It seeks to understand the theological and biblical underpinnings that guide the political perspectives of Pentecostal Christian leaders in the region. Additionally, it aims to assess how these leaders impact the political involvement of their congregants, explore the relationship between Pentecostalism and various political ideologies, identify the challenges faced by Pentecostal leaders when engaging in politics, and offer recommendations to enhance their role in promoting responsible political participation. To address these objectives, a mixed-methods approach was employed. A survey of 75 residents of Mbale City provided quantitative data on political behaviors and perceptions related to Pentecostal leaders. Complementing this, in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 Pentecostal bishops and overseers to gain deeper insights into their beliefs and practices. The data collected from both sources were analyzed to draw meaningful conclusions. The study's findings underscore the substantial link between Pentecostal Christian leaders and political participation in Mbale City. It reveals how these leaders effectively mobilize their congregants, instill a sense of civic responsibility, and influence their political attitudes. Furthermore, the research uncovers potential challenges and opportunities arising from the intersection of religion and politics in the city. In conclusion, this research sheds light on the intricate relationship between religion and politics, particularly within the context of Pentecostalism in Uganda. It affirms the significant influence of Pentecostal Christian leaders on political engagement in Mbale City, advocating for informed and inclusive approaches to democratic governance and community development. Nevertheless, it is important to acknowledge the study's limitations and recommend further research and strategies to foster responsible political behavior in a religiously diverse society.

This book takes up this pressing debate using Christianity in sub-Saharan Africa as its empirical base to demonstrate that religious teachings communicated in sermons can influence both the degree and the form of citizens' political participation. McClendon and Riedl document some of the current diversity of sermon content in contemporary Christian houses of worship and then use a combination of laboratory experiments, observational survey data, focus groups, and case comparisons in Zambia, Uganda, and Kenya to interrogate the impact of sermon exposure on political participation and the longevity of that impact. The study was more determined to explore the diverse ways in which the youth find palatable and find it easy to indulge in as part of political participation process. It was also the goal of this research to identify the mode of political participation which majority of the youth at NUL preferred over others. It was of paramount importance to discern how meaningful and fruitful do educated Basotho youth consider politics to be. The study used questionnaires to gather information that would address the objectives of this research paper. It also involved interacting with the youth at the National University of Lesotho to explore their level of political participation. In this regard, their inclination in political events were identified and established. The youth are lacking in ministerial posts and the national assembly of Lesotho. Yet, it is common to hear people say that the youth are leaders of tomorrow. The aim of this research was to establish the level of political participation among the National University of Lesotho (NUL) youth. Data for this study was collected from 15 respondents through a questionnaire. The study found that that the youth participate less when it comes to voting in general elections and supporting political parties, especially when it comes to enrolling for their membership. On the contrary, the level of political participation among the youth at NUL was found to be high as measured using political activism. Despite their low level of political participation, it was established that the youth at NUL preferred to participate in politics through voting in general elections and buying political party products.

However, there is an assumption on men's domination of political parties and the women are solely in the parties as cheerleaders. Studies exist on women participation in politics in Ekiti State, extant literature have not addressed the functions of women in political parties in Ekiti State. Therefore, the aim of this study is to examine the functions of women in political parties in Ekiti State. It also aimed at investigating women access to empowerment within the political parties in Ekiti State. The study adopted a qualitative method research design in which an in-depth interview was combined with documentary evidence. Primary data were sourced using interview and focus group while secondary data was sourced from documents such as the Nigeria constitution, Independent national commission and relevant documents from the political party's websites. Through purposive and snowball sampling techniques, four political parties were selected and using a semi-structured interview, a total number of 13 people within the four political parties were interviewed and 2 Focus Group within the four political parties. The study also implored relevant literatures and theory; the study implored liberal feminism. Findings showed that women in political parties in Ekiti States perform roles such as spiritual, mobilizing and executive roles. Women functions in political parties are both within and outside the parties. Furthermore, the status of women in political parties in Ado Ekiti has not reflected most of the global laws and declaration on women. For the last three decades, Uganda has been one of the fastest growing economies in Africa. Globally praised as an African success story and heavily backed by international financial institutions, development agencies and bilateral donors, the country has become an exemplar of economic and political reform for those who espouse a neoliberal model of development. The neoliberal policies and the resulting restructuring of the country have been accompanied by narratives of progress, prosperity, and modernisation and justified in the name of development. But this self-celebratory narrative, which is critiqued by many in Uganda, masks the disruptive social impact of these reforms and silences the complex and persistent crises resulting from neoliberal transformation.
