The word, 'Kabbalah' means, 'to receive.' It is a system of studying 10 different names/attributes of God, and serves as a graphical aid to assist the reader in understanding the mysteries of God. This book is a collection of Bible Studies on the 10 names/attributes of God, and the 22 Tarot Cards associated with the connecting paths within the Rosicrucian and alchemical tradition. It is intended to assist the reader in understanding the nature of God, the mysteries of the Bible, and the path to salvation and spiritual growth. The mystic differs from the ordinary religionist in that whereas the latter knows God through an objective revelation whether in nature or as embodied in the Bible (which is really only second-hand knowledge, mediate, external, the record of other people's visions and experiences), the mystic knows God by contact of spirit with spirit; cor ad cor loquitur. He has the immediate vision; he hears the still small voice speaking clearly to him in the silence of his soul. In this sense the mystic stands quite outside the field of all the great religions of the world. Religion for him is merely his own individual religion, his own lonely, isolated quest for truth. He is solitary, a soul alone with God.

General and special studies on Christian mysticism are numerous enough; but it is somewhat remarkable that, in their introductory pages, authors, who have much to say of Plotinus and Neoplatonism, have nothing or very little on the still more cognate subject of Jewish mysticism. This is not, however, so very surprising, for, truth to tell, there is a singular dearth of anything like an adequate introduction to the study of Jewish mysticism itself. The impression left with the general reader is that there is little of a mystical nature in the legitimate tradition of Jewish religion, and that the Kabbalah is simply a morbid and late growth, fed entirely by elements foreign to the genius of Israel. How ill-founded is the former view, and how extreme the latter, may be seen in the following pages. In an able summary, that may well serve as an introduction to the general study of Jewish mysticism, Dr. Abelson makes accessible to the general reader, in simple terms, the results of his careful inquiry, based on the researches of the best Jewish scholars, and reinforced by his own wide acquaintance with Talmudic and Rabbinical literature. Contents : Introduction Chapter I. Some Early Elements: Essenism Chapter II. The Merkabah (Chariot) Mysticism Chapter III. Philo: Metatron: Wisdom Chapter IV. Kingdom of Heaven: Fellowship: Shechinah Chapter V. The Book 'Yetsirah' Chapter VI. Some General Features of the 'Zohar' Mysticism Chapter VII. The Ten Sefirot Chapter VIII. Reuchlin?s keen interest in Jewish mysticism resulted in the original publication of this work in 1517. The first part of this dialogue reflects on messianism, the second part on the relation of the Pythagorean system to the Kabbalah, and the third on the "practical Kabbalah." ø The German humanist Johann Reuchlin (1455-1522) defended the value of Jewish scholarship and literature when it was unwise and unpopular to do so. As G. Lloyd Jones points out, "A marked mistrust of the Jews had developed among Christian scholars during the later Middle Ages. It was claimed that the rabbis had purposely falsified the text of the Old Testament and given erroneous explanations of passages which were capable of a christological interpretation." Christian scholars most certainly did not advocate learning the Hebrew language. ø Reuchlin was exceptional in pursuing and promoting Hebrew studies, believing that a working knowledge of that language was essential for a true appreciation of the Bible and rabbinic literature. Refusing to join Christian contemporaries who wished to destroy the Kabbalah and the Talmud, he spoke out against ignorance. Christians could have a useful dialogue with Jews if they gained a thorough knowledge of the writings of Jewish exegetes and philosophers. Toward that end he proposed university endowments that aroused the fury of opponents and led to the famous "battle of the books." ø Reuchlin's keen interest in Jewish mysticism resulted in the publication of De arte cabalistica in 1517. The first part of this dialogue reflects on messianism, the second part on the relation of the Pythagorean system to the Kabbalah, and tdhe third on the "practical Kabbalah." According to Jones, "Reuchlin demonstrates how Christians can make profitable use of Jewish mystical writings, and therefore shares with the reader his understanding of the art of the Kabbalah." That art will reach more readers in this modern English-language translation by Martin and Sarah Goodman. It reinforces the historical importance of the man who prevented the destruction of Jewish books and anticipated the more liberal climate of the Reformation.

The Kabbalah written by Adolphe Franck and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-03-30 with Religion categories.

The Kabbalah's history and esoteric qualities are demystified and explained by Adolph Franck, a philosopher and scholar of ancient Jewish texts. With origins dating back thousands of years, the Kabbalistic texts are a cornerstone of Judaist tradition. They explain the relationship between God, humanity, the Earth, and the very Creation itself. For many centuries, Kabbalist scholars employed the lore as a means of explaining difficult passages in the Hebrew Bible and other ancient texts. However the Kabbalah itself evolved with time; an important component of it is the Zohar, a book whose origins are considered by scholars to be potentially as late as the 13th century AD. Beginning in the Renaissance, elements of the Zohar's doctrine were even adopted by Christian thinkers. As Franck explains, its influences can be felt in religions and philosophical belief systems elsewhere. Frequent reinterpretations and complex philosophical discussions give the Kabbalah aspects of continuous history, reflective of the changes in society such as the Renaissance. The author devotes entire chapters to the Kabbalist views on the human soul, the physically manifest world, and the divine nature of God, his analysis informed by a wide breadth of sources plus many years of personal researches and scholarship on Judaism.

Giordano Bruno (1548?1600), a defrocked Dominican monk, was convicted of heresy by the Roman Catholic Inquisition and burned at the stake in Rome. He had spent fifteen years wandering throughout Europe on the run from Counter-Reformation intelligence and eight years in prison under interrogation. The author of more than sixty works on mathematics, science, ethics, philosophy, metaphysics, the art of memory and esoteric mysticism, Bruno had a profound impact on Western thought. Until now his involvement with Jewish mysticism has never been fully explored. Karen Silvia de Le¢n-Jones presents an engaging and illuminating discussion of his mystical understanding and use of Jewish and Christian Kabbalah, theology, and philosophy, including the famous Hermetica, and especially his exploration and use of magic to reveal the mysteries of the universe and the divine.
