40 Poems of Praise and Inspiration: Who Do You Say That I Am? is an easy-to-read book of Christian poetry. Writing this book fulfilled a personal goal of mine and has covered a span of forty years to completion. As you know, forty is a significant number in the Bible. There are over 150 times where the number forty is mentioned in the Bible, giving the number forty a great significance. For example: Moses and the Israelites wandered forty years in the desert; God destroyed the world in the great flood, lasting forty days and forty nights; Jesus wandered in the desert for forty days of prayer and fasting; and many more examples can be found. The format of the book is arranged in order to tell the story of Jesus's life on earth through poetry. It begins with His birth and progresses on to the resurrection and descent of the Holy Spirit. After each chapter, study guides have been developed for individual or group study, depending on the needs of the reader. This book can be read for enjoyment and also used to extend knowledge and reinforcement of Christian beliefs. Additionally, Christian schools, organizations, and prayer groups can use this book to help anyone wanting to deepen their relationship with God. It has been a joy to write this book, and I hope it is helpful for anyone wanting to develop a relationship with the Lord or strengthening the relationship they already have.

Christian Poetry for the Heart and Soul is my selection of the poems I consider the best and most poignant offerings representing my firm Christian fundamental principles, beliefs and eschatological thinking embodying discipline, defending the faith, and imparting wisdom and comfort to the reader. I wish to dispel two rumors, misunderstandings, and myths about Christians: 1.) Christians are weak and 2. ) Christians will just pray and let things happen. Certainly in my case prayer is a priori to action, but never doubt my willingness to destroy evil by any means necessary and to eliminate the evildoers who mock God. To be certain there are large groups of such lukewarm Christians, but again the world does not understand. I am among, not only one of the staunch defenders, but one who is ready for battle with the backing of God and God's word to destroy evil in whatever form it manifests itself.I recommend my powerful presentation of Christian beliefs and actions as portrayed in my book, Demolishing the Demons. I believe in both the Old and New Testaments. You might call my religious beliefs wholistic! "Vengeance is mine," saith the Lord, but I am that instrument of justice to enforce his word.You will find sections of my Christian poetry throughout my more than 50 books of poetry from which I culled the ones I felt were my best written; ones which imparted wisdom and comfort not only for my own reflections, but which would benefit the readers. This book is autobiographical in concept, as the author has had many experiences in life, in addition to his bouts with cancer and his subsequent survival. As the author brings his story to you in this book, his attempt is to present things in a sequence that explain them in the order of importance in his life. The author's life was riddled with ups and downs from inception, because of the absence of his father and mother, but the best thing that happens to him is that he was raised by his loving and caring grandmother, Mandy. Although many of the situations and experiences he faced existed in his life in Alabama in 1930s, they still exist in African American families and their communities today. As a result, Matt has a keen sense of the value of education, which he learned from his grandmother Mandy and other life experiences during the time he lived in Alabama. Matt's years as a child growing up in rural Alabama during 1930s-50s, at best was turbulent times for young African American boys, yet he rode horses with his "white friend", "J", a White kid that lived nearby at the time. Because of Matt's faith, taught to him by his grandmother Mandy, he was not afraid to take chances and try new things. At age 19 Matt went to work in Pensacola, Florida. Later that same year, he bought a 1939, pretty green Chevy. Matt was never deterred by life decisions, and still believes it is his faith that has brought him through many ordeals in his life. He has stepped out on "faith", and prevailed in turning what would have toppled the average big city kid; but not Matt, he turns negatives into positives, and perseveres as he gets up again, and again.
