In ancient times the zodiac - astrology’s basic alphabet - conveyed a body of higher knowledge, hence it formed part of the sacred sciences, not only in India but in all the Mystery Schools of the ancient world... (Patrizia Norelli Bachelet, 2014) For millennia wisemen of all traditions have searched for a key of knowledge which would unlock the mysteries of the universe. The Alchemists called this universal key, ‘the Philosopher’s Stone’ and revealed that it was based upon the structure and harmonies of the Cosmos. This legendary ‘stone’ or Lapis Philosophorum was believed to be a magical object having the power to change base metals into gold, but, in a deeper sense, it symbolized the final goal of the initiation process which was the attainment of the highest wisdom. Possession of the ‘Philosopher’s Stone’ was the coveted condition resulting from the realization of ‘Gnosis’, an enlightened state in which one knows with a certainty that one knows and sees with an understanding which can be infinitely extended to all situations. Over the centuries, the system of knowledge which emerged from the alchemical tradition represented the pinnacle of enlightened thought. It was based upon the known universe which then consisted of six planets and the central Sun. But it was not until the 20th century, following the discovery of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, that the complete key of knowledge could be revealed and man’s integral transformation fully understood. The Gnostic Circle is that key and contains the highest wisdom of our age.

‘’What exactly has been lost of the Sacred Vision in what was constructed in Auroville? The 24-metre diameter does not exist; the 15.20m measure of the Ray does not exist; the 15-step entry from below into the floor of the chamber facing north does not exist; Sri Aurobindo’s symbol in the Shalagrama does not ‘exist’; the translucent Globe does not exist; the stone Pedestal does not exist. Is there anything then of gnostic significance and value in the structure? And even if only one or two items of the Vision have survived – such as the 12 columns – the fundamental feature proper to all great sacred art is absent: its unity. In these matters it is all or nothing. Unfortunately, for disciples and devotees of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, they are left with nothing. But the Vision itself lives on; its Knowledge has been revealed and preserved. This is the focus of these Chronicles.’’ (Thea, excerpt from Chronicles of the Inner Chamber, no. 9)

As discussed in The Da Vinci Code... Long buried and suppressed, the Gnostic Gospels contain the secret writings attributed to the followers of Jesus. In 1945 fifty-two papyrus texts, including gospels and other secret documents, were found concealed in an earthenware jar buried in the Egyptian desert. These so-called Gnostic writings were Coptic translations from the original Greek dating from the time of the New Testament. The material they embodied - poems, quasi-philosophical descriptions of the origins of the universe, myths, magic and instructions for mystic practice - were later declared heretical, as they offered a powerful alternative to the Orthodox Christian tradition. In a book that is as exciting as it is scholarly, Elaine Pagels examines these texts and the questions they pose and shows why Gnosticism was eventually stamped out by the increasingly organised and institutionalised Orthodox Church.

In this highly original work, Elaine Pagels demonstrates how evidence from gnostic sources may challenge the assumption that Paul writes his letters to combat "gnostic opponents" and to repudiate their claims to secret wisdom. Drawing upon evidence from the gnostic exegesis of Paul, including several Nag Hammadi texts, the author examines how gnostic exegetes cite and interpret key passages in the letters they consider Pauline-1 & 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Hebrews. Besides offering new insight into controversies over Paul in the second century, this analysis of gnostic exegesis suggests a new perspective for Pauline study, challenging students and scholars to recognize the presuppositions-hermenuetical and theological-involved in their own reading of Paul's letters. Elaine H. Pagels is the Harrington Spear Paine Professor of Religion at Princeton University. She is the author of The Gnostic Gospels, which won the National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award, The Johannie Gospel in Gnostic Exegesis, Adam, Eve, and the Serpent, and the best-selling Beyond Belief: The Secret Gospel of Thomas.

Astrology is older than any religion known today. It is more ancient than the most ancient scriptures. It will last long after these have past into oblivion, when religions, philosophies, metaphysical systems, the various spiritual disciplines will appear as myths, because it does not depend on man, though he be divinely inspired. Its scriptures are the movement of the planets. Its Truth lies in the workings of the Cosmos, in the harmonies of the Spheres, and as long as these exist, so long will astrology live.

It is 1985. Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet, cosmologist, author, and teacher, living in the Palani hills of South India, begins a correspondence with a new student residing in New York City. Some years prior, after 18 years as a Catholic nun, the student left the religious life. She went on to become a psychotherapist, and explored many of the ‘New Age’ spiritual teachings gaining popularity in the West. Patrizia asks the student why none of these pursuits has provided the answers she was seeking. Why has she turned to Patrizia for answers? These letters reveal an entirely New Way of approaching the desire for inner peace, the pursuit of Truth, as well as the limits of 'personal enlightenment'. Heeding her teacher’s advice that she make a big leap into the unknown, the new student begins her studies. She finds that our mental race is ‘in transition’ to a Supramental consciousness now descending to earth: a new species is being born. Her old spiritual path and psychotherapy cannot ‘fill the void’ because humankind is moving up the evolutionary ladder. It is Sri Aurobindo’s yoga that offers a way to transform human nature; Patrizia’s contribution to his new vision is The Gnostic Circle. This diagram displaces the old astrology by offering a cosmology to help the student get the correct balance. No longer will her individual development be the central focus, Patrizia informs (25 August letter); rather all three aspects of the Divine reality become synthesised in the spiritual quest: God, cosmos and her own soul. ‘Mind you, this has never been done before’, she exclaims, ‘it has always been one or the other.’

The Gnostic Gospel Of St Thomas written by Tau Malachi and has been published by Llewellyn Worldwide this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-11-08 with Religion categories.

Of all the "lost" gospels of the early Christian Bible, the Gospel of St. Thomas is the most well known. According to Tau Malachi, each verse of this Holy Scripture is like an "endless well of Wisdom." Drawing upon the Holy Kabbalah, contemporary Christian thought, and wisdom of the gnostic tradition, Malachi guides the reader into a true gnostic experience-a first-hand and completely unique exploration of the sacred secrets and spiritual insights in this important gnostic text. Both intuitive and interactive, the gnostic approach to faith is a sacred quest for greater knowledge, understanding, and wisdom—a deeper penetration of the Mystery. This path leads to a higher degree of the enlightenment experience, or gnosis. The Gnostic Gospel of St. Thomas reveals how the reader can use each verse in this scripture as a source of daily contemplation and spiritual growth, while exploring the secrets of resurrection and ascension, the true role of St. Mary Magdalene in the early church, and other mystical and magical teachings.
