six-year-old great grandmother share stories from when she was young, he enters a world he never knew, one so captivating that he asks his grandfather to tell him more. Thereupon he discovers more than he could have imagined--an extraordinary story of the life an ordinary man of essential servitude forged on the unyielding anvil of life. Struck by what he hears, Jim realizes how important these stories are in the noise and chaos of 1967--perhaps even more so now--yet how easily they are lost. Habits is a lived picture of the "habits of the heart" Alexis de Tocqueville saw when he came to America. Through his grandfather's story Jim discovers how good habits are formed and passed from generation to generation and woven into the fabric of life, and how important they are in life's perilous storms.

Rhythm Is Our Business written by Eddy Determeyer and has been published by University of Michigan Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-03-10 with Music categories.

In the 1930s, swing music reigned, and the Jimmie Lunceford Orchestra was the hottest and hippest attraction on the black dance circuits. Known for its impeccable appearance and infectious rhythms, Lunceford's group was able to out-swing and outdraw any band. For ten consecutive years, they were the best-loved attraction at Harlem's famed Apollo Theater. The group's hit recordings sold in the hundreds of thousands, and Jimmie Lunceford's band rivaled Ellington's for popularity in the African American community. Jimmie Lunceford was also an innovator, elevating big-band showmanship to an art and introducing such novel instruments as the electric guitar and bass. The band's arrangements, written by Sy Oliver, Edwin Wilcox, Gerald Wilson, Billy Moore, Jr., and Tadd Dameron, were daring and forward looking, influencing generations of big-band writers. Rhythm Is Our Business traces the development of the Jimmie Lunceford Orchestra from its infant days as a high school band in Memphis to its record-breaking tours across the United States, Canada, and Europe. The book also unveils Lunceford's romantic yet ill-fated involvement with Yolande Du Bois, daughter of famous writer and opinion leader W.E.B. Du Bois. And by reconstructing Lunceford's last day, the book offers a glimpse into the mysteries surrounding the leader's untimely death. This is essential reading for anyone interested in the history and legacy of swing. Eddy Determeyer has been a freelance music journalist for more than three decades. In 1984 Determeyer wrote a seven-part series on Jimmie Lunceford for the Dutch magazine Jazz Nu. Determeyer has written thousands of articles on music for a variety of Dutch publications and is the author of several books. He currently produces the Holiday for Hipsters radio show for Dutch station Concertzender. Cover image: Lunceford brass section, ca. late 1936.
