Micro And Nanoscale Fluid Mechanics written by Brian J. Kirby and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-07-26 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This text focuses on the physics of fluid transport in micro- and nanofabricated liquid-phase systems, with consideration of gas bubbles, solid particles, and macromolecules. This text was designed with the goal of bringing together several areas that are often taught separately - namely, fluid mechanics, electrodynamics, and interfacial chemistry and electrochemistry - with a focused goal of preparing the modern microfluidics researcher to analyse and model continuum fluid mechanical systems encountered when working with micro- and nanofabricated devices. This text serves as a useful reference for practising researchers but is designed primarily for classroom instruction. Worked sample problems are included throughout to assist the student, and exercises at the end of each chapter help facilitate class learning.

Melville Unfolding written by John Bryant and has been published by University of Michigan Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008 with categories.

Typee: A Peep at Polynesian Life was published in 1846 and was Melville's most popular work, offering Victorian readers startling and romantic glimpses of island people and practices. The Typee manuscript was discovered only in 1983, and is considered one of the most important literary manuscripts in nineteenth-century American studies. Melville Unfolding offers a new approach to literary analysis, focusing on how the "invisible text of revision" is made visible in the critical construction of the novel. This volume is linked to an electronic edition of Typee, providing a model for how critical analysis and textual editing work synergistically and how print and online technologies can complement one another. Melville Unfolding walks readers through the intriguing twists and turns of Melville's writing process, detailing the delights and frustrations of reading a writer in manuscript. In jargon-free prose, John Bryant introduces the scholarship of manuscript study, the use of the revision narrative, and the benefits of the fluid-text analysis---asking readers to consider what a text is, how it comes into being, how it evolves, and how the study of a fluid text enhances our understanding of writers, writing, and culture. John Bryant is Professor of English at Hofstra University and Editor of the Melville Society. His books include The Fluid Text: A Theory of Revision and Editing for Book and Screen and the Modern Library editions of Melville's Tales, Poems, and Other Writings and The Confidence-Man.

Fluid Power Circuits And Controls written by John S. Cundiff and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-12-05 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Fluid Power Circuits and Controls: Fundamentals and Applications, Second Edition, is designed for a first course in fluid power for undergraduate engineering students. After an introduction to the design and function of components, students apply what they’ve learned and consider how the component operating characteristics interact with the rest of the circuit. The Second Edition offers many new worked examples and additional exercises and problems in each chapter. Half of these new problems involve the basic analysis of specific elements, and the rest are design-oriented, emphasizing the analysis of system performance. The envisioned course does not require a controls course as a prerequisite; however, it does lay a foundation for understanding the extraordinary productivity and accuracy that can be achieved when control engineers and fluid power engineers work as a team on a fluid power design problem. A complete solutions manual is available for qualified adopting instructors.

Modern Fluid Dynamics written by Clement Kleinstreuer and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-05-21 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This textbook covers essentials of traditional and modern fluid dynamics, i. e. , the fundamentals of and basic applications in fluid mechanics and convection heat transfer with brief excursions into fluid-particle dynamics and solid mechanics. Specifically, it is suggested that the book can be used to enhance the knowledge base and skill level of engineering and physics students in macro-scale fluid mechanics (see Chaps. 1–5 and 10), followed by an int- ductory excursion into micro-scale fluid dynamics (see Chaps. 6 to 9). These ten chapters are rather self-contained, i. e. , most of the material of Chaps. 1–10 (or selectively just certain chapters) could be taught in one course, based on the students’ background. Typically, serious seniors and first-year graduate students form a receptive audience (see sample syllabus). Such as target group of students would have had prerequisites in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and solid mechanics, where Part A would be a welcomed refresher. While introductory fluid mechanics books present the material in progressive order, i. e. , employing an inductive approach from the simple to the more difficult, the present text adopts more of a deductive approach. Indeed, understanding the derivation of the basic equations and then formulating the system-specific equations with suitable boundary conditions are two key steps for proper problem solutions.

Globalization And Literature written by Suman Gupta and has been published by Polity this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009 with Language Arts & Disciplines categories.

This book presents a state-of-the-art overview of the relationship between globalization studies and literature and literary studies, and the bearing that they have on each other. It engages with the manner in which globalization is thematized in literary works; examines the relationship between globalization theory and literary theory; and discusses the impact of globalization processes on the production and reception of literary texts. Suman Gupta argues that while literature has registered globalization processes in relevant ways, there has been a missed articulation between globalization studies and literary studies. Some of the ways in which this slippage is now being addressed, and may be taken forward, are indicated. In the course of fleshing out this argument such themes as the following are discussed: the manner in which anti-globalization protests and world cities have figured in literary works, digitization has remoulded concepts of texts and text editing, theories of postmodernism and postcolonialism that are familiar in literary studies have diverged from and converged with globalization studies, English and Comparative/World Literature as institutional disciplinary spaces are being reconfigured, and industries to do with the circulation of literature are becoming globalized. This book is intended for university level students and teachers, researchers, and other informed readers with an interest in the above issues, and serves both as a survey of the field and an intervention within it.

Text Editing Print And The Digital World written by Professor Kathryn Sutherland and has been published by Ashgate Publishing, Ltd. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-10-01 with Language Arts & Disciplines categories.

Traditional critical editing, defined by the paper and print limitations of the book, is now considered by many to be inadequate for the expression and interpretation of complex works of literature. At the same time, digital developments are permitting us to extend the range of text objects we can reproduce and investigate critically - not just books, but newspapers, draft manuscripts and inscriptions on stone. Some exponents of the benefits of new information technologies argue that in future all editions should be produced in digital or online form. By contrast, others point to the fact that print, after more than five hundred years of development, continues to set the agenda for how we think about text, even in its non-print forms. This important book brings together leading textual critics, scholarly editors, technical specialists and publishers to discuss whether and how existing paradigms for developing and using critical editions are changing to reflect the increased commitment to and assumed significance of digital tools and methodologies.
