God's deliverance is a central theme in both the Bible and Jewish thought. Each year, at Passover, we are reminded of the miracle of redemption. When God delivered our people from slavery in Egypt, he brought us to a beautiful place. He promised his abundant provision in "a land flowing with milk and honey," a phrase repeated often in Bible. And ADONAI brought us out of Egypt with a strong hand and a stretched-out arm, with great terror, and with signs and wonders. Now he has brought us to this place and given us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey. (Deut. 26:8-9) In this calendar, we have included pictures of what are called "the seven species." According to Jewish tradition, offerings were made from these species. These crops flourished even in years of drought, proof of the blessing God wanted to bestow on his people, Israel. It is a land of wheat and barley, grapevines, fig trees and pomegranates; a land of olive oil and honey; a land where you will eat food in abundance and lack nothing in it. (Deut. 8:8-9a) The pictures were chosen to show the beauty of the Land and the fulfillment of God's promise of blessing.

In four years at a Southern Baptist university, we wrote our theses. Mine was about the “Silence of Jesus.” After graduation, my paper was converted to “Messianic Prophecies, Cross-Examined,” a book nominated for the Erik Hoffer Award. In this riveting divine drama, unlike His Sanhedrin trial, and after two millennia of silence and guilty verdict, Jesus is represented by a defense council that energetically defends Him against the opposing council, Caiaphas' interrogations. It will energize your heart, mind, and soul! A pleasure to read, a one-stop. The thesis concluded with the fifth chapter, but the book has a sixth chapter about His Second Coming, so read it last. Will the Son of Man return by the same Name? Will His followers be known as Christians, or will they be given a new Title? The combined force of sixty-five Bible (KJB) texts removes all uncertainty concerning His potential New Name. The sixth chapter discusses these and other thought-provoking subjects. This book discusses forty-nine topics that our preachers are unable to address in their sermons. In words of one reader, Messianic Prophecies, Cross-Examined, shifted my consciousness.

The conflict between Israel and the Palestinians has profoundly affected the Middle East for almost seventy years, and shows no sign of ending. With two peoples claiming the same piece of land for different reasons, it remains a huge political and humanitarian problem. Can it ever be resolved? If so, how? These are the basic questions addressed in a new and substantially revised fifth edition of this highly acclaimed book. Having lived and worked in the Middle East at various times since 1968, Colin Chapman explains the roots of the problem and outlines the arguments of the main parties involved. He also explores the theme of land in the Old and New Testaments, discussing legitimate and illegitimate ways of using the Bible in relation to the conflict. This new and fully updated edition covers developments since 9/11, including the building of the security wall, the increased importance of Hamas and the Islamic dimension of the conflict, and the attacks on Lebanon and Gaza.

Future Israel: Why Christian Anti-Judaism Must Be Challenged is volume three in the NEW AMERICAN COMMENTARY STUDIES IN BIBLE & THEOLOGY (NACSBT) series for pastors, advanced Bible students, and other deeply committed laypersons. Author Barry E. Horner writes to persuade readers concerning the divine validity of the Jew today (based on Romans 11:28), as well as the nation of Israel and the land of Palestine, in the midst of this much debated issue within Christendom at various levels. He examines the Bible's consistent pro-Judaic direction, namely a Judeo-centric eschatology that is a unifying feature throughout Scripture. Not sensationalist like many other writings on this constantly debated topic, Future Israel is instead notably exegetical and theological in its argumentation. Users will find this an excellent extension of the long-respected NEW AMERICAN COMMENTARY.
