In an age which has seen an almost total collapse of marriage and when, in many cases, marriages end in divorce with children being raised in 'broken homes', Dr. Lloyd-Jones" words speak powerfully into our present situation. It is a situation which may be seen as giving Christians, and especially Christian marriages, a valuable opportunity to bear witness to biblical truth. The way in which Dr. Lloyd-Jones, like the Apostle Paul, deals with marriage relationship, is extremely important - to attempt to deal with Christian practice apart from Christian doctrine is to tread a dangerous path. As these chapters on Ephesians make clear, the only Christianity powerful enough to penetrate and change society is that which is derived from the work of the Spirit of God.

The author points out what a couple may expect after the kiss, the reception, and the honeymoon, and how to deal Christianly with problems that inevitably develop because of the new intimate relationship. He explains why a couple, after a few months of married life, may be puzzled and ask themselves, "Is this the same person I knew in courtship?" He then offers solutions that are guaranteed to work because their source is the Bible. Already married? You May Now Kiss the Bride also makes clear what to do to recapture the joy of married life and turn an unhappy marriage around. A damaged marriage heading for divorce can be repaired! The author explains how. Jesus said divorce is unnecessary, and You May Now Kiss the Bride explains why Jesus spoke "the exception clause" and what He meant by it. The book also presents simple diagrams illustrating authority and submission, why males and females handle problem-solving differently, and how the definition of love differs when female, male, or God uses the word. You May Now Kiss the Bride is ideal for both pre-marital and post-wedding counseling. Any person desiring stronger personal relationships with others can also profit from this book. The biblical principles set forth and the techniques to implement them are simple but effective.

At first look, it seems logical Christian maturity and preparation for eternity would go hand in hand with marriage. But when one delves deeper and takes a look at statistics, it does not always work that way. Maturation through Marriage: And the Enticement of Divorce takes an honest look at author Lowell Luecks theological and spiritual reflection on the texture and contours of the fabric of his married life. It does not shy away from honestly portraying his sins but balances those statements of shortcoming with equally powerful reminders of the consolation and guidance from the Scriptures. Lueck found faulty applications or fundamental violations of Biblical principles by Christian spouses and the Christian church have allowed the tragic destruction of families. Lack of adaptation to no-fault divorce statutes; frustration of trying to apply biblical principles to our twenty-first-century Western worldview of love, dating, and marriage; and the unwillingness of the church to uphold Godly encouragement and accountability are some of the issues Lueck addresses. As a Christian marriage and family therapist with two failed marriages, he writes from an insiders perspective and with a willingness to share his shame of these experiences and also his deliverance from the false guilt that he had carried. Written in an easy-to-understand manner, Maturation through Marriage: And the Enticement of Divorce is not just theory. Based upon the authors firsthand experience, this book can help you deal with the same or similar issues.

The Principles of Christian Marriage was written to help Christians navigate marital relationships by following the principles laid out by God from when the man starts seeking a wife to when he is married, to God's plan regarding divorce. God instituted marriage, and he alone can set out how it should be conducted. Most people, including Christians, don't realize the enormity and sacredness of the marital life and that marriage is a covenant relationship (Malachi 2:14 KJV). One thing established in this book is that marriage is a physical representation of the spiritual relationship a Christian has with Jesus Christ (Ephesians 5:32 KJV), and because of this ignorance, Satan has corrupted the sanctity of marriage with the worldly view and concept. This book also shares briefly that the purpose of marriage is first for companionship before procreation or fruitfulness. That's why a Christian should first have a personal relationship with God before he can be fruitful in the things pertaining to God. Finding a wife is conceived and birthed in the place of prayer, as we see in Abraham's servant and God making a deep sleep come upon Adam. The husband's authority in marriage is a representative responsibility, and this places the fruitfulness of the marriage on the man. He is the responsible authority in the marriage; that's why when Adam disobeyed God in the garden of Eden and shifted the responsibility to his wife, Eve, God told Adam, "Because thou hast you hearkened unto the voice of thy wife" (Genesis 3:17 KJV). Man has since been abdicating the authority God placed on him in the home to the woman. One will also see that God did not establish nor approve divorce, so Christians ought not to divorce (1 Corinthians 7).

How To Ensure That Your Christian Marriage Is Built Upon God's Word Within this book, I used the analogy of marriage as a dance, with God as the Master Choreographer. God is the original creator and inventor of marriage so He is the one who knows and teaches His children the intricate steps of the magnificent marriage dance. Each chapter of the book covers a particular aspect of married life, explaining what the Bible has to say about that aspect and how it can be applied within marriages today. The topics start off with the basic step of having a relationship with God. This is the strong foundation on which everything else is built. From there it goes on to incorporating prayer and Bible reading into your marriage. When you make a regular habit of reading God's word and joining hands together in prayer, you will find that your spiritual intimacy will grow. We then discuss finding the rhythm of effective communication and learning to resolve conflicts. The all important topic of how to handle finances is also tackled, along with a section on intimacy and romance. Being that a marriage between two people who love God and love each other is the ideal setting in which to raise a healthy family, the topic of children could not be overlooked. Household duties and chores, and the challenges of balancing marriage and a career are also topics within this book. And lastly, we cover the joy of blessing others as every Christian is blessed in order to be a blessing to others. At the end of each chapter there are a few questions for reflection which will help you to process and digest the points that have been discussed. Throughout the book, numerous Bible verses are quoted or referred to and you are encouraged to have your Bible at hand to look up the relevant passages and discover God's truth for themselves. Every married couple wants to be happy. As they exchange their vows on their wedding day, their minds and hearts are filled with thoughts, dreams and expectations of a happily-ever-after future. This is good and right, but what few anticipate is that it will require a large amount of perseverance and determination on the part of each spouse. A happy marriage is not going to happen automatically or easily. Right priorities need to be carefully set and meticulously maintained. And both spouses will need to be fully committed. After all, it takes two to tango, and in the context of a Christian marriage it is a dance for three, as Jesus stretches out His arms, inviting each spouse to take His hand and learn the joyful, ordered steps of the magnificent marriage dance.

Marriage By The Book written by Marvin L. Bagent and has been published by WestBow Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-09-15 with Religion categories.

Marriage by the Book defines marriage as God defines it. A proper understanding of God’s pattern for marriage is paramount to a successful marriage. Marriage is not defined as a contract or a commitment in the Bible, but it is a covenant. This covenant is an agreement to spend life together. It is sealed by God’s approval. Roles are played by the husband and the wife in God’s plan for marriage. The book explains these roles. Success is the result of playing these roles in marriage. The book covers three danger zones in marriage. If the marriage is to succeed, these danger zones must be managed correctly. These danger zones are communication, money, and sex. The Bible says, “God hates divorce.” However, he loves the divorcees. The book addresses divorce and remarriage according to what God says about it in the scripture. Finally, Marriage by the Book addresses how to find a mate. It lists seven deal breakers and seven game changers that will help young single Christian people as they search for a mate.
