When we search for completeness and harmony, we usually carry along the weight of our lack of love, our old wounds, our conditioned patterns. How on earth can we hope to reach long-lasting happiness with all these burdens? How can we reach deep contentment while our complicated and painful past is seething inside of us? This book does not require any intellectual acrobatics. It carries us to the heart of our intimate lands and reveals the mechanisms that have led us to disconnect from ourselves and from the secret of our being. It is the living testimony of an inner transformation process. It is also a guide for those of us who have reached a point in time when they need to face what is alive in them, to dig into the thick layers of their fears and pains, and to discover... what never dies. In The Inner Truth Adventure, Darpan describes this journey with true, powerful, sincere words. He unveils the multiple facets of a full- edged inner dismantling process. As we venture on this path, we become free from suffering and able to incarnate our completeness.

Adventures In Speech written by Pier Massimo Forni and has been published by University of Pennsylvania Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-11-11 with Literary Criticism categories.

Selected by Choice magazine as an Outstanding Academic Book for 1996 The Decameron is a narrative account of a situation in which narration takes place-a collection of one hundred stories set within a larger story. As a group of young men and women fleeing the plague trade stories to pass the time of crisis, storytelling occurs in a social context that allows for comment upon the tales by the tellers themselves, in a setting that elicits one story in return for another. In his close and original analysis, Pier Massimo Forni uses the notion of rhetoric as a guiding principle for a critical assessment of the Decameron. He explores the discursive tools with which the narrators connect the contents of their stories to their audience's environment, and goes on to argue that the book is significantly marked by Boccaccio's habit of exploring the narrative potential of rhetorical forms. By showing how the Decameron marks a new stage in the development of vernacular realism, Forni also charts a new course in Boccaccio criticism. Viewing the cultural and rhetorical context of the medieval masterpiece from a fresh perspective, he offers intriguing insights into the functioning of Boccaccio's narrative. Adventures in Speech maps the cognitive poetic processes that rule the complex authorial network of relationships involving speech, event, received culture, and narrative objects.

VUCA is not just another acronym. Originally coined by the American military to describe a situation fraught with a variety of challenges, it now has a permanent place in the realms of strategic leadership. Those who have made it into an enterprise management role are finding that their leadership skills are truly being tried and tested on account of the volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environment we are in. Agility is now the name of the game. Developing one's leadership skills to match this requirement, and to not only surmount the challenges posed by the VUCA world but do so in a mature and authentic way, is what this book is all about. It gently submerges the reader into an impressive tank of knowledge that the authors, experts in the field of personal development, have amassed during their careers. Psychology, mythology and examples of real-life enterprises are accompanied by the excellent analogy of one of our best-known heroes, Luke Skywalker of the Star Wars films, to illustrate that there is nothing to fear, that we all have the potential to act courageously. At regular intervals throughout the book, the reader is presented with thought-provoking questions and statements, the answers to which will help them eventually resurface with a clear picture of how to use their skills and talents to motivate themselves and others to proceed wisely in the corporate landscape.
