It is very rare to find a book in the academic circles and public libraries that speaks about Muhammad of history. Most of the books today tell you about Muhammad of faith, the founder of Islam. In this book I am presenting Muhammad of history- his life, wars, and teachings. My accounts are based on the "Mothers of the Islamic Books,"[1] the writings of the Egyptian Muslim liberal thinker, Sayyid Mahmoud Al-Qimni, and the views of some modern Muslim and non-Muslim writers. What is written in the "Mothers of the Islamic Books" is called "Al-Maskoot Anho" which means information that people- Muslims and non-Muslims - are not supposed to hear and know. Very few ''ulama "or Muslim Scholars" of al-Azhar al-Sharif University read these accounts and hardly speak about them even to one another. However, modern Egyptian Muslim writers such as Sayyid Mahmoud al-Qimni, Faraj Foda, and Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd endangered their lives by breaking the seals of these books and revealing to the public information about Muhammad that they have never heard before. For this reason Faraj Foda was shot dead in front of his office in Cairo, Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd fled out of Egypt to escape the death penalty, and Sayyid Mahmoud al-Qimni was forced to recant all his writings. Unfortunately before the outside world would get chance to read their works, these writers were silenced through murder, terrorization, and death-threat, and their writings are banned in the Muslim world. Besides that none of their books have been translated into English or any other western languages. In this book I am presenting the reader with the most important contributions of Dr. Sayyid Mahmoud al-Qimni. Accordingly, although many books are written about the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, however, this book is unique because it reveals things you have never heard before and you are not likely to get them in any other biographies of Muhammad. No matter what religious background you come from, this book is going to change your understanding of Islam and give you better insight into our world today. It is a book with no disguises that takes you deep into the life, teachings, and wars of the Prophet Muhammad. The Author: Dr. A. A. Ahmed. October 21, 2005. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1] "The Mothers of the Islamic Books" are books approved by Al-Azhar al-Sharif University in Cairo, Egypt. Al-Azhar University is the oldest, largest and most prestigious religious university in the Muslim world. It controls the religious life of the Sunni Muslims around the world. 85% of the Muslims in the World are Sunni Muslims.

On average, we spend around six years of our lives dreaming. Yet, astonishingly, few of us understand the purpose of dreams and even fewer recognise what our dreaming mind can tell us about ourselves and our world. Melinda Powell, psychotherapist and co-founder of the Dream Research Institute UK, reveals how better understanding our dreams can improve our waking lives. As well as examining the importance of sleep and dreams, The Hidden Lives of Dreams explores the role of light, colour, landscapes, space, healing presence and lucidity in dreams, dispels common misconceptions and addresses our fears of nightmares. Powell shows how to tap into our dreams as a source of guidance and inspiration to enhance our wellbeing and to discover a healthier, more balanced approach to life. 'Exploring the depths of dreaming with an experienced guide like Melinda Powell will bring you closer to your heart, your purpose and your truest self. Highly recommended.' Robert Waggoner

The Prophet Muhammad is a hero for all mankind. In his lifetime he established a new religion, Islam; a new state, the first united Arabia; and a new literary language, the classical Arabic of the Qur'an, for the Qur'an is believed to be the word of God revealed to Muhammad by the angel Gabriel. A generation after his death he would be acknowledged as the founder of a world empire and a new civilisation. Any one of these achievements would have been more than enough to permanently establish his genius. To our early twenty-first century minds, what is all the more astonishing is that he also managed to stay true to himself and retained to his last days the humility, courtesy and humanity that he had learned as an orphan shepherd boy in central Arabia. If one looks for a parallel example from Christendom, you would have to combine the Emperor Constantine with St Francis and St Paul, an awesome prospect. Barnaby Rogerson's elegant biography not only looks directly at the life of the Prophet Muhammad, but beautifully evokes for western readers the Arabian world into which he was born in 570 AD.

This children's book on the life of the Prophet Muhammad is taken from traditional Muslim biographical literature, including hadith. Passages from the Qur'an are used throughout to reinforce the stories. The material is authentic and the style lively and attractive. Although the book has been written for children of 10 to 15 years of age, it can be usefully read by anyone as an introduction because of its completeness and clarity. There are 32 colour illustrations although there has been no attempt to portray either the Prophet or his Companions. The illustrations are representative of traditional Islamic life as lived in many Arab countries and portray scenes that have occurred in those countries for over a thousand years. The Secret Life Of Theater written by Brian Kulick and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-01-08 with Performing Arts categories.

What is the secret DNA of theater? What makes it unique from its sister arts? Why was it invented? Why does it persist? And now, in such an advanced technological age, why do we still feel compelled to return to a mode of expression that was invented over two thousand years ago? These are some of the foundational questions that are asked in this study of theater from its inception to today. The Secret Life of Theater begins with a look at theater’s origins in Ancient Greece. Next, it moves on to examine the history and nature of theater, from Agamenon to Angels in America, through theater’s use of stage directions, revealing the many unspoken languages that are employed to communicate with its audiences. Finally, it looks at theater’s ever-shifting strategies of engendering fellow-feeling through the use of emotion, allowing the form to become a rare space where one can feel a thought and think a feeling. In an age when many studies are concerned with the "how" of theater, this work returns us to theatre’s essential "why." The Secret Life of Theater suggests that by reframing the question we can re-enchant this unique and ever-vital medium of expression.

In "Knots Untied; Or, Ways and Byways in the Hidden Life of American Detectives," George S. McWatters delves into the intriguing and often clandestine world of American detectives in the late 19th century. Written with a vivid narrative style that blends riveting accounts with keen insights, the book serves as both an exposé and a tribute to the complexities of detective work during a time when the genre was emerging in popular literature. McWatters employs a descriptive and anecdotal approach, weaving together case studies, personal reflections, and cultural commentary that illuminate the evolving role of detectives in society. George S. McWatters was himself deeply immersed in the detective community, having worked within law enforcement and criminal investigations. His firsthand experiences and rich understanding of the societal dynamics of the era provide an authentic foundation for the stories he recounts. Living through a transformative period for American law enforcement, McWatters was motivated to shed light on the nuances of detective life that often remain obscured by sensationalism and myth. This compelling work is highly recommended for readers interested in true crime, detective fiction, or the cultural history of America. McWatters' unique perspective offers invaluable insights into the challenges and triumphs faced by detectives, making "Knots Untied" a significant contribution to both literary and historical discourse.
