Signs suggest he's been taken to the city of Atlantis, and so Corydon and his fellow monsters set sail to rescue their friend. Their travels across Poseidon's treacherous waters involve one narrow escape after another—from the volcanic forge of Hephaistos, and the seductive song of the Sirens, from the licentious lair of Dionysos, and the grasping tentacles of the Kraken—until at last they reach Atlantis. And Atlantis turns out to be more seductive, monstrous, and volatile than anything they've encountered yet.

Supported by convincing geological, archeological and astronomical arguments, this remarkable study advanced a strikingly original idea for its time — that a celestial object's devastating collision with the Earth's surface thousands of years ago resulted in massive gravel layers, the destruction of an advanced civilization (Atlantis), and years of cloud cover and extreme cold.

In a time before history, when the Great Ice still held the world in its frozen grip, the Sea Kings of Atlantis ruled the world for a thousand years. Their longships plied the waters of the Nine Seas, and extracted tribute from every land on their shores. But that storied reign may be about to end. Herata, the newly chosen Sea Priestess of Atlantis, comes to believe that the Earth itself may be in danger from the insatiable greed of Atlantis, which draws the power to fuel its mighty empire from the blood of the very Earth. At risk of her own life, Herata investigates and learns that the danger is real. Against a backdrop of accelerating events, Herata struggles against greed, indifference, and malevolent power to awaken the Empire of Atlantis to its danger, before it becomes too late. She is helped -- or hindered? -- by a friend she makes in the glittering court of the Sea Kings, Prince Branek of the island colony of Lacaon. He swears his loyalty -- but does he really support her cause? When Herata finds out, she must act on that knowledge, and quickly. But will she be too late?

Could the lost civilization of Atlantis provide the answer to the origins of human existence? In his controversial new study, John Gordon examines the evidence and makes some startling discoveries. Though many have dismissed Plato’s account of the vanished continent and its people as fantasy, Gordon argues that not only is the story true, but it’s a brilliant and complex metaphor for cosmic creation. Gordon’s research leads him to oppose modern scientific orthodoxy on a range of accepted ideas from the "Big Bang" theory to Darwinian evolution. He questions the concept that humans emerged relatively recently; the notion that dinosaurs became extinct due to an asteroid impact; and the belief that present-day global warming has a human cause. It’s an eye-opening look at our world.

EXTENDED DETAILS: Kyrie Day is a member of an archaeology team from Harvard University. When a small area of land emerges out of the water in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, it becomes a location of interest to the Department of Defense. Two agents from the DOD set out to offer a contract to the Head of Archaeology at Harvard, Professor Elliot Chaddick. Upon reviewing the contract they learn that they would be issued temporary TOP SECRET Special Access Project security clearances for the duration of the operation. Curious as to why the location is of such interest or would require such high secrecy, they end up accepting the contract allowing Professor Chaddick, Kyrie, and 3 other members to venture to the island and be housed on a US Navy expeditionary mobile base to perform an excavation. They and several other groups of specialists in a variety of fields would work together on the island to gather data to report. When they arrive they find the island has some strange characteristics as it caused all of the ships systems to go down when they reached the vicinity. When they get to the island, they discover a strange crystalline circle structure made from a variety of meticulously placed crystals into very precise measurements that causes strange anomalies to occur that different groups discover. When Kyrie hears a private radio transmission that one of the DOD agents has, she then learns exactly why the island is of such interest, as it has a sunken underwater city directly under the island. Things start to get weird when the leading DOD agent begins to become erratic. Gradually they find themselves being restricted more and having their communication devices taken away. When they discover something buried in the sand that seems to be a form of technology. When it activates it begins to glow and Kyrie awakes in a strange place surrounded by very large thriving trees she had never seen before, She knows she is no longer on the remote island where she had been just moments ago. While she is resting in a clearing of the forest, she finds herself in an encounter with a large beast that would soon be her demise. Before the creature could act, she was rescued by a strange woman who jumped in to stop the creature. The woman decides to assist Kyrie in her search for answers and helps guide her through the different regions of the Kingdom of Atlantis, as it existed in a time far in the past.
