The ability to cry is a uniquely human trait. Our tears are a temporary release of pain or hurt, an expression of joy or sorrow, or a method of coping with stress. Crying allows us to say things like, "help me" or "I'm very happy". Tears communicate the feelings our words can't convey. They move us forward, releasing us from the chains that bind us to the past! Crying gives us a definitive way to extend forgiveness, learn the lessons our experiences are meant to teach us and identify a path to move on toward our future with hope and optimism. Each of the women in this book has cried her share of tears. Every woman has also learned to channel those tears into their own personal healing and success. My prayer is that as you read each chapter you hear the voices of each woman. You should feel like you are sipping coffee with your best friend, sharing secrets at a sleepover or being comforted by someone who understands what you are going through and can talk you through the healing process. Most of all, I want you, the reader, to know that you are not alone. Cry when you need to, forgive all, including yourself, learn the lessons of your past and move on knowing that you can be healed, healthy and whole.

Growing up, Laura never knew her father or even his last name. Many years later, an encounter with a stranger would drastically impact her life and cause her to question her own identity. Then through a spiraling chain of terrifying events, she learns there’s an unknown enemy who appears to stop at nothing to do her harm. Meanwhile, she carries a painful burden of a dark haunting secret, hidden unforgiveness, and low self-esteem. Her story begins and ends with reflections on lessons she learned from her dear mama (her maternal grandmother) who reared her from birth. Embracing these lessons of faith, hope, love, and forgiveness would often be challenged as she journeyed from victim to victory toward freedom. Even though her thoughts often turn to Mama’s faith and these lessons, she finally declares, “Enough is enough,” and uses her own measure of faith to survive in a life so filled with ups and downs, twists and turns. At every juncture, one thing remains constant—the ever-loving presence of God. If the stranger’s information was based on facts, Laura knew her mind would soon find its way frantically going down a rabbit hole in search of “who am I?” Afterward, Laura catches her breath and helplessly stares at Tina and asks, “Will God still love someone like me, someone as awful as me? Will He ever forgive me for that awful, fateful night?”

Mary has a secret. A piece of her past is so painful and shameful that she has told only her parents. Now as a vibrant young woman from a Mennonite family, Mary’s secret stands in the way of her finding happiness. John, a missionary passionate for the Lord’s work, wants to make Mary his wife. How can Mary commit to him when he doesn’t know her true self? “Francis? Is that you?” With those four words over the phone, the life Francis—a single-mother of two—knew comes to a screeching halt. On the other end of the line is Mike, a man that Francis hasn’t seen or heard from in ten years. He is the father of her children, and he left her in the worst possible way. Now he wants to be in their life again. How can Francis ever move past what he did to them? As Mary, Francis, and their loved ones wrestle with unconscionable acts, their futures depend on the answer to one question: Can they find the grace to forgive? Although a sequel to Grace for Tomorrow, this book stands on its own as a story about the human condition and how Divine inspiration can change everything.

Description: I turned my face to the other side, struggling to breathe since it almost felt like I was being smothered. I was terrified and screaming inside, calling out for my mother to come and save me. My screams melted into the night unheard by the one person who was supposed to be there for me always. I was a child, ignored by my own mother to the extent that she never heard my cry for help. Not then, not ever. As a kid, all I wanted was to have a perfect little family with my mom and sister. I wanted my mom to understand the fact that we needed her and that she shouldn't impose her choices upon us. I wanted my mom to pay attention to us like any child would and I wanted her to do this because it was the right thing to do and for her to know that it was the right thing to do. I just wanted unconditional love, care, and attention. As a child, was that too much to ask for?Sometimes mothers need to understand that their children are part of them and in this, they must include their children in those decisions that have an impact on the entire family. When mothers and fathers create children, they create a family. This means that they are now totally responsible for this family unit. We call it that because it is the total of all the members in the family functioning as one body; one love.I never understood the sex part; rather, I just knew that he was hurting them. I used to see the other kids crying in pain and anger and I just couldn't stand and watch them so I tried to tell my mom. She went out of her way not to listen to me! She would go into her room and lock the door leaving me standing outside shouting and asking her to please listen to what I wanted to tell her. Meanwhile, my stepdad would come out and yell at me and say, "leave your mother alone!" It just went on and on this way with my mother shutting me out and allowing my stepdad to punish us. I wanted so badly to make this all stop because I didn't want my siblings to get hurt. That day, I realized that I had been through so much in my childhood that I had reached a point at which I had a responsibility to use my life as a beacon for others who were needlessly suffering the same fate. I knew then that I must write this book and it must become available to the world of mothers and fathers, boys and girls everywhere.I know my story will help many people around the world who have continually been victims of those who think what happens behind closed doors is up to them. It is not! People young and old must be dealt with harshly when they violate the God-given rights of those around them; when they turn young girl's lives upside down, many of whom never recover, and when they shatter the emotions of infants who cannot fight back. These silent but cormorant criminals are walking among us as I write these words. We must use the law to show them that their way is wrong and that we as a society, will no longer accept their criminal behavior.I want to reflect on my readers to never give up on their life no matter what comes your way. The most important element you should learn from my experiences is that you must continually make distinctions. You must learn to make distinctions between virtue and vice. Learn to identify the bad people who are intermingled with the good ones. As yet, nobody has been able to change this. There are some very bad people out there so do not let the limits of your perceptions shroud one from the other. You need to teach your children about the good and bad people they will encounter each day. Teach them about the good and bad touch so that they know who is going to hurt them right away before it is too late. One hour of pedophile trauma equates to a life gone wrong, an entire life turned into a useless and wasted life.
