On a humanitarian mission to the war-torn planet Jesel, Dr. Lara Simmons is used to dealing with lack of supplies, power outages and the constant earthquakes that afflict the planet. But when she's captured by the rebels who need her to perform a life-saving surgery, she finds herself in a situation her medical training didn't prepare her for. When the airship is blown out of the sky, she ends up in the Jeselian wilderness with no one to rely on but Blade Vengeance, an enormous tattooed rebel warrior. Dominant and unyielding, he doesn't hesitate to take her in hand when she disobeys the rules he lays out for her. Yet she soon learns he also knows how to deliver pleasure--with a passion she's never before experienced. Blade finds the doctor from Earth sexy as hell, especially when she's giving him attitude, but once he delivers her to headquarters, he tries to pull back from her allure. Known for single-handedly starting the revolution and freeing many of his people, his life is one of hardship, slavery and war. Going soft on a woman isn't part of his plan, especially with the final strike of the revolution so close. But when he sends Lara back to Earth to keep her safe during the upcoming battle, he inadvertently delivers her into enemy hands. Can he find and save her from the revolution he caused? Publishers Note: This story contains spanking and explicit sex scenes, including anal penetration. If such subject matter offends, do not buy this book. "There are some sexy spankings, romantic tension, and a creative alternate world (love the details about foreign creatures and plants, like rye-wolves & lemonberries)... If you like spanky sexy-times, tough alpha males and a fun read, this story is for you." - Alexis Alvarex, Author of Return "There's action, hotness, and enough emotion to have you tearing up at places. Lara is the perfect strong, intelligent heroine. And Blade is the quintessential alpha hero, who I was in love with before I even knew he was the hero. Fantastic, super scorching sci-fi!" - Aubrey Cara, author of Candi's Debt "Start off with a sexy, alpha male from another planet. Add in an awesome female lead character ...Then do some world building. Delicious fruits that made my mouth water; crazy, scary wild animals, telekinetic aliens, and uber freaky big headed, bad guy aliens. ...Yeah, this book had it all." -- Katherine Deane, author of Coach's Discipline

International justice has become a crucial part of the ongoing political debates about the future of shattered societies like Bosnia, Kosovo, Rwanda, Cambodia, and Chile. Why do our governments sometimes display such striking idealism in the face of war crimes and atrocities abroad, and at other times cynically abandon the pursuit of international justice altogether? Why today does justice seem so slow to come for war crimes victims in the Balkans? In this book, Gary Bass offers an unprecedented look at the politics behind international war crimes tribunals, combining analysis with investigative reporting and a broad historical perspective. The Nuremberg trials powerfully demonstrated how effective war crimes tribunals can be. But there have been many other important tribunals that have not been as successful, and which have been largely left out of today's debates about international justice. This timely book brings them in, using primary documents to examine the aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars, World War I, the Armenian genocide, World War II, and the recent wars in the former Yugoslavia. Bass explains that bringing war criminals to justice can be a military ordeal, a source of endless legal frustration, as well as a diplomatic nightmare. The book takes readers behind the scenes to see vividly how leaders like David Lloyd George, Winston Churchill, Franklin Roosevelt, and Bill Clinton have wrestled with these agonizing moral dilemmas. The book asks how law and international politics interact, and how power can be made to serve the cause of justice. Bass brings new archival research to bear on such events as the prosecution of the Armenian genocide, presenting surprising episodes that add to the historical record. His sections on the former Yugoslavia tell--with important new discoveries--the secret story of the politicking behind the prosecution of war crimes in Bosnia, drawing on interviews with senior White House officials, key diplomats, and chief prosecutors at the war crimes tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Bass concludes that despite the obstacles, legalistic justice for war criminals is nonetheless worth pursuing. His arguments will interest anyone concerned about human rights and the pursuit of idealism in international politics.

THE BATTLE AGAINST DARKNESS RAGES ON AS THE MINIONS OF THE EVIL ONE LAY DOWN A TRAP TO ENSNARE THE BOY WHO CAN CALL DOWN ANGELS FROM HEAVEN. A gun is fired outside the Washington Hilton Hotel. Ronald Reagan is hit and slumps into his limousine near death. Six months later a bomb explodes in London. Two are killed and forty injured. What wasn't reported by the press was that Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher cancelled an appearance that morning that would have placed her squarely in the kill zone. It is 1981. In the midst of those two events, as Pope John Paul II greets an adoring crowd in St. Peter's Square, four shots are fired by escaped murderer, Mehmet Ali Agca. The official story was that the bullet that hit the pope in the abdomen barely missed all vital organs. No surgeon can save him from his injuries. But there is still hope. Three seemingly unrelated events are part of a mosaic created by Satan's warriors, both human and spiritual, to lure Brady, the young man who talks with angels and who can call on the Light of the Blessed Virgin, to a place where his maddening interference can be destroyed once and for all. But Brady is anointed by God for such a time as this. With his brothers and an ancient line of Hebrew warriors at his side, knowing full well that a hideous trap is laid for him, he again charges boldly into the eternal battle, facing Satan's foulest in Rome, Paris, and a place of unspeakable horror in Calcutta, India, as he comes to the aid of an Albanian nun who is gallantly fighting for God's most vulnerable of children. Brady will lose people he loves dearly. But God will reveal to him that the call and blessing that was given to his grandfather and passed on to his father and then bestowed on himself will continue in his family as he holds faithful to the call. A Hand of Vengeance is Book 4 in John Stafford's Call of Vengeance Series.
