Determinantal Ideals Of Square Linear Matrices written by Zaqueu Ramos and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-06-03 with Mathematics categories.
This book explores determinantal ideals of square matrices from the perspective of commutative algebra, with a particular emphasis on linear matrices. Its content has been extensively tested in several lectures given on various occasions, typically to audiences composed of commutative algebraists, algebraic geometers, and singularity theorists. Traditionally, texts on this topic showcase determinantal rings as the main actors, emphasizing their properties as algebras. This book follows a different path, exploring the role of the ideal theory of minors in various situations—highlighting the use of Fitting ideals, for example. Topics include an introduction to the subject, explaining matrices and their ideals of minors, as well as classical and recent bounds for codimension. This is followed by examples of algebraic varieties defined by such ideals. The book also explores properties of matrices that impact their ideals of minors, such as the 1-generic property, explicitly presenting a criterion by Eisenbud. Additionally, the authors address the problem of the degeneration of generic matrices and their ideals of minors, along with applications to the dual varieties of some of the ideals. Primarily intended for graduate students and scholars in the areas of commutative algebra, algebraic geometry, and singularity theory, the book can also be used in advanced seminars and as a source of aid. It is suitable for beginner graduate students who have completed a first course in commutative algebra.

Conformal Differential Geometry And Its Generalizations written by Maks A. Akivis and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1996-09-06 with Mathematics categories.
Comprehensive coverage of the foundations, applications, recent developments, and future of conformal differential geometry Conformal Differential Geometry and Its Generalizations is the first and only text that systematically presents the foundations and manifestations of conformal differential geometry. It offers the first unified presentation of the subject, which was established more than a century ago. The text is divided into seven chapters, each containing figures, formulas, and historical and bibliographical notes, while numerous examples elucidate the necessary theory. Clear, focused, and expertly synthesized, Conformal Differential Geometry and Its Generalizations * Develops the theory of hypersurfaces and submanifolds of any dimension of conformal and pseudoconformal spaces. * Investigates conformal and pseudoconformal structures on a manifold of arbitrary dimension, derives their structure equations, and explores their tensor of conformal curvature. * Analyzes the real theory of four-dimensional conformal structures of all possible signatures. * Considers the analytic and differential geometry of Grassmann and almost Grassmann structures. * Draws connections between almost Grassmann structures and web theory. Conformal differential geometry, a part of classical differential geometry, was founded at the turn of the century and gave rise to the study of conformal and almost Grassmann structures in later years. Until now, no book has offered a systematic presentation of the multidimensional conformal differential geometry and the conformal and almost Grassmann structures. After years of intense research at their respective universities and at the Soviet School of Differential Geometry, Maks A. Akivis and Vladislav V. Goldberg have written this well-conceived, expertly executed volume to fill a void in the literature. Dr. Akivis and Dr. Goldberg supply a deep foundation, applications, numerous examples, and recent developments in the field. Many of the findings that fill these pages are published here for the first time, and previously published results are reexamined in a unified context. The geometry and theory of conformal and pseudoconformal spaces of arbitrary dimension, as well as the theory of Grassmann and almost Grassmann structures, are discussed and analyzed in detail. The topics covered not only advance the subject itself, but pose important questions for future investigations. This exhaustive, groundbreaking text combines the classical results and recent developments and findings. This volume is intended for graduate students and researchers of differential geometry. It can be especially useful to those students and researchers who are interested in conformal and Grassmann differential geometry and their applications to theoretical physics.

Determinantal Rings written by Winfried Bruns and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-11-14 with Mathematics categories.
Determinantal rings and varieties have been a central topic of commutative algebra and algebraic geometry. Their study has attracted many prominent researchers and has motivated the creation of theories which may now be considered part of general commutative ring theory. The book gives a first coherent treatment of the structure of determinantal rings. The main approach is via the theory of algebras with straightening law. This approach suggest (and is simplified by) the simultaneous treatment of the Schubert subvarieties of Grassmannian. Other methods have not been neglected, however. Principal radical systems are discussed in detail, and one section is devoted to each of invariant and representation theory. While the book is primarily a research monograph, it serves also as a reference source and the reader requires only the basics of commutative algebra together with some supplementary material found in the appendix. The text may be useful for seminars following a course in commutative ring theory since a vast number of notions, results, and techniques can be illustrated significantly by applying them to determinantal rings.

Recent Advances In Real Complexity And Computation written by Luis M. Pardo and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-11-12 with Computers categories.
This volume is composed of six contributions derived from the lectures given during the UIMP-RSME Lluis Santalo Summer School on ``Recent Advances in Real Complexity and Computation'', held July 16-20, 2012, in Santander, Spain. The goal of this Summer School was to present some of the recent advances on Smale's 17th Problem: ``Can a zero of $n$ complex polynomial equations in $n$ unknowns be found approximately, on the average, in polynomial time with a uniform algorithm?'' These papers cover several aspects of this problem: from numerical to symbolic methods in polynomial equation solving, computational complexity aspects (both worse and average cases and both upper and lower complexity bounds) as well as aspects of the underlying geometry of the problem. Some of the contributions also deal with either real or multiple solutions solving.
