The twentieth century has created this great debate among those of the church here in America and around the world: Do Christians get taken up before the great tribulation or after? This debate seems to bounce back-and-forth with one idea against another, and when all is said and done, nobody seems to be the better for it one way or another. Scripture after scripture is quoted for pre-trib and then post-trib with such serious proclamation and both sides end up walking away in great dismay wondering about the other, "How could they not see what I was saying?" Is there an end to this debate before some telling time or event comes along for all to see? It was the apostle Paul who tackled this topic with great care and understanding. His discourse was with great insight and revelation that seemed to have come from the Lord Himself. In Paul's writings to Corinth, he finally came to state, "Then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory." What was Paul declaring here when he said "swallowed up"? Where has the church stood on the term "swallowed up"? Where are all the debaters at in regard to this term? Could this statement of Paul's be an end to this debate? I most assuredly say yes. I have found that Paul's statement is an irrefutable one declaring a post tribulation res/rap judgment. All of Paul's teachings on this topic are in full agreement, strengthening this idea without controversy. Once you see it and understand it, you will be converted to stand by it! What matters to me is the readiness of the church! We need to be ready now and always if he comes early, but if delayed: we will need to be ready to go through the dark and difficult days ahead. We need to prepare our hearts now for what is coming lest it catch us off guard! We need to build our faith to stand under pressure, and we need to build our trust and confidence in Him now to keep us while in tribulation. We will need to settle the matter in our hearts concerning all those things coming on the earth, to lay our lives down at all cost! We will need to prepare our children and loved ones for the day ahead if the Lord tarry. If the Lord did return today, most would not be ready to evacuate! If he were to delay his coming, most are unprepared for the dark and difficult days ahead. I am afraid for the church! I am afraid many will fall away if the rapture does not occur as expected. I am afraid many are taking this too lightly, thinking they are guaranteed a seat on the rapture express but will be left behind because of complacency and indifference toward Christ and the gospel. Either way you look at it, the church is neither ready to leave, nor ready to go through!

Why would anyone not believe in one judgment of all people when the Lord returns?" The answer can only be because one permitted himself to be so blindly conditioned to the rapture and a literal millennial period that the return of the Lord with judgment and the resurrection of all, at once is impossible to accept. Hopefully, this work will contribute to opening some of those entrenched minds and keep others from becoming the same. Many people, both inside and outside of the church, are uncertain on the subject of end times. There are many people inside the church who view end times as unresolved, indeterminable, or totally up in the air. Those outside the church view end times as random, chance, or arbitrary. The schedule of events is established; the only uncertainty is the hour or day they will begin (1 Thess. 5:2). Both inside and outside of the church, inconclusive views, partial dispositions and false teaching are widespread concerning end times; which promotes uncertainty. Some interpreters point to every flood, earthquake or political upheaval as a sign that the final days are fast approaching. While these events may signal the approach of the final days, they are not definitively supported in the Bible. It is important to study Bible passages within their context. Taking verses out of context leads to error and misunderstanding. To fully understand context, four principles must be considered: literal meaning, historical setting, grammar, and synthesis. Context is crucial to biblical exegesis, in that it is one of its most important fundamentals.
