The book explores the danger posed by Christian fundamentalism - a doctrine that is sweeping America. Leaders of the doctrine proclaim that God wants - even demands - that Planet Earth be destroyed in our generation. Adherents to this doctrine are said to constitute the fastest growing movement in Christianity today. Fundamentalist Evangelicals believe there will be catastrophic events on earth, some occurring already, including the turmoil in the Middle East, culminating in the Battle of Armageddon in which Christ will triumph and begin ruling the earth. At this point, they believe, non-believers will be destroyed, good Christians saved and any remaining Jews converted to Christianity. By praying for their Rapture and the End of Time, might they Force the Hand of God -- to bring it about? The book also includes CBS 60 Minutes program, Zion's Christian Soldiers and an interview with Jerry Falwell. Grace Halsell (1923-2000) served President Lyndon Johnson as his speech writer for three years. She covered both Korea and Vietnam as a journalist and wrote for newspapers in the U.S., South America, Europe, Russia, China, Japan and the Middle East. Legacy of Betrayal is both a prequel and a sequel to Ashes of Destruction and underlines the inevitability of the interaction between Destiny, Karma, the spirit world and living beings. The prequel answers questions posed by readers of Ashes of Destruction about the past relationship between the Mackenzies, the Logans, and the Zienkos. It provides the backdrop to the tragedies that followed decades later and reinforces how Destiny seems to guide those events. The unexpected interaction between Cassie Mackenzie and Chuck Logan in some ways mirrors the later relationship between Stacey Mackenzie and Ted Zienko, although the outcome was much different. The prequel also follows events in Zack and Cassie's lives after their return to Britain, which led to Zack's early demise. The fate of the Logans, including a look back at Chuck's early years, tie together the inevitable interaction that occurs when Jay discovers his Canadian roots. The sequel portion follows Stacey after she flees from Ted Zienko and his family, determined to make a better life for herself and her daughter Amy in London. Her experiences bring home to her how much her return home resembles the difficulties faced by Cassie five decades earlier. Stacey tries to put the past behind her but Destiny deems otherwise. Eventually, she meets Damon who reminds her of her late father-in-law, and they marry and life seems more settled. Then, sudden events after their marriage move the newlyweds back to North America as her anticipated peaceful future disintegrates once more, bringing awful repercussions for Amy. Stacey's initial return to America, increases her yearning to return to her friends in Canada, if only for a visit. It was destined to be a vain hope as for twenty years Damon continually finds excuses not to keep the promise he made to her the year before they married. Two decades later Stacey's world is overturned by news of Ted's death. Her shock at the grief it causes her is exacerbated when she senses Ted's ghostly presence in her house. At first putting it down to imagination she is force to recognize that her bond with Ted has never ended for him either and that he needs to help her understand the mysteries from their past. She starts to transcribe her feelings and Ted channels his thoughts through her writings, always guiding her towards answers. As the true nature of their history reveals itself, Stacey is overcome by the realization that one wrong decision, brought on by fear, might have changed outcomes. Stacey then becomes aware that Karma has been dealing with matters in her own way, bringing her own retribution. Once her book is published, Stacey makes the pilgrimage back to the Canadian town that she loved, and realizes how much her friends cared for her, and the huge mistake she made in fleeing. Upon her return home Stacey finds one final shock in store for her. Once again Ted has been nudging her into the place where he needs her to be and Stacey understands that Destiny has had a pattern for her life regardless of what she had thought her future held. Ted's final act is to bring Stacey, Jay, Sally and himself together for eternity.

He then offers students advice on developing a game plan to avoid the spiritual pitfalls. While the temptations and influences may still be there, students following these practical tips will find that a university of instruction does not have to become a university of destruction.

For Elena del Ro, extreme cinema is not only qualitatively different from the representations of violence we encounter in popular, mainstream cinema; it also constitutes a critique of the socio-moral system that produces (in every sense of the word) such violence. Drawing inspiration from Deleuze's ethics of immanence, Spinoza's ethology of passions and Nietzsche's typology of forces, The Grace of Destruction examines the affective extremities common in much of global, contemporary cinema from the affirmative perspective of vital forces and situations-extremities such as moral/religious oppression, biopolitical violence, the pain involved in gender relations, the event of death and planetary extinction. Her analysis diverges from the current literature on extreme cinema through its selection of films, which include key international examples, and through its foregrounding of relational, affective politics over representations of sexuality and graphic violence. Detailed formal and philosophical analyses of films like The White Ribbon, Dogville, Code Unknown, Battle in Heaven, Sonatine, Fireworks, Dolls, Takeshis', Inland Empire and Melancholia are meant to move us away from the moral appraisal of violence and destruction, and to compose an ethological philosophy of cinema based on Deleuze's idea that, ?when truth and judgment crumble, there remain bodies, which are... nothing but forces.?

Nothing really qualifies anyone for this love, but we receive only by His grace. God's mercy is not only for the rich and educated or a select few but also for the poor, the brokenhearted, the rejected, and the dejected. It knows no boundaries, no color, no race, no nationality, and no class. You come as you are with hopes of not remaining the same holding on to God's hand even as He is reaching out to you. I was headed for destruction before God's love which cannot be controlled like raging ocean found and saved me. We become cosmic criminals when we sin against the empowering power of grace, limiting God. Grace can be defined as the divine influence of God upon our hearts. As it flows, we are then able to tap into God's limitless (cosmic) powers and we become unstoppable; that is, until God's grace is disrupted. Then, it becomes a case: a legal process that must be litigated by scripture. And, because cosmic crimes carry cosmic ramifications, they affect our divine destiny. That is, they inhibit our ability to access the grace needed to crucify fleshly wisdom. We are thus confined to the natural, sight realm--where we lean to our own understanding. In this book, you will find seven processes that keep us in the grace of God. Each process shows a unique facet of God's grace that is available and how certain influences hinder its flow. More importantly, you will see that when grace is received, destruction is averted. However, when it is not received, devastation is inevitable. You will also find, throughout this book, select scriptures that I refer to as: God's Alerts. These are scriptures that depict a directive from the Lord: an instruction telling us what, why, and how a particular virtue is to be performed. These scriptures are designed to keep us on course. What: refers to the wisdom of the scripture. Why: gives us its understanding How: is the knowledge; it tells us how the scripture is to be applied. Each alert ends with a commentary on the thoughts and intents of God's heart that can be seen when wisdom, understanding, and knowledge function as a whole.
